Strung Out Photographs (A Billy Moran Fanfic)- Chapter 5

A/N: Hey look I’m not dead

BILLY’S P.O.V

She had a beautiful laugh.

She had a beautiful laugh, and she didn’t even realize it.

It was Monday now, and Rob, Stephen, Mike and I were sitting in Rob’s studio basement, trying to write music for a new song.

“Not to come off as a stalker, but do you live in California?” I asked Carver. It was around the end of the convention, and Rob and Rich were currently on stage doing their Kings of Con panel. Carver had come back to the green room apparently done with taking pictures for the weekend.

“Not stalker-ish in the slightest. Yeah, near Studio City, actually.”

Carver and I were sitting on the couch, typing to each other on my laptop as she was editing photos with hers.

“Hey, I’m not too far from there, maybe I can see you around sometime?”

“I don’t know, if you’re lucky.” She gave me a wink before turning back to her own laptop. I could feel my own face going bright red. What the hell have I gotten myself into?

“Billy! Billy! Billy! Billy!” I could hear a voice yell.

“Huh, what?”

“Dude you’ve been staring off into space with a smile on your face for like 5 solid minutes.” said Stephen, sitting back down behind the drum set.

“Sorry, sorry. Mind just all over the place today I guess.” I tried to brush it off like it was nothing, but I was apparently too easy to read.

“Someone’s thinking about Carver.” said Mike in a sing song voice. My head whipped up, just now noticing Rob had left the room at some point.

“I… I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I said, looking down at my guitar.

“Oh, come on. The two of you were attached by the hip for what seemed like the entire weekend!” said Mike. I glanced at Stephen for some help.

“Sorry Billy, gotta be with Mike on this one.” he said, laughing.

“Don’t you guys find it weird though, especially you Mike? You’ve known Rob for what, twenty years? And he never even mentions her.”

“Which is why you gotta be really careful if you decide to pursue this.” said Mike.

“What are you talking about?”

“You’re exactly right, I’ve known Rob for twenty years and he never mentions her. I just met her for the first time too. Which means, they don’t have a good relationship, or something happened between the two of them at least. If you like Carver, you need to be careful.”

“C’mon Mike, who said I even liked her like that anyway?” I asked. Suddenly I was dodging a drumstick being thrown at my head.

“Stephen, what the hell man?”

“Sorry, just thought it would knock the idiocy out of you. It was so obvious all weekend, we’re not stupid.”

“Who’s not stupid?” asked Rob suddenly, coming back into the room.

“No one.” the three of you said at the same time.

I knew I had some thinking to do.

Piece By Piece- (Rob Benedict x Reader) PART 5

A/N: Holy Shit. This was hard to write. It’s 4:50 AM as I post this and I started writing it around midnight. Thank you guys so much for reading this story. Considering I cried the entire time I wrote this last chapter, the story means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy the ending. I hope it you all like how it ended.

Although the story itself is done, I am open to taking requests for it! If you want a one-shot of moments between their relationship during those three years, I’ll gladly take requests.

Enjoy.

Summary: Reader is a teenage actress on Supernatural, and at 15 years old her abusive parents kick her out of the house because they disapprove of her career. After an emotional breakdown at the latest convention, Rob takes her in.

Pairing: Father Figure Rob x Reader

Word Count: 2,827

WARNING: There actually isn’t any warnings in this chapter the story should be happy from now on.

It was the summer before your senior year before you turned 18 when someone else called you Rob’s daughter for the first time.

Rob’s brother Matt’s wife had a baby, and while you were in Vancouver filming Wayward Sisters, Rob didn’t have to work. So, he flew down to Missouri and you were planning on meeting him a few days later.

It was a small town where Rob grew up, everyone knew everybody, this included the doctors at the hospital. It was obvious people wouldn’t know who you were.

“I’m looking for Matt Benedict’s wife’s room. She just had a baby.” I said to the nurse sitting behind the desk in the hospital lobby. I had just landed and had taken a cab straight to the hospital.

The nurse typed something into the computer before looking up at me.

“Ah, yes. I’m sorry however, only family is allowed right now.”

That’s when Matt popped out of nowhere.

“Oh, there you are Y/N! Rob stepped out to get us some food, but geez, he was worried you got on the wrong flight or something.” said Matt with a laugh.

“Sir, I thought you said only family?” asked the nurse.

