I was about to be irritated at a shitty "kids' education" website on 1770s clothing but then I learned that there's a staymaker buried at King's Chapel and now I'm just delighted to know the gravesite of a clothing worker from that era and I want to take him flowers
I WAS TODAY FUCKING YEARS OLD WHEN I LEARNED THAT THOMAS PAINE WAS A MASTER STAYMAKER?!?!
THE COMMON SENSE GUY. BASICALLY MADE BRAS. FOR LIKE 8 YEARS OF HIS LIFE COUNTING THE APPRENTICESHIP
imagine if you're like. a random lady in England. and you found out that the guy you bought a support garment from one time is now publishing seditious pamphlets in the colonies
things he supported: -sedition -titties
I really really REALLY need to see more people makimg the connection between trump and his russian handlers tbh.......like i know we've somehow gone through the looking glass of putin apologia but that piece abt the NYT you just posted, the bots, the interference: in the bag for trump? Yes. But i dont believe its due to his or even republican power or popularity or forcefulness.......this is a man with so much debt and kompromat thats only getting worse!! Not to sound kwazy BUT WE ARE BEING FULLY INFLITRATED and at the risk of conspiracizing i think the russians are ALSO behind the Times's demise along with so many other information centers etc. Like i KNOW these leftists love him but like. Wouldnt they care a LITTLE abt being manipulated like this???
Trump is 100% an active, willing, and eager Russian agent. That's not even paranoid conspiracy theory, that's just the only reasonable interpretation of the facts:
NOT TO MENTION that in the next two years after the Helsinki conference where Trump kowtowed to Putin in every way, the CIA admitted to losing huge and unusually high numbers of classified informants around the world (not CIA agents, but people secretly working for the American government in often-hostile countries):
Once again, this all happened when Trump was in office, when he was actively handing over CIA intel to the Kremlin against the wishes of the entire national security establishment, and which other experts have suggested was directly as a result of Trump handing over the identities of American informants to Russia, including those stationed in Russia itself:
Now, I could go on, but you get the point. Not to mention that Trump just lost a major UK-based lawsuit against Christopher Steele, the former MI6 agent who was the first to provide documents linking Trump to Russia in the controversial "Steele dossier":
And now: Trump is deeply in hock for hundreds of millions in legal fees and punitive judgments that are only increasing by the day, he somehow just came up with $90 million to appeal the judgment against E. Jean Carroll (nobody knows where he got this money either), and Russian state TV spends all their time openly salivating for Trump's return to the presidency (so he can hand over Ukraine and the rest of NATO and, as he literally said, "let Russia do whatever the hell they want.") I know we're largely numb to all the awful treasonous shit that Trump does, but like. This isn't a conspiracy theory, this is just what's going on in plain sight, and while the Online Leftists have recently become so stupid that I honestly can't tell if it's just terminal brainworms or active Russian psyops, it's strongly indicated that it is in fact a mix of both:
So, like. Just some food for thought.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Trump has made a deal with Putin to get the House GOP to continue blockading Ukraine aid, in exchange for Russia's help in winning the election.
Cannot possibly emphasize enough how much this is an active and deliberate collaboration by some of the literal worst people in the world.
Trump doesn't need to make a deal with Republicans to get them to block Ukraine aid. Republicans see Putin as a fellow conservative, they care more about THAT than democracy or law or US Interests, and they've been building connections with him since before the George W. Bush presidency.
People forget it, or just weren't aware enough of politics at the time to know it, but GWB was weirdly friendly to Putin during his presidency, and this coincided with evangelicals starting to effusively praise Putin as a "godly" leader(mostly and explicitly because of his persecution of queer people, but also cuz he's a tyrant and conservatives love tyrants), and generally talking up his regime, and with Republican pols doing all sorts of skeezy deals with him in Eastern Europe, helping him to prop up pro-Kremlin dictators. At the same time the GWB administration did little(or nothing, honestly, that I ever read about) at all to push back against Putin's campaign to build violent, often fascist, separatist client-movements in the post-soviet countries, culminating of course in GWB 1)promising Georgia the US would support their sovereignty then 2) standing by doing nothing during Putin's brutal invasion of Georgia in support of the violent separatist clients he was funding in THAT country. This would continue throughout the Obama years as Republicans pitched Putin to themselves as Obama's geopolitical "rival"; talking him up to truly absurd degrees especially online.
tl;dr: The Republican Party was already in bed with Putin by, at least, 2008, and didn't need any convincing from Trump. Remember that JEFF SESSIONS(look at this dude's history with the party) was an early supporter of his campaign and PERSONALLY INVOLVED in all the Russia shit his campaign did. Remember that Mitch McConnell Refused to Join Obama in condemning Russian espionage interfering with the 2016 election. The Republican Party, to its highest levels, sees Putin as its ally, and democracy as the biggest obstacle to their rule.
Trump is out of his mind and desperate. His speech yesterday in Ohio proved it. Some thoughts: http://dlvr.it/T4CYhl
