Hello there 🖐️!

My nickname is Rendomski, and I've been involved in a variety of fandoms for the larger part of my life. My current obsession is "The Bad Batch", and all my latest fanfiction is on AO3.

Main warning: I am not a native English speaker, and beta readers are hard to come by, so I apologize in advance for some clumsiness of my language.

I am also an avid reader, and I like commenting, reviewing and recommending fanfiction; and criticizing occasionally. Hope to continue this tradition in my new blog on Tumblr 🙂

It Does

Week 6 @summer-of-bad-batch Prompt: Battle Scars Rating: General Audiences Word Count: 993 Summary: Hunter works up the courage to ask Crosshair if the scars on his head ever hurt. READ ON AO3

“Does it ever hurt?” Hunter asked, words halting.

He and Crosshair were down by the docks, dusk painting the sky in purple and gold, the waters now dark, comfortable shadows enveloping them. The soft lapping of the water against the wood and the docked boats was soothing, which was probably the only reason Hunter had worked up the courage to even ask this.

“Does what hurt?” Crosshair spat.

Oh, classic Crosshair.

“Your scars—the ones on your head,” Hunter explained.

Wrecker and heights

Wrecker's fear of heights is common knowledge.

We hear him groaning and complaining about the heights (or rather “gravity”) on every occasion. His brothers are shamelessly teasing him about it. Rex comments on it. And Omega proudly uses him as an example of being the strongest soldier despite his issue.

But we never see Wrecker hesitate or compromise the mission because of his fear of heights. Even when Wrecker witnesses his brother falling, actually loses his brother to the effing height he was always scared of, his fear never becomes a real obstacle to doing what he sets out to do.

In case people need a reminder that Wrecker is the best of men 😍.

Just wondering does anyone know if Hondo Onaka has been the star of a Star Wars time travel fix-it? I just feel he would save things in the most unhinged and flamboyant way possible as a fantastic pirate captain.

General Command by shadowmaat

Chapter 4: Meddlesome (Day 4: Time Travel)

My tags: Time travel (almost pre- fix-it), One-shot, Hondo is the Time Traveller (he’s not tagged but very much the focus), its also the Dooku Captured episode so Dooku’s just there, so’s Obi-wan but Cody replaces Anakin, so there’s gratuitous Codywan, and some matchmaker Hondo, Cody has the outsider POV (he doesn’t know about the time travel), also personal take but Ezra and Katooni are haunting the narrative a little in this one

Title: Dawnlight Beginnings Ship: Hunter/Tech Rated: G Notes: I wrote this before The Bad Batch was even announced as a series. I was hooked on these two and drinking the juice from the start. This was before I really had a better concept of their characters, but I'm pretty pleased with it regardless. It was my first step into this ship, and I haven't looked back since.

Of all the variations of the plot “Tech is clone CX2” in fanfiction, I like best the ones where the memories of his past life are partly or totally gone, but Tech still retains his personality, something unique and stubborn, which helps him to break the conditioning and reform ties with his family. It feels like a replay of an ancient trope “came back different” of sorts.

There is a lot of grief and sadness in these stories, of course, but not all tears are evil, as the wise man said. Death is a life-changing experience, after all, and paying a price for coming back is natural. Also, I enjoy how the love of Tech's siblings shows up as they accept him despite his change and help him to adjust to his new old life.

In addition, this plot inevitably reflects on “would you still love me if I was a worm?” what makes a person this particular person, dear to someone, even if they no longer share the same crucial memories? I even feel a bit cheated if Tech/CX2 comes to an understanding with his family via regaining his memories—though emotionally I'm of course happy for all of them.

Since all the discussions about the fanfiction are always better with practical examples, here's one of the best of CX2/Tech coming back fics:

The Bad Batch rescues Tech after Hunter spears him. But brainwashed Tech is a particularly stubborn m-fer who persists on being not Tech and returning to the Empire. It takes a lot of patience and love, as well as some unexpectedly logical reasoning to help him to move on. Also, I love the idea that helping others in a similar situation is often  the best way to help yourself.

Can’t recommend this fic enough! ♥️

Last Line Challenge

Doubling as WIP poll option #2 (50 min of writing!)

Rules: in a new post, share the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you feel like).

Thanks for the tag, @huntressdarkness !

Someone’s feeling naughty, naughty! 😜

A holo of a naked Togruta female filled the screen, her muscled torso halfway turned towards the viewer, deep red skin of her strong neck and shoulders subtly lightening into almost pinkish tones of full, round breasts with inviting dark nipples like large, ripe berries, begging to be nibbled.
