Right, so I only watched The Wrath of Khan two days ago (I know, shocking right?) and I had underestimated how much Saavik is obviously Spock's favourite student (daughter) and vice versa, she always follows him. Even Jim seems to find it endearing.
It's adorable
It also pains me deeply that their last exchange is about how he would come teach her about one more human thing when he had the time- and he didn't have the time
Obsessed with how she’s so used to him doting on her that Saavik lowkey is super unprofessional with Kirk, like constantly demanding information from him and correcting him on perceived missteps and sometimes Spock corrects her but other times when Jim looks to Spock to like … do anything … he’s just like “:)”

Just watched IWTV S2E7 so I’m back on my Saavik bullshit, naturally.
Guys Saavik is so Claudia de Lioncourt coded. “Picked another one over me” :(. He takes her from her burning planet and teaches her only enough to drop her on Vulcan to endure the same xenophobia by Sarek and her peers that he experienced so he can go back to the Enterprise, to Jim. Still she saves Spock on Genesis at the expense of David, her closest friend, and he goes with Kirk anyway despite barely remembering him. Never remembering her at all, for all we know. She’s gone into the ether of the final frontier and he gets to go boldly with his soulmate.