“Oh, she is family. This is Rob’s daughter.” my eyes went wide, not having been referred to as Rob’s daughter by anyone before.

I followed Matt down the hallway towards the room, still a little stumped.

“Did, did you just say Rob’s daughter?” I asked.

“Yeah, I mean you basically are. At least that’s what Rob told me.”

It was the day you turned 18 that you drove yourself to Rob’s lawyer’s office, her not being surprised in the slightest when you told her your request.

“I can have them to you within the hour, Y/N. I think it’s an amazing idea.”

It was a few weeks later, on the three-year anniversary of Rob finding you at the con that I got the courage to change my life forever.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sat on the couch backstage in the green room, my leg bounced up and down as I was freaked out of my mind.

It was the three-year anniversary of my parents kicking me out, and in two days it would be the three-year anniversary of Rob telling me I was staying at his house for the night.

Well, it turned out to be a bit longer than a night; and if this weekend worked out how I planned, it would be a lot longer than I think Rob and I had ever planned.

But, frankly, I was having a hard time staying still with the forms in my backpack next to me.

I had gotten to the green room extremely early, and was sitting by myself when Rich walked in.

“Whoa, Y/N, you alright?” asked Rich. “It looks like you’re trembling in your seat there.”

I rubbed my face, trying to convince myself that I was being stupid and that I just needed to calm down.

“Hey, um. Rich. If I tell you something. Um. Will you promise not to tell Rob?”

“Oh my god you’re pregnant.” said Rich. I stood up immediately.

“What? No! How would you think that, no!” I said. I picked up my bag, taking the folder out and walked towards him.

“Sorry, you know I’m kidding. That was just the first thing that came into my mind when you said not to tell Rob. Of course, I can keep something to myself. What’s up?” asked Rich.

I took a breath, handing him the folder. Richard took it, his eyes going wide as he read the first word printed at the top.

ADOPTION PETITION

“Y/N. Oh my god.”

“I turned 18 a few weeks ago. Without needing my biological parent’s approval anymore, all he would need to do is sign the bottom and I’d be legally ‘Y/N Benedict.’” I said.

“When are you gonna ask him?”

“Wait, so you think it’s a good idea?” I asked, surprised.

“Of course, I do. You know when Rob introduces you to people in conversations, he already calls you his daughter, right?” asked Rich.

“No, actually. I didn’t know that…”

“Look, the guy signed on to be your legal guardian three years ago without even a moment of hesitation. There’s no reason to be nervous about asking him to sign this because frankly, he already sees you as his daughter, legally or not.”

“Thanks Rich, I actually really needed to hear that.” I said. Rich handed me back the forms and I put them back in my backpack.

“No problem. When are you planning on asking him? I’m here to assist if needed.”

All of a sudden, a plan instantly came to me.

“You know Rich, I may just take you up on that…”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was Saturday night, and the Saturday Night Special was winding down. I stood backstage with Rich as other people in the cast were hanging around and drinking.

“Y/N, you’re trembling again.” said Rich. He placed two hands on my shoulders to get me to stay still.

“Sorry, I’m sorry. My brain’s just been trained in the past to think of the bad results, you know?” I asked.

“Yeah, but you gotta remember. Rob’s the one who stayed and untrained it.” said Rich; he rubbed my shoulder in reassurance.

“Thank you, guys! Good night!” I could hear Rob ‘s voice on stage as the band was waving the crowd goodnight.

“You ready?” asked Rich. I nodded. Rich grabbed his mic from the table. The second Rob walked through the curtain, Rich grabbed his arm, pulling him back on stage.

“Rich, wha-.” Rich cut him off, getting the crowds attention before people left.

“Excuse me everybody!” he said. The crowd cheered at the sudden appearance. “If I could have your guy’s attention. Also, if we could have the full house lights on please!”

“Um, Rich. What are you doing?” asked Rob, grabbing a mic.

“Well, Robbie. There’s one last thing that needs to happen tonight.” Rich turned back to the crowd. “I would like to invite back on the stage, Y/N YL/N, and, well, everybody back there who wants to come out.”

I could hear the crowd cheering as I stood backstage, the folder of papers in my hand.

“Y/N?” asked Kim.

“Come on stage with me, just go with it guys.” I said. With a breath, I walked on stage, not surprised to be greeted by Rob’s confused face.

Rich handed me his mic, “You got this kid.” said Rich.

