But yeah, Swap AU. One of UF's first original AUs, focused on, for those of you not in the know, Steven and the twins essentially swapping roles (lots of other swaps in there too but that's the main one). In this AU, the twins are Garnet's kids (Sapphire was Dipper's mom, Ruby was Mabel's). Everything else here is probs pretty explainitory. It was fun to draw these kiddos again, and to give their fusion a much needed redesign. If I do more Swap sketches, I'll probs do Steven and Connie next, for fun ^_^

When it comes to Dipcifica in Relativity Falls AU, I have two specific ideas about it:

1. When lost in the multiverse for 30 years, not only did he carry a picture of himself and Mable when they were younger, he carried a picture of himself and Pacifica.

2. He also carried a proposal ring he wanted to give to her, which he finally does after the events of Weirdmagadeon.

Give me Dipcifica. It doesn’t matter how the ship is served up, it’s always great no matter what.

- post canon where the twins return the following summer, leading to Pacifica and Dipper sparking up a romance? Oh yes

- reverse falls AU where Dipper is a snobbish psychic and Pacifica is your classic granola girl? Give me all of it.

- far future where Dipper and Pacifica are a happily married couple? INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS! (Especially if there’s cute fankids involved)

I LOVE THOSE TWO NO MATTER HOW YOU SPIN IT! THEY’RE SO GREAT TOGETHER!

Jeez some of these details like Wendy's mom being dead and Waddles potentially dying are depressing.

The Dipper one especially. That recontextualizes so much about how him and Mabel acted around the end of the series.

No wonder Dip latched onto authority figures so much and wanted to stay with Ford. He was afraid that when he came home, his parents would be divorced.

But where Dipper looked for replacement parents in other adult figures in an attempt to find stability, Mabel clung to whatever stability/reliable family she already had, Dipper. Mable wasn't looking for replacement parents because Dipper essentially filled that role for her, a dependable, reliable family member who would always be there to get her out of trouble. But Mabel couldn't be that person for Dipper in return, so Dipper looked elsewhere for that stability and found it in Ford.

So when the possibility of Dipper not going home came up, Mabel panicked because she would be losing that stability and would return to fighting parents without anyone to depend on.

Mabel handing over the rift makes a lot more sense now. Endless Summer for her equals Endless Stability.
