“until we get this country back on the rails” girl it was never on the rails its been a shitshow since day one what usa are u talking about
🇨🇺The world stands with Cuba and against the US blockade!
Once again, an overwhelming majority has voted in the United Nations General Assembly against the US blockade on Cuba. 187 countries voted to end the blockade. The US and its ally Israel voted against and Moldova abstained from voting. The world, as it has done since 1992, once again sends a clear message to the US to end it's imperialist practices against Cuba and against other Global South countries.
i cant stop thinking this. two strategic very educated leaders with a clear materialist understanding of the world who were motivated by national liberation, not fanatic antisemitism. i cant help but feel like thats a huge part of why israel targeted them
In case you're wondering how responsible the US is for every murdered child, aid worker, and civilian in Palestine, it's 70%.
It's as much an American genocide as an Israeli one.
This report touches on the relationship between U.S. weapons manufacturers and the Israeli government, which have maintained longstanding commercial relations. The U.S. government has cited these commercial ties as one of the reasons why the U.S. should continue to supply foreign militaries, including the Israeli military, with weapons and equipment.
Circular reasoning 101 and profit over lives, peace, and reason >:( >:( >:(
IF YOU LIVE IN THE US AND WOULD RATHER NOT DIE FROM BEING HIT BY A CAR
please submit a comment on the NHTSA proposal to implement pedestrian safety test requirements for cars and trucks!!
It would finally make manufacturers design vehicles that are safer for pedestrians and cyclists, instead of the massive wall-of-steel front ends that are excessively deadly for no reason. Europe already has rules like this, but unless we comment in approval, they're not going to do anything to halt the increasing pedestrian deaths in our country.
And please share, even if you don't live in the US!
Calling the findings of its comprehensive survey of American workplace practices “total bullshit,” the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment issued a report Monday concluding that you should be able to retire after, like, six years of working full time. “We evaluated the data around current U.S. employment rates, and our research shows that it’s basically crazy that we have to waste our whole damn lives working before we can retire,” said report co-author Sarah Middleton, who explained that six years is actually a really long time and that it sounds like more than enough labor for one person. “Our research found that people have to work and stuff or else nothing would get done, but anything more than half a decade or so seems cruel and excessive. That has to be hundreds of hours of work, right? And after consulting with experts across the field, we determined that six years was a totally reasonable amount of time to pay your dues before you get to kick back and chill.
Shai Davidai (the associate professor who got banned from Columbia for harassing students) forgot to switch to his alt account to post his fake "antisemitism" he could later pretend to be upset by.
"Every accusation is a confession" has got to be studied when it comes to Zionists. This is so embarrassing but so funny. Constantly trying to play the victims lol
it really is the most Pokémon thing ever that they made a route full of rapid water that if you're lucky you might navigate in just the right spot to find an area you can dive, and you follow that along and find a cave where everything is written in Braille - like, the language made for the visually-impaired which can only be read by touching it, which you obviously cannot do through an LCD screen - which if you somehow manage to read it you find out you need to A) use Dig, which if you do happen to have on you you then need B) a fucking Wailord and Relicanth, two late-game kinda hard to get Pokémon I guarantee extremely few people would ever have used one of on their team never mind both water-types at the same time for some reason, and if you DO manage to do all of that it unlocks three caves across the region which it doesn't even tell you where they are and you have to solve more braille puzzles and your prize is 3 pokemon that just arent even good
'if you somehow manage to read it'
This is really funny because the japanese, european and australian instruction manuals came with braille guides that talk about what it is, the history and how to read it.
The American release said fuck them kids.
- oh that's actually really cool that it includes some history about it I never knew that. That turns this whole thing into a really cool lesson for kids actually and a really nice thing to teach them at a young age
- LMAO
The most American thing that has ever happened
inb4 “that doesn’t look like a bald eagle” congratulations! you have been fooled by the juvenile plumage of the bald eagle. this man rescued a teenage idiot bald eagle. with a gun.
I think adults need summer vacation. Like let's just close down all our jobs for three months and play outside. Please. I'm so tired.
Love to see this post getting notes again. None of us are ok.
i may just be french but do americans really not get paid summer vacations? you don't go to the beach with your kids? "There is no federal or state statutory minimum paid vacation or paid public holidays" am i reading this right? like i'm not trying to rub anyone's face in it but you're just stuck in the rat race year-round until you're old and that's normal and accepted??? in the 21st century???
They also claim that Kroger’s partnership with Microsoft (MSFT) on developing its EDGE smart shelves, which display digital price tags and ads, is a cause for concern as the technology allegedly has the potential to “exploit sensitive consumer data” through facial recognition tools. “Through a partnership with Microsoft, Kroger plans to place cameras at its digital displays, which will use facial recognition tools to determine the gender and age of a customer captured on camera and present them with personalized offers and advertisements on the EDGE Shelf,” reads the letter. “EDGE will allow Kroger to use customer data to build personalized profiles of each customer, and then use those profiles ‘to determine how much price hiking each of us can tolerate,’ quickly updating and displaying the customer’s maximum willingness to pay on the digital price tag.”
this is the kind of thing that scares the living shit out of me. we are sliding so quickly into this technocratic dystopia and it feels like the brakes are giving out.
WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK?!?!?!?!?
How in all the Goddamn Burning Hells is this even Legal to CONTEMPLATE?!?!?
"If the US did universal healthcare we'd have to wait months for procedures like they do in Canada" in the US it takes five to eight months to get a dentist appointment and four to get a general check-up.
#will admit#we do have a bit of a doctor shortage here#though that’s not because of public healthcare#that’s because of how medical schools and residency is run here#doctors trained abroad have a hell of a time getting residency here#(and that’s not like. doctors trained abroad who need upgrading. that’s not immigrants either. this is Canadian citizens who trained#in programs recognized by Canada) (via @miazma)
The US has a doctor shortage as well, due to the combined forces of "people treating doctors like absolute dogshit during covid" and "older doctors retiring early during covid" and "medical school being hideously expensive" and "doctors are now expected to spend like 2+ extra hours a day answering messages on MyChart and so they burn out and go into private practice for rich folk" and "the best money in doctoring is being a private doctor for rich people and there's so much less corporate bullshit" and "healthcare practices keep getting bought out by bigger companies that are horribly managed". it's a shitshow.
Choosing to believe that owning Tumblr just does that to a company. It's like a cursed amulet.
