Yesterday I took (hopefully) my last flight in a scout/observation helicopter. The Kiowa is a fun little bird, but as a military pilot, I wouldn't want to fly something as vulnerable as that little guy... one engine, zero armor, and the co-pilot has an M4. I passed my Basic Warfighter Skills checkride, so now it's on to the last event of primary: the record APFT. Once I finish my PT test on Monday, the Order of Merit List will be finalized for Wednesday's aircraft selection. Finally. :)
The 'I-Just-Passed-My-Advanced-Instruments-Checkride' Dance
On to Basic Warfighting Skills! 30 days from now, I will be selecting my advanced airframe. Black Hawks, Chinooks, Kiowas, or Apaches, here I come...
Aeromedical = WIN
Army helicopter flight school, "Training Day 5." I passed my aeromedical examination with the 6th highest score in the class, putting me in the top 10%. As long as I keep doing 90%+ in the class and ace my physical fitness test, there's no reason I couldn't be #1, #2, or #3 in my flight class. Let's hear it for motivation. This time next week, I'll be at the flight line and in the cockpit of the TH-67. Time to study some serious 5 & 9's.
