The Winter King and the Salesman, from a children’s book I made back in uni. I’ve recently been getting around to updating the character, with the intention of remaking the book.
I’m currently streaming some Jack and the Winter King work over on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/zestydoesthings
Give me a follow on Twitch to catch other streams and/or also follow me on Twitter to see when I go live.
Mostly finished my 3 Pinocchio illustrations! Have a sneaky-peek for your troubles.
Can anyone guess my colour pallete from this example? (Hint- 3 colours I use ALOT)
I am posting this as a huge thank you to everyone that gave me feedback on my business card design- You were all a huge help, and it was lovely to get back such a nice response.
Right, no more Pinocchio till I finish the project... maybe...
Yay! My hardback copy of my children's book, Jack and the Winter King arrived!
I am very impressed with the print and paper quality, it feels like a 'real' book! This one is going in my portfolio.

Low res screen capture of the first double page spread of my book.
I still have to draw Jack, but at least the background is done! Now I sleep...
Colour sketch of the Winter King's Kingdom.
Another little experiment, this time much more stylized and simple.
Im think about going for a mix between the previous experiment and the simplicity of this.
Digital layering experiment. Emphasis on 'experiment', this is by no means how it will look in the end. =)
Still, it came out well.
