Officially introducing #CreatureFeature a bi-weekly creature design celebration. Curated by myself and @FabooGu. Each fortnight we decide on a new theme and encourage artists of all skill levels to create interesting and unique creature designs.
The current theme is Dragons. On the first Tuesday of every theme (tonight), we will have a Creature Feature stream over at https://www.twitch.tv/zestydoesthings but the theme runs for the whole two week period, so you have plenty of time to join in!
You’ve probably seen the Puca (mascot) art before, but here are a few pieces of concept art for a fan-Persona game set in England and inspired by celtic mythology. One of the many personal projects that probably won’t go anywhere too soon..
On stream, we redrew some of the old designs from the previous set of music inspired monsters. Super fun to retouch these old designs and give them some new life! (Also a bonus Mismagius because I needed to warm up!)
Some more designs from the archive! This is a portion of the work done for another project that fell through. The brief was to design creatures based on music, focusing on the instruments and the kind of sound/feeling they produce.
This project really helped shape how I draw human(ish) characters. I didn't really have a consistent approach before this and it was still early days as far as my human-character designs went. Let's be honest though, I prefer drawing monstas.
