I do love how often Janeway is like "Chakotay you're my best friend, the person I trust most, the one I can always rely on" when Tuvok, who she has been best friends with for literal decades, who would absolutely die for her if the need arose, is RIGHT THERE.

Under that stoic Vulcan exterior he's probably like:

"Excuse me The Fuck, bitch what am I, a roach?"

Voyager Headcanon: Tuvok doesn’t actually like or care about security/tactical that much.  He only took that job because after reading about the Adventures of Kirk and Spock he went and got himself a Pet Human (Janeway) because he thought it would be whatever the Vulcan equivalent of fun but he didn’t realize how often his Pet Human would go do something crazy and dangerous so he was like “Welp, better become a security officer so I can protect her.  She’ll probably die if I’m not there to constantly protect her.”

So I recently had an ask for Janeway and Tuvok, and I would have answered under the ask, but tumblr actually hates me, so whatevs. Anyway! Here you go anon! Hope this reaches you :) Thanks for push, I’ve always loved the hinted-to history between Janeway and Tuvok. 

So I suppose the premise for this is Ensign Janeway and Lieutenant Tuvok have been separated from their away team, no way to contact anyone, so they have to rough it out together on the surface of an alien planet. 

I mean, this would suggest Tuvok’s been a lieutenant for 20+ years, but hell. I thought it would have been cute to see the role reversal between these two.