“Thanks again, man.” I said quietly. Rich gave me a smile before going to stand behind me with the others.

“Y/N? What are you planning, kiddo?” asked Rob, still using that nickname he gave me when I was 14.

Ignoring Rob, I turned to the crowd.

“Heya everybody. I’d like to tell you guys a story really quick that I’m pretty sure none of you know.” I took another breath, trying to calm my nerves as the crowd quieted.

“Three years ago, yesterday, I was 15 years old. I woke up Friday morning planning on attending a convention at this exact hotel, ready to hang out with my friends. I was ready to have a great weekend meeting you guys.”

“Y/N…?” asked Rob, cutting me off.

“Rob, let her say this.” said Rich from behind me. Rob tilted his head in confusion, having absolutely no idea what the heck was going on.

“I walked out of my bedroom that morning ready to go to work,” I said, continuing on. “But when I walked out, I was met with the faces of my angry parents. A fight broke out, because they told me they wanted me to quit working, or else. It turned physical with my father, and after I refused; with a duffle bag in hand my parents quite literally kicked me out of the house.”

The gasps could be heard from the crowd, even the actors behind me as most of them never knew the exact details of why I was kicked out in the first place.

I kept going.

“I got to the hotel that day scared out of my mind. I was 15, I didn’t have anyone. Hell, even with a job I knew I wasn’t capable of living on my own. But, I didn’t tell anybody.” I turned to Rob.

“But this guy, Rob knew something was wrong. For the past year he had been my friend, helping me pay for meals I didn’t have money for when the cast would go out for dinner, helping me with homework backstage, heck he started booking two-bedroom hotel rooms at the cons when he found out I had been sleeping on the greenroom couch.”

The crowd cheered at the information, Rich’s eyes going wide.

“Dang Rob, I didn’t know you did that.” said Rich into the mic.

Rob shrugged. “I wasn’t gonna let her keep sleeping on the sofa guys.”

“Well, when I walked into the green room that morning, Rob knew something was wrong. But, I lied. I kept it in because I didn’t want to have to bring Rob into the hell that was my life at the time.” I turned back to the crowd.

“I was able to keep it to myself for most of the entire weekend as I was trying to think of a plan. To be honest, I didn’t have one. But, it was the end of the con Sunday. Rob had offered to give me a ride home, and was walking to our hotel room to get me when, from what he has told me, he heard me screaming from our room. I was having a nightmare, and Rob rushed in to wake me up. It was then I had to tell him the truth, and it was three years ago tomorrow that Rob offered to let me stay at his house for the night.”

I kept myself together as I tried to keep going, but I could feel the tears coming.

“It was a week or so later when we found out that I didn’t have any other family, when that social worker told us I would be turned over to the state. I was taking it, I knew I didn’t have a choice because, well, I was a minor.”

Emotions took over me as I turned and pointed at Rob.

“It was then when this man, with no hesitation what so ever, told the social worker that he wanted me to stay with him; that he was more than willing to petition for legal guardianship.” I wiped the tears from my face as I looked up at the man standing in front of me.

I turned to my cast mates behind me, seeing tears in some in their eyes. Kim gave me thumbs up, I think she had figured out where this was going judging by the papers in my hand.

I turned back to the crowd.

“A few weeks after that it was official. Rob Benedict was my legal guardian, and I never had to see my asshole parents ever again because of this man right here. And here we are, three years later.” I pointed at Rob as I could see the tears falling slowly from his eyes at this point as well.

The crowd cheered so loud that I could barely hear myself think, and I could see Rich out of the corner of my eye trying his best to quiet them, but it gave me the time to wipe my eyes as the tears kept falling. I turned to Rob now.

“Rob, you stayed with me night after night as I kept having nightmares. You stayed up for hours on end for weeks on end as I was trying to get through them, and you didn’t complain once. Not once. You took me to get my driver’s permit, and taught me how to drive. You went to every single parent conference at school, you helped me with my homework, and still let me continue my career no matter how crazy or busy it got.”

I tried to wipe my face as quickly as I could, but to no luck.

“Sorry guys.” I said to the crowd as they awed. Kim walked up behind me, handing me a tissue.

“Ha, thanks Kim. Where was I?” I looked at Rob, trying to regain my focus.

“You okay?” I could see him mouth. I nodded, continuing.

“Rob, you paid for school clothes each year, even for school supplies. Hell, whenever I went on a date you gave the guy the dad speech. You helped me fill out college forms, and were there when I got each acceptance form.”

