*MC is known as Emme Xi. Reader is male. Last name is mentioned as Xi
It wasn't easy taking a step back while your younger sister had to get the production company back off the ground. Sure you could have stepped in, but you were busy directing the "next big hit", and couldn't afford to take the time off to help with the start up without jeprodisring your own career. That and you distinctly remembered the phone call about it.
" - you're sure you don't want me to stop and help? I could do it between projects"
"Miracle Finder needs someone who is always going to be there. You have something else to focus on"
"Are you sure? You could still take time to do more. With Anna already working on it - I could come out when needed..."
"Call me if you need anything"
And that was the end of it. You hadn't had much time to check in with how your latest show had taken off. It was difficult - keeping in touch and finding out about company updates from more than the sporadic emails from Anna, whatever appeared on the news, and the brief conversations yo had with Emme between takes.
As often as you could you would direct episodes and segments for Emme. Making sure to spend the maximum time on set with her, and doing the travel shoots when possible. However you didn't want to interfere too much - Emme wanted to do it by herself and you were going to let her.
That's actually where the regrets started. You had been so busy making sure that nothing went wrong on set that you had taken a larger step back then you realized. Once you realized that there were not one, but four other men circling Emme you started to delegate responsibilities and made plans to show up on the next set of Miracle Finder.
As your newest PA was busy booking your trip, you took a moment to think about the vultures surrounding your sibling. Kiro, the beloved idol of Loveland. Lucien, the youngest professor at Loveland University. Victor, the current CEO of LFG and the financial backer of Miracle Finder. Gavin, former delinquent turned law enforcement officer who had been a year below you in school.
How had all these men gotten in so close with them? The only one he could understand is Gavin, who had actually gone to school with your younger sibling. Lucien was helping out with Miracle Finder thanks to an old connection, and was also your next door neighbor??? Victor looked...familiar but you weren't going to take a chance there. But Kiro, Kiro was a top idol. How had he become your "close friend"?
How close were any of these men to your precious sibling? And why did it bother you so much...
