I'm going to kill myself.
My Open Letter to "Smart" People
Today, I went to Chicago's Future Soldier Event from 0700-1400. Seven hours in charge of 120+ soldiers from my region, I think I hyperextended my brain from all the talking I did. Through the endless conversation, one thing really stood out to me -- many, many people think the majority of people are stupid. That being said, from my perspective, it seems like the majority of people think that the vast majority of people are stupid.
Here's what I think. I think it depends on how you want to quantify "stupid." I'm smart in some ways and stupid in others. I think that describes a lot of people, actually. I don't care what the cynics have to say, I believe we're all inclined toward different types of intelligences. I'm a visual/sensual person that excels in emotional intelligence, whereas I'm stupid when it comes to mechanical/logical intelligence. I wish I were more mechanical whereas mechanical people often wish they could think more abstractly.
If one thing is for sure though, everyone is ignorant about something... and its the willful ignorance that gets to me.
