Local DND Group Discovers Diplomacy Tool Besides Murder
commissioned portrait of someone’s gnoll PC! Her nickname is Nom Nom.
Can you share more funny moments from your DnD campaign please
I’ll do you one better.
For context: This happened during our Curse of Strahd game, which is now leaning into Homebrew territory because my players refuse to go to Ravenloft.
Not pictured: The unicorn, immediately after taking falling damage, also got electrocuted into oblivion because one of the players is cursed, courtesy of the Amber Temple.
Needless to say, I was thrilled concerned about how much I packed into the dungeon crawl to wear them down, only to realize they were fully capable of doing it themselves.
brutal battle bunny bea make brain go brrr 😳
some Fley-sthetic
Thri-kreen traveler (based of of a Jerusalem cricket) for @agni-kai13 /// Thank you so much//
@a-wild-kobold-appeared @wondlas
as-yet-unnamed goblin reading her your nice messages... (where did the goblin get a smartphone? Don't worry about it)
gnoll for initiative! It's more Sweet Pea.
She's joined by a goblin friend in these sketches-- I really like the idea of an "Oops! All Monsters" kind of story or campaign, with a cast of characters from traditionally "evil" or mistrusted races having an adventure together.
The paladin kept telling me that making poisons was a waste of time and money because “Firebolt is more consistent damage” and “abilities that force the enemy to roll CON saves are bad because pretty much everyone has a positive CON modifier” and “poison is the most commonly-resisted damage type anyway,” but last session I got to use the HELL out of my poisons against an encounter like this, and it was FANTASTIC
The Redditor urge to “Um actually”
Another gift that I can finally post! My wife is in a D&D game with a bunch of friends, and even though I don’t play with them, I wanted to make them something to commemorate their first completed campaign :)
A comic I did over a year ago based off the events of a one-shot. Our group ran DDAL 05-02 The Black Road, and we were tasked to escort a caravan across a desert and assist in making a delivery with some NPCs. Well the NPCs tasked with driving the wagons had no type of description attached to them, and our dungeon master felt we would have more reason to be attached to these guys if we had some part in naming/describing them. The rogue and I (the bard) just came up with whatever dumb names we could think of off the top of our head, but the cleric figured she’d use a random name generator instead. Thus Peaceblade Havilar– coolness personified and dragonborn extraordinaire– was born.
…She didn’t last very long of course, since her coolness of personality did nothing to buff her commoner stat block, but she’ll live on in our memories… or something like that.
Goddess of life dnd commission for the lovely @shadowedcries
I wonder if multilingual dnd characters work like multilingual people irl
Character 1: hey can you pass me the (demonic screeching)
Character 2: (visibly disturbed)
Character 1: (takes mundane object out of character 2s hands) sorry I forgot the word for it in common...
This made me laugh really hard. It deserved a comic. 😆
Fun fact: this is exactly how the schtroumpfs (smurfs in English) came to be invented.
...what? do tell
“On 23 October 1958 'Les Schtroumpfs' made their debut in print. Their name was based on an inside joke between Peyo and Franquin. As they enjoyed dinner in a restaurant Peyo asked Franquin for the salt, but was unable to remember its name and instead of "Passez-moi le sel" he blurted out: "Passez-moi le schtroumpf". This made-up word amused them the entire night and thus, when Peyo looked for a name for the little creatures he didn't have to think long.”
my wife started this really cool choose-your-own-adventure story on our patreon discord and its so good i had to draw fanart. The character in the second panel is signing so I tried a different type of speech bubble to describe it
in d&d we met some gaudy high-fashion designer dude and i got a fancy hat, and after designing all sorts of ridiculously ornate things i remembered My Favorite joke to make in d&d: objects so completely mundane in the modern world that they dont come up in fantasy settings. she made this face when she saw a man described as roguish.
d&d adventures: we stole a nightmare horse from a vampire’s castle and he’s our friend now
