This labor day weekend, I went to see my friend's wedding in Virginia (congrats to them both!). For such a quick 3-day trip, I had a TON of fun. The trip out there, seeing my friends Jimmy, Eric, and Dan, making new friends, the dinner rehearsal, the bachelor party, the wedding ceremony + reception, and the trip back were all super memorable. They say the journey is half the fun; I'd happen to agree. Some of the highlights include:
- dancing to Electric Avenue with the Southwest Airlines flight attendant at the gate in front of the entire passenger population
- being the official British "opinion guy" during the wedding rehearsal
- making east coast friends with the groomsmen and bridesmaids
- the marital advice round-robins at Buffalo Wild Wings and at the hotel suite
- watching Jimmy + Haley get hitched in a class-act ceremony
- the beautiful oceanview at the wedding reception
- driving + chatting with two of my favorite lieutenants
- the abandonment at the airport
- sleeping in an RAV4 outside of Trader Joe's. LOL.
- the Norfolk breakfast extravaganza
On my connecting flight back to Panama City Beach, I had a 4-hour layover in Maryland. What does that mean? I got to see family! :) I'm going to have to make my way out there more.
All-in-all, it was an awesome experience. Back to reality though -- flight school kicks off again in another week, and there's lots to memorize for the Black Hawk in the meantime.