Rob smiled, reliving each memory being brought up in his head. Sure, the last three years had been tough, and it was definitely something he hadn’t expected, but he didn’t regret signing those guardianship forms for a second. You had changed his life as much as he had changed yours.

“Rob, you saved my life. In the past three years, you have been more of a father to me than I ever thought possible.”

“And I don’t regret it for a second, Y/N.” said Rob. I think by this point the both of you had semi-forgotten about the crowd of people in front of you, but you didn’t care. And he didn’t either.

“I know. And that’s why, when I turned 18 a few weeks ago, I drove myself to your lawyer’s office and picked up this.” I raised my arm up that was holding the forms, handing it to him.

“It’s why, after all this time, I hope you say yes.”

I raised my hand, holding the papers out to Rob. He took them, a questioning look still on his face.

But it immediately left when he opened up the folder, the mic dropping to the floor in shock as Rob pulled his hand up to his mouth, covering it.  I could suddenly feel a shoulder sling around me as I looked to see it belonged to Rich.

“Wanna tell the crowd what those papers are, Bob-O?” asked Rich.

Rob blinked, ignoring the tear that fell from his eye as he reached down to pick his mic back up.

“They’re, they’re adoption papers.”

Rob wasted no time pulling me into a hug as the crowd cheered louder than they had all night. We both lost it at that point, letting out all the emotions we had been holding in for the past 10 minutes I had started this speech. I could feel the tears drop on my head as I sobbed into his chest.

“Is that a yes?” asked Rich, seeing as he was the only one emotionally capable of speaking into his mic at the moment.

Rob laughed, releasing me from the hug for a second.

“Y/N. I would be honored to sign those papers. I’m honored that you would take the time to ask. Of course, the answer is yet.” He tightened the grip he had on me into a side hug. “But frankly let’s get off the stage cause I think we’ve both cried on stage enough tonight.” He pulled me into another full hug.

“Thank you, guys.” I said to the crowd. Richard helped bid the crowd goodnight as everyone headed off stage. We all headed back to the green room

The second Rob and I stepped into the green room, he pulled me back into a hug. Tears fell as we were both heavily overcome with emotion. The rest of the cast just stood in the doorway, letting us have our moment before we eventually separated. Both of us wiped the tears from our faces.

“Y/N Benedict. Kinda has a nice ring to it, don’t you think, guys?” asked Matt. He walked up to Rob, handing him a pen. Rob took it immediately, signing the papers he still had in his hand.

“I will get these to my lawyer myself Monday morning.” said Rob, smiling. He handed me back the papers so I could keep them in my backpack again for safe keeping.

Everybody slowly filed out of the green room, it was super late at this point and everybody was exhausted.

Rob and I were upstairs, walking through the hallway to get back to our hotel room.

“Hey, hey Rob?” I asked. The two of us stopped walking just before reaching the hotel room.

“Yeah?” Rob turned to me, leaning against the wall. I stuffed my hands into my pockets, still nervous to ask this even though Rob was now considered legally my parent.

“Is it alright if… Is it alright if I start calling you dad now?”

Rob smiled, standing himself up as he again pulled me into another hug, as tight as he possibly could.

“I love you, kiddo.” said Rob.

Piece by piece he restored my faith, that a man could be kind… and a father could stay…

“I love you too, Dad.”

Piece By Piece- (Rob Benedict x Reader) PART 4

A/N: It’s 5:28 AM. I am not responsible for any grammar or continuity errors. Also, part 5 will be the last part. Enjoy!

Summary: Reader is a teenage actress on Supernatural, and at 15 years old her abusive parents kick her out of the house because they disapprove of her career. After an emotional breakdown at the latest convention, Rob takes her in.

Pairing: Father Figure Rob x Reader

Word Count: 2,873

WARNING: There actually isn’t any warnings in this chapter the story should be happy from now on.

Life changed rather quickly after that day, and let me just tell you it changed for the better.

It was barely two weeks later when it became legally official, and the rest of the Supernatural cast found out. It was time for another con.

Rob walked down the hallway backstage toward the green room with Rich. It was Saturday evening, and Jared and Jensen had just arrived at the hotel just in time for the Saturday Night Special. Everyone was in the green room besides Rob and Rich, as they had just finished last minute photo opps.

