So I watched Rtte, the dragon trilogy, the extra episode and sequel, and I intend to read the original books but I still need more content about httyd...whatever it is, would you know comics or novel concerning them ?
On Httyd the Hidden world:
I wasnt even aware how much I loved the Gang and RttE until Httyd 3. Because no matter how much I liked it the animation and the music and the feels, I will never forgive I’m very much disappointed by:
- the lack of interaction between the OG gang,
- no Heather and Dagur; (you tell me they werent even at the wedding ?!) and I’m just salty because I love them.
- no Snotlout/Hookfang (it’s personal because they were one of my favorite thing in RttE) and more generally, dragon riders/dragon interactions
- Snotlout’s crush and flirt on Valka ( Seriously ??!! why destroy the respect and the liking I have for him like this ?which was built slowly and surely when I watched RttE... and I understand you need a character a little blockhead and dullard but that was just too much...)
- Lightfury and Toothless romance was nice and cool but it feels like it concentrated too much on it because we had never seen one before and it was just new..(I know it must have been the purpose of the movie, to show a new dragon and the consequences of that, to let go and all but still ) -
- I missed Ruff and Tuff’s pranks.
- When the dragons had to go, we just had THE big moment between Hiccup and Toothless (the beginning of everything, of many adventure and a great friendship, i know i know...) but I would have liked to see more reaction from the other riders...because dont tell me they havent formed a bond as strong as the one between H and T. Perhaps not as special and obvious from an outsider’s point of view, but it’s here and it’s mattered.
- If the dragons are gone, does that mean the New Great Protector have to go too ? And what does that mean for the wingmaiden - Can they still be wingmaiden ? ?

I was watching Race to the edge and to see Astrid reprimanded by Tuffnut pointing out and pick up on her condescending attitude toward the twins is very refreshing; she re-evaluates her own behavior and basically takes responsibility for what happened to Ruffnut, admits her fault and begins to accepts the help of T.
It’s what I call some character development. And I love it. Because no, she’s not the “girl dating the hero”. (Hence I love her character and love her story with Hiccup, they’re friends before lovers)
