Blood transfusions save lives — no matter the donor's sex — to say that donor sex is related to adverse outcomes is at best, blatant misinformation with limited if any scientific backing, and at worst, modern day phrenology that's playing dice with people's lives.

Before JK Rowling fell into the anti-trans blackhole, she campaigned against Scottish independence.

She helped bankroll the campaign to keep Scotland in the UK, and a lot of pro-independence campaigners who were fans felt disappointed and let down.

During the campaign she referred to pro-independence voters as death eaters, and became good friends with misogynists who frequently targeted women in political roles (councillor or member of Parliament)

Scotland recently passed a law to reform the Gender Recognition Act. This makes this process for trans people in Scotland easier by reducing the bureaucratic red-tape and invasive procedures that people have to jump through to obtain a Gender Recognition Certificate.

JK Rowling and her bigoted friends have been attacking this legislation and trans people for some time.

The British Government, in an unprecedented move, have decided they are going to block the legislation. They have not done this to any law since the Scottish Parliament was reinstated.

Scotland leans more to the left than England does. By doing this the British government (and the opposition parties that aren’t fighting against it) are surrendering the progressive case for the United Kingdom to still exist.

If they can override this law, they can override any law. With over 50% of Scotland supporting independence and younger, more progressive people becoming eligible to vote every day, the death of the United Kingdom is inevitable.

I just wanted to add that the Senedd Cymru (Welsh Parliment) also recently announced a new LGBTQ+ Action plan

It contains a wide range of things aimed at improving our lives here but, crucially, it also includes plans for reforms to make legal gender recognition easier, just like Scotland.

However, to implement such laws, the Senedd need more devolution powers; which means negotiating with the conservative UK government.

Seeing their reaction to Scotlands attempts to implement the same laws, as well as talk of wanting to remove our devolved health powers (after our government refused to ‘stay in line’ in regards to covid) and the conservatives general stance that ‘giving Cymru self governance powers was a mistake we need to undo,’ it seems unlikely that such powers will be granted.

while independence isn’t as popular here as it is in Scotland or Ireland its been gaining momentum the past few years with the UK govs bungling of well... everything. So a denial of more devolved powers, or worse, an attempt to strip us of what little self governance we do have, is likely to speed up independence here too

Been roughly 24 hours since Musk purchased twitter and mass-fired whole teams, and twitter already resembles 4chan.

Twitters debt went from around 50 million to over a billion in this deal. That's an increase of over 50 fold. I doubt Twitter is making that kind of money to handle this.

Tech firms usually have over priced stock anyways and EM bought Twitter at a premium over what it was sitting at. Plus EM had to stake his own personal wealth to 51% of twitters worth since he is taking it private. This lands him with a bunch of debt he is not going to be able to pay back from that investment.

On top of that, Twitter user grow is slowing, and protecting to go down (this was even before EMs bullshit) so they will have trouble getting investment money to stay afloat, meaning cutting employees, meaning cutting development, meaning staying behind the social media curve, which means even less users.

I think the people in charge of Twitter saw this as a huge payday at a time when their company was facing a down turn, and just thought "Fuck yeah we will take your 44 Billion." If you look at the timeline of this, EM tried everything to get out of this deal and Twitter just held firm and forced the sale at the original price. So EM was forced to buy Twitter, or back out which would have landed him a criminal charge and been forced to pay Twitter that money anyways.

This was such a huge fuck up, I hope some tesla whales dump their stock to make this situation even worse for EM.