“Hey, Rob, wanna meet up for beers Sunday night? Our flight gets into LA early so we’d have plenty of time to get a drink.” said Rich.

Rob sighed, weary of giving his best friend an answer. He and Y/N hadn’t told anyone of their new living situation yet. Rob because he wanted to wait until it was official, and, well, Y/N because she was afraid telling people would jinx the chance of it actually becoming true.

And besides, Rob knew he couldn’t go out drinking on a Sunday night, Y/N needed a ride to school at 7:00 AM the next morning.

Before Rob could answer, his phone rang in his pocket, stopping R2 in their tracks. He pulled his phone out, happy to see the name of his lawyer appear for the caller ID.

“Um, head inside, this will just take a second.” Rich looked at his best friend, a bit confused before just walking through the door.

“Hello?” asked Rob.

“Hey Rob, it’s (lawyer’s name).”

“Oh hey, please tell me you’re calling with good news.” him and Y/N were expecting the official call any day now.

“Actually, Rob, I have good news indeed. I just got the paper work from Y/N’s biological parents. They signed each form, waiving their legal rights to the guardianship of Y/N Y/L/N. Congrats, you just gained the responsibility of a 15-year-old.” said Rob’s lawyer with a laugh.

“Thank you, thank you so much.” said Rob, hanging up and giving himself the authority to do a fist pump. After the social worker had visited the two of them the past Monday, he was glad this was all over. Y/N finally had a safe home.

Walking into the green room, all eyes turned to him as it was quite obvious Rob was in a better mood than he had been in all day.

“What’s put a pep in your step there, Mr. Benedict?” asked Briana. Briana, Kim, Rich, Jason, Jensen, Jared, Matt, Mark, Ruth, Billy, Stephen, and Mike all sat, looking at Rob with questioning eyes.

“Oh, nothing that you won’t find out in the next five minutes. Where’s Y/N?” asked Rob.

“Here I am.” said Y/N, walking out of the bathroom.

In the month that Y/N had been staying with Rob, it was like she had become a completely different person, her personality flipping a switch. She was more outgoing, and less afraid to strike up a conversation with someone.

Teachers noticed at school, enjoying the fact that the girl now walked into class with a smile on her face. The few friends she had were surprised, but didn’t dare question why their friend was a lot happier than she used to be.

She even was more outgoing backstage at the convention, a lot more present and into everything that happened at the hotel. It was no longer having to do her job worried about what would happen when she left that Sunday.

In the almost two days of the current con, she was confident enough to be able to call the rest of the cast her friends, no longer just sticking to Rob’s side.

The cast was just happy to know the kid was okay, details didn’t matter.

————————————————————————————————————-

“What’s up, Rob?” I asked, closing the bathroom door behind me. I could tell by just looking at the man that something good had happened.

I looked at the others, they all shrugged not knowing the answer to give.

“Well, Y/N, I just got off the phone with my lawyer.” My heart immediately started pounding, all the negative outcomes pouring through my head.

The judge didn’t approve the petition, my parents didn’t waive their guardian rights, hell knowing them they didn’t even turn in the forms at all. The options were endless.

“Rob-.” Rob held his hand up, stopping me before I could even continue. He knew what I was thinking. Rob reached into his pocket, pulling out what seemed to be a lanyard…with a small key attached to the bottom.

“I am now officially your legal guardian.” said Rob, the smile having yet to leave his face.  My jaw dropped.

“They actually signed the waiver forms?”

“They actually signed the waiver forms. You never have to see them ever again. Heck, according to my lawyer, they even dropped a box of your clothes and belongings to her office.” I quickly engulfed Rob into a tight hug. A soft ‘umph’ could be heard as he didn’t expect it.

“What the heck just happened?” asked Rich.

Rob and I laughed turning to our friends, knowing now that we had no choice but to tell them everything. And we did exactly that. Few were surprised to hear that Rob had been right those weeks ago when he had first stated his fear; wondering why I hadn’t said anything before. Some joked, telling Rob he didn’t know what he was in store for when it came to raising a girl, Jensen, Briana, and Kim joking the most as they were the ones with daughters.

But all in all, they were supportive, the group of us sharing a toast with the drinks we had before Rob, Mike, Billy, and Stephen were called on stage.

————————————————————————————————————-

The first few months were hard, as the nightmares that had started still persisted through the night no matter where I was living. But each night, Rob was there, bolting through my bedroom door in a near instant as soon as he heard the first sound of screams.

