I loveee fantasy settings doing magical exhaustion:
always always a fan of the character whos been wounded in the abdomen and being helped to walk by their friend, arm slung over their shoulder or around their waist, up until the moment the pain or weakness catchess up to them and their steps falter and they sink to their knees, desperately trying to muster the strength to stand again
and their companion staggering as they try their best to keep them from collapsing completely.

It is finally time to rest. Characters A and B sit together near something (ex. Tree, bush, pole). Character A takes a nap, but is later woken up by a feeling of coldness.
B is on the verge of death, as while A slept, B suddenly reacted (nightmare/startled by something), which opened their stitched wounds. What will A do?

i don’t know who decided that happy endings were boring but i wanna fight them. happy endings make all the bad shit that characters go through worth it, there’s nothing boring about that.
