as much as the Natalia storyline annoys me because it feels out-of-place, I don’t actually think that the couch thing is “regressing” or “Buck making the same mistakes again.”

The couch metaphor started because Buck’s last two girlfriends CAME with couches. As in, they forced their own preferences/taste onto him without him giving any input. The same with the couch Margaret bought him. He had no real say in it, she just got it FOR him. At least with Natalia, it’s something they’re going to do TOGETHER, as in they both get a say, they both make the decision as a team. And that IS progress, even though I still think it wasn’t the right choice for Buck’s overarching storyline

If they’re choosing it together, which is good, what do you think will end up making it be the wrong couch?

I kind of think the couch metaphor is done being a thing tbh! Like it started at the beginning of s6 and the payoff for it came at the end of s6. I don’t see them dragging it out further

#mm it was about buck getting over his fear of jumping back into relationships #it was about buck always letting other people choose for him #and now he's feeling more confident #and he has chosen natalia to help him pick out a couch #making a choice for himself #just like eddie has gotten over his own fears and made a move towards marisol #they're learning and growing and getting to a good place #and i love that for them #911 6x18 #the couch of it all #in my 911 era