“Shhh, Y/N it’s okay. Kiddo, it’s me. You’re safe. They’re not here, I promise. You’re just having a bad dream.”

Rob repeated the words to you each night the dreams went on, waiting until you had calmed and even staying until you had fallen back asleep. They could happen multiple times a night, sometimes to the point where Rob would let you stay home from school because he knew you wouldn’t have been able to last.

But not once did he complain.

It wasn’t until about three months later when Rob had fallen asleep in a Louden Swain rehearsal for the second time that Billy confronted him.

“Rob, what the heck is going on?” asked Billy. Stephen and Mike had already left the music studio for the day.

“Sorry man, just haven’t had the best opportunities to sleep lately.” said Rob, not meaning to yawn in the middle of that sentence, but it happened anyway.

“Dude, it’s just you and Y/N at home, what could possibly be keeping you up so much?”

Rob sighed, giving in to his friend and telling him about your nightmares, not getting into details by any means, but he was worried, and he wasn’t quite sure what to do at this point.

“I don’t know man. I’m just worried I don’t have the tools to help her with this. It’s not like you have control on your subconscious.”

“Have you suggested taking her to therapy?” asked Billy.

“What?” He had to admit, he hadn’t thought that far.

“Well, think about it Rob. She’s been through hell and back with her parents, that much has been obvious. Who knows what the heck they could have done to her, who knows everything she’s been through. Maybe talking to a professional wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.” said Billy.

Rob sighed, thanking his friend, knowing that he was more than probably right.

You were extremely hesitant at first when Rob brought the option up to you at dinner, you didn’t want Rob to have to pay for another thing for you, especially something that you didn’t necessarily think was needed.

“Y/N, you know I’m here for you, whenever you decide you’re ready to talk to me about what happened to you, or what the dreams are even about. I just think that for the meantime, talking to a professional defiantly won’t hurt. You haven’t slept yourself in weeks.

Well, he wasn’t wrong about that.

But it wasn’t until you got Rob to agree to let you pay for at least half of the cost before you agreed to go.

And frankly, it worked.

Rob had found a therapist that was local, and agreed to work around both you and Rob’s acting schedule, and your school schedule as well.

(Wayward Sisters had recently been announced, and you were in talks with producers to be a key character.)

After the second session, the therapist had given you a very mild sedative to help you sleep at night, and it worked like a charm. The nightmares disappeared almost instantly. After the fifth, you weren’t afraid to tell Rob about the things that had happened to you, the beatings you had taken, or even that time you had went weeks where the only food you had was what was served to you at school.

You even had the nerve to tell him about the scars left on you that hadn’t come from anyone else but you.

But Rob sat and listened, not daring to say a word until you were completely finished. He didn’t judge, he didn’t question.

“Promise me that if you ever feel like doing that to yourself ever again, Y/N, that you’ll come to me, or Rich, or Billy, or any one of us.”

“Yeah, I promise Rob.”

Giving you a hug and making you a promise that everything was gonna be okay, the two of you headed off to bed. As you laid in bed, Rob’s words kept replaying in your mind.

“Everything is gonna be okay.”

Frankly, you believed him.

————————————————————————————————————-

Sometimes it was the little things Rob did for you that meant the most, and he didn’t even realize he was doing them.

He had taken you to get your drivers permit the second you had gotten the courage to ask, and even had given you a few drivers lessons whenever the two of you each had free time.

Your acting career was taking off gradually, guest spots on shows here and there, while still going to school full time. Rob had gotten the same amount of acting jobs he usually did, his work schedule never really changing. He took you with him if the job lasted for more than a week, but trusted you enough to stay home by yourself if it was less. It especially helped when Kim offered to give you a ride to school when Rob was out of town, considering she was up and about anyway with her own kids, and Rob’s apartment was right on the way to her own kid’s school. Rob left more than enough money for food and any supplies of course.

However, you had just officially signed on for Wayward Sisters, which was supposed to start filming the summer after your current school year had ended. This meant you would be flying up to Vancouver more frequently, and while you and Rob hadn’t worked the details out, you both knew how busy life was about to get.

It had reached May, though, which meant it was the end of your sophomore year of high school, and time for the parent-teacher evaluation conferences that they held at the end of each year. Your parents had never shown up to one before, and to be honest, you were a little weary about asking Rob to attend.

