It’s true and you should say it, if Yemenite’s can have their jimmels then i can have a saf

Wait Syrians are the most likely accurate Hebrew??? I’m Syrian and I’ve never heard this before, where’s this from? 👀

By that I mean they pronounce all the emphatics (ט ק ח ע), both forms of all the begedkefet letters (ב ג ד כ פ ת), the tapped ר, the w vav, and distinguish every vowel sign (though I was only told this but did not observe it). Oh and by “they” I mean the two Syrians I met in yeshiva. I’m not sure if everyone does ever detail but The ones u knew did a lot and were well aware of the rest. In short, it’s every single dot and line in a fully diacritical text, which means it’s at least as old as that system.

That’s so interesting, I grew up thinking we were the weird ones for how we pronounce things lol!

I wouldn’t say that speaking everyday Hebrew like that is suuuuper common but we do definitely sing and say tefillot like that. I think there’s also some slight difference between Aleppo/halabi jews(Hi!) and those from Damascus/shamai Jews but I couldn’t point it out if I tried, it just sounds just slightly different.

Oh yeah Modern Israeli Hebrew is completely different, the most you get there is ח ע while this is all about liturgical Hebrew

Not even with ע! We say it way farther down the throat than modern Hebrew does, Moroccans do the same, as well as Tunisians I think?? There’s definitely more who also pronounce it like that though. A real good example of Syrian pronunciation is חיבת הפיוט on Spotify, they do lots of classic Syrian piyuttim with their original pronunciation

For Star Wars Sapphics FemSlash February Bingo (prompt: "only one bunk"/"rebel base life")

Yrica & Chass from Alphabet Squadron- inspired by the scene where a tipsy Chass just happens to find herself in Yri's bunk 😂. I like to think that was not the only time it happened...!

(p.s. happy Valentine's Day to @halepo & @femmefighter, who finally got me into this ship!)

remember in 2007 or 2008 when emo was at its peak and gay marriage wasn't legal and so we had boys in eyeliner and skirts making out with each other at the mall in protest. i think we need this again

i know the floppy haired emo boys of 2006 and 2007 are in their late 30s now and perhaps even their 40s and they have jobs in tech and middle management but PLEASE. we need you. we need you to dye your hair black and put your fucking snakebites back in and paint your nails and go to the mall and kiss each other

i dont care that you have a wife if she's cool she'll get it
