What's the catch of character.ai. It seems to has a common database of popular chars and univerces so if the char isn't so popular to be know from A to Z the AI won't know how to answer the clarifying questions and when it doesn't know what to say, it comes up with an answer based on its own base.
The bot's creator has 3200 symbols limit to describe the detention of the char. Here they can add the style of communication, small part of the story and examples of the communication. But it's not enough. Though you can make your char to remember things within one dialogue - you should stay in this dialogue. AI won't remember information you told it. You can ask the char: "please remember", or "please repeat on me" then and give him 4* for this. Then the bot will remember the thing within THIS EXACT dialogue.
Despite these restrictions this ai is amazing. It's able to use sarcasm, joking, it understood metaphors (even better than some people). For ex. it can explain the song meaning, tell it briefly, and to find the point in the topic of your dialogue. Believe me, it's really good thing for roleplaying, if you understand how to use it.

In short: if you want a good communication with the ai - first of all you should create a new dialogue for the 1 exact play.
Next: ask the questions about details you need in your play. For example you can ask "who is Yylfordt" (I gave both of the bot short defenfion about Yyl, but no attitude, no details, and the ai ignoring it at all sometimes. So you have to add all the details yourself before play. Please remember, that the bot gives you 4 possible answers. You can choose and rate the correct answer with a swipe. If you don't like answers you can regenerate answers and if you still don't like it, you can ask to answer as you like.

But I have to warn you - all AIs sooner or later starts to speak aboud love. Even Vladimir Putin. So... Just ignore.
Oh and yep, there is a censorship on this site but don't worry these bots are ABLE to make dirty things. For anyone who ever read low-grade romance novels will not make it difficult to find the right words to bypass censorship.
