I actually feel really bad for zelena. The way she described her baby. Someone who will love her and how she won’t let anyone turn it against her. That is exactly how emotionally abused children act. Their parents and family doesn’t love them so they have a baby to finally feel love. And considering her mother did abandon her and her adoptive father mentally and emotionally abused her, how she loved rumple and how he treated her, is it really any wonder she went evil/wicked. Evil isn’t born. It’s made. And the people who were supposed to love and care for her made her this way.

Zelena’s hats, by request of @freifraufischer

Love them or hate them, Zelena’s hats are an integral part of her look, and indeed for the Wicked Witch of the West going all the way back to William Wallace Denslow’s illustrations in the original publication of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. (Denslow’s version was a pointed hat nearly as tall as the witch herself.) It’s just hard to imagine this character without an iconic black hat.

I confess, I rather like the Storybrooke hats, but I’m a hat person in general.

I am definitely a hat person - I have a huge collection of hats.

That last hat, with the jaunty little feather, is utterly sublime.

The Best of Zelena

An anon requested that I do a compilation post for Zelena and I was happy to oblige!

There are a lot of subtle ways in which Zelena’s wardrobe seems to mirror Regina’s. Her red velvet dress from series 3 reminds me a lot of Regina’s red velvet dress. And then her more ‘witchy’ outfits, with the strong black silhouettes and feathers, remind me a lot of various Evil Queen outfits. So I like how the costume department seems to keep the sisters linked even if Zelena also clearly has her own style.

I love the mint coloured dress and matching cloak Zelena wears in Camelot - the colour is incredibly flattering for Rebecca Mader and it really makes her eyes shine.

Okay, guys. I am working on an AU fic thing, and I’ve been trying to figure out age differences between a lot of the characters.  From what I remember of the casting call for “Sisters”, Zelena is supposed to be about three years older than Regina.  Zelena was sent back to Oz, came back and trained with Rumple for a bit, and then returned to Oz where she banished Glinda and took over and stayed until she came back to take over in season three.  They never actually stated it that I remember, but the implication was that she hadn’t been there that long.  

So if she was in Oz during the curse, not Storybrooke or the Enchanted Forest, why is she not 28 years older than everyone else?  Have they ever explained this, or addressed it all? If I’ve missed something, please explain it to me because it’s driving me bananas.

I think it’s assumed that the curse froze most, if not all storytale lands? Or it could just be another A&E plothole

The reason I didn’t assume the curse froze the other fairytale lands was because it devastated the Enchanted Forest (except the part Cora had frozen) and the other lands appear to be unscathed.

At this point I think I’m going to assume plothole at this point and just make something up for my fic.

I suggest two things, 1. The curses time pausing ability spread through all magical lands. (its destructive ability not so much) or 2. People in Oz age differently/Zelena's magic helped her age slower once she got her pendent, somewhat like Rumple.
