Travel: Architecture - Villa Manin di Passariano is a Venetian villa located in Passariano Codroipo (UD).

It is a monumental architectural complex built in the sixteenth century at the behest of the noble Friulian Antonio Manin, the loss of the dominion of the seas focused on the resources offered by the land, planting a farm and placing at the center of a manor house.

The Manin family, documented in Florence since Mille, had arrived in Friuli (Aquileia and Cividale) as a result of the struggles between Guelphs and Ghibellines and held that role and the political in mainland of Venice which will be fully development in the sixteenth century, a time when Antonio Manin came into possession of gastaldia of Sedegliano and settles Passariano.

The first factory of the villa is due between 1650 and 1660.

In subsequent years, the grandchildren Ludovico Manin Francis I and IV resumed the project, perhaps aided by the architect Giuseppe Benone. The original appearance of the seventeenth century villa differed radically from the current one, due to the transformation and expansion of the eighteenth century took Ludwig II and III Ludovido (Alvise said) and made first by the Venetian architect Domenico Rossi (who in 1707 designed the town square and, after 1718, perhaps realizes the monumental exedra current) and then by John Ziborghui, that between the years 1730 and 1740 did raise the barns.

The elevation of the central nucleus noble, performed with the help of Giorgio Massari, will instead be built since 1745. The large park (over 17 hectares), located in the back, seems to be due to the will of the "master of the house" Ziborghi.

The nephew Ludovico Manin will transform later in a body that, in addition to agricultural function, also reflects a desire for representation.

Substantial renovations were, especially by Giannantonio Selva, have altered the original park today giving us a place complicated by alterations and replacement of the same tree species.
