I am 28 years old. I live under the constant bombing and aggression on Gaza. Here we struggle with a life of death and constant loss. We lost our house where we used to live. We have been displaced more than 3 times from one place to another in search of safety. In fact, no place is safe. We had so many ambitions and hopes. I graduated from university, majoring in information technology, and intended to travel, work, and many other things. But the war came and destroyed all of that. We also had a sweets shop as a source of livelihood.🇵🇸🍉

We no longer have any source of livelihood. We also lack access to food and drinking water. We suffered from many diseases such as malnutrition due to the lack of a suitable environment for life. Here we live in hunger and fear. My father also suffers from chronic diseases and kidney problems (kidney stones) for which we cannot find a cure. Our lives are in danger. ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help

I recommend you prioritize these initiatives in 2 ways:

1) When it comes to individual fundraisers, only prioritize those that are in incredibly vulnerable medical or injured situations and need high costs to take care of medical issues.

2) Then prioritize the aid initiatives that exist. Be it Mona's distribution initiative (Instagram, GFM), or any of the trusted others I'm seeing circulating around. To maximize the spread of the goods and provide relief for a larger number of people.

The border hasn't opened in a long time, so prioritizing mutual aid initiatives is more effective than singular fundraisers, UNLESS those fundraisers are for people in mortal danger and need medical care FAST.

It's really ridiculous how we had literal video proof of items being bought and distributed but GoFundMe still deleted HelpGazaChildren's campaign because there weren't any itemized receipts for the aid... Like I understand that in most other situations they're required, but how can you expect receipts from a literal warzone where people are constantly fleeing for their lives??

@abo-ataa, our friend Hussam from HelpGazaChildren, had dedicated all his time and energy into helping displaced people in Gaza, even when he himself was displaced, to the point where he doesn't even have a proper tent for him and his family.

And his personal fundraiser was also cancelled by GoFundMe, where they didn't allow him to collect the 9,000 Euros he raised!

Please try to contribute to his campaign where he's raising funds for him and his family to try and survive the harsh winter. Any amount, no matter how small, will go a long way in supporting them throughout all this.

please think of the disabled people of gaza. please think of the diabetic people of gaza. please think of the neurodivergent people of gaza. please think of those whose lives are relying on medicine that has either stopped coming in due to the blockade, or is available in such scarcity that its price has skyrocketed.

we're approaching winter. on top of the challenge of securing waterproof tents and sufficiently warm clothing, some diabetic people in gaza have stopped taking their insulin as they can no longer afford it. those who are able to acquire it for now know every shot may be their last.

his father is diabetic.

one of his younger siblings is blind, and another is autistic.

imagine that kind of pressure during a genocide.
