Choosing to believe that Verin loves hanging out with his fugitive brother, specifically because whenever he decides to do annoying sibling behavior, and Essek complains about it, he gets to be like, "What are you gonna do about it? Risk getting executed to tell Mom?"
The counterpoint of course being that when Essek decides to do annoying sibling behavior, and Verin complains about it, then Essek gets to be like, "What are you gonna do about it? Get me executed just so you can tell Mom?"

The funniest part of this is Scanlan is the one who true-polymorphed the group, so, unless he undoes it now, he is leaving them as centaurs with no particular recourse
#i dunno if anyone's brought this up yet#but looking through the tags there's people mentioning other methods they could use to dispel it without scanlan#and sure it's debatable the wording on true polymorph so some of those might work im not arguing that#HOWEVER. the funniest part of attempting to dispel it without scanlan. regardless of your method.#is that most of the band will be whatever species they were before the centaurs#lionel however. will not be a half orc. lionel... will be a duck.#cr spoilers

#im sure there's somewhere in the campaign he points this out too but i can't find it off the top of my head#(pyrah maybe?)#but yeah no the ripley fight may have been shorter and very different in tlovm but it felt so true to the campaign i adored it#like taliesin is a player with a lot of situational awareness! he tracks everything#not just what he's doing but matt and the other players too#and especially with percy he's so tricksy because he also knows what details he remembers that others have likely forgotten#(his suicide threat against orthax in the briarwood arc was real in tlovm. in the campaign? that gun broke in the previous episode)#(bad misfire and he didn't get a chance to fix it)#(and it's something that only really works in a ttrpg bc like. in any other medium the broken gun would be obvious)#(but the dm and other players didn't remember. and because this story is created in their heads that makes it true!)#and my favourite thing about tlovm that isn't pointed out but is still so present - percy doesn't have the correct ammo for ripley's guns#every gun he picks up he fires the amount of shots that that style of gun can hold and then he immediately drops it#because he knows it's dead weight at that point. and that's so BEAUTIFULLY taliesin i am enamoured#the legend of vox machina#percy de rolo

Ive been a bit sceptical of season 3 of tlovm after watching the first 3 episodes but today i watched 4-9 and im insane about how fun the show is. There are bits that are by themselves so bad they are funny to me personally (THAT song and Matron sending Vax jumpscares to startle him while hes sleeping for example) but overall the way the story is "remixed" and how the action is made and how they managed to put so many story details in is so great and fun and as a massive c1 fan im having a great time. i ended up liking even the decisions ive previously only read about here and was like ugh. most of it is fun and cool actually! and the choices were obviously made with love!

People absolutely trashing and being hateful to CR need to read this snippet from Sam's interview about "The Legend of Vox Machina."
Just important to know the cast of CR had no idea the season was going to be renewed for S4! Hence why Bard's Lament was probably changed, why a lot was pushed into the ending and an almost "farewell" sort of ending was given to us. They did what they thought was best in case they weren't able to return!
I've seen people on here saying CR have no idea how to write their characters or respect their fans to tell the story "correctly" and have an obligation to because of the kickstarter campaign. Maybe take a step back and think of the other factors that may have had some involvement in the making of this season.
#yeah exactly!#like s4 got confirmed so recently s3 must have already been made#they did pretty good#(though i do kinda wanna bite the person writing that article for how they've framed bard's lament)#(like not their fault i'm sure! but 'can't remember his mother's name' HE NEVER TOLD THEM)#(that's kinda the point of bard's lament like it's a dramatic moment that leaves everyone speechless but ultimately scanlan is wrong)#(they did care and they did ask about his personal life and he deflected every time)#(and it's really not fair to criticise them for not doing something you stopped them from doing)#(and also comments like 'we went to the feywild to fix your fucking daddy issues but you've NEVER done anything for me' are uncalled for)

percy chooses to style his hair like that. he could be gender supreme by not gelling up his hair like that but instead he actively chooses the triangle every day. truly this is a showcase of his self-hatred & deeply destructive tendencies