“C’mon, Y/N, just ask him. You know how less painful the conference will go when you don’t have to explain to Mr. McAdams that your parents are working, and that you swear you’ll get the information to them later. It really isn’t that big of a deal.” said Hayden, your best friend, Mr. McAdams being the head teacher of the 10th grade class. The two of you sat at the kitchen table of you and Rob’s apartment that morning, having spent the past night working on a science project that hadn’t been completed due to the fact that you had just spent the past week and a half in Vancouver filming a Supernatural episode. Her mom had offered to give the two of you a ride to school that morning and right now you were just waiting.

“Hayden, it’s just a conference. I’ve been lying to every head teacher we’ve had since these conferences started in sixth grade. Three more won’t hurt.”

“Three more of what won’t hurt?” asked Rob, appearing suddenly from the door way, carrying his guitar case as he had a rehearsal with Louden Swain today.

“Nothing, just thinking about how three more days of school won’t kill us too bad.” you said, surprised about how fast that had come out of your mouth. Luckily Hayden came to your rescue.

“Hey, Y/N, my mom’s out front.” said Hayden, standing up and grabbing her bag off the counter.

“Um, I’ll be back around 7:00 tonight.” you said. You may not have asked Rob to come to the conference, but you were still required to. You rushed out the door behind your friend before Rob even had the chance to respond, but not before a paper slipped out of your backpack as it hit the table.

Rob picked it up, surprised as he read what was on it.

REQUIRED PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE

Student and Parent must be present to speak with Mr. McAdams about your child’s performance throughout this past school year.

4:30-7:00 PM

Y/N Y/L/N: 6:30PM.

You can bet your ass Rob showed up that night, leaving the Louden Swain rehearsal early with no explanation to the guys even.

Heck he was even more surprised to learn that in the near year you had been staying with him, your grades had improved dramatically.

“I don’t know what you’ve been doing, Mr. Benedict, but even with all the traveling Y/N has done in the past year, her GPA went from a 2.7 to 3.5. The highest jump she’s ever had.

Y/N didn’t know it, but as Rob looked at you from the chair sitting next to yours, he held so much pride that he didn’t look at you like the kid he had decided to take in.

He looked at you as his daughter.

————————————————————————————————————-

It wasn’t until the end of the next school year that the fans found out that Rob was your legal guardian, since the two of you had kept it severely secret for legal reasons; especially since the both of you had no idea where your biological parents were.

But your junior year had ended, and even with flying out of the country nearly every week for a TV show, taking most of your classes on a set or in your trailer by a tutor, you had made the honor roll for the first time, even made the dean’s list.

(And if you waited a few more weeks, the two of you would find out you had gotten a better than average score on both the SAT and ACT).

But Honors night had come around, and Rob, Rich, Kim, and Billy sat in attendance as the names were being called for students to get their certificates.

(You had gotten really close to the other three over the past two years, considering you and Rob’s work schedule, and the amount of times you stayed over at Billy’s house when Louden Swain rehearsals would run late.)

“Y/N Y/L/N.” said the dean, the four adults jumped up, cheering so loud that you couldn’t help but smile as you got on stage and accepted the certificate.

“I’m so proud of you!” said Rob. The four stood outside the auditorium, Rob immediately wrapping you in a hug the second you walked out.

“Thanks Rob.” you said, nearly emotional. Freshman year teachers were offering to put you in help classes, and you couldn’t believe yourself that you had made it to the dean list at all.

“Okay, okay. I gotta get a picture of the two of you.” said Kim, having already taken a pic of you and Rob when he had hugged you.

You and Rob laughed, not really caring at this point where the picture ended up. The twitter notification came up on your phone just a few moments later.

@kimrhodes4real:

Couldn’t be prouder of @Y/T/N. Just had to get the two of them together. *Image attached*

Fans were obviously confused on why Rob had been pointed out, but it wasn’t until Rob posted a picture later that night that it was officially let out in the world.

@RobBenedict:

When your kid makes the honor and dean’s list after workin her ass off all year, you take her out to any restaurant she wants :D @Y/T/N

Rob didn’t know it, but you nearly called him Dad that night.

“It’s the end of the con as we know it, so go home.”

The lines of the jingle replayed through Rob Benedict’s head as he walked down the upstairs hotel hallway.  It was around 5:45 PM, and the con had just ended. Like usual, he had offered you a ride home. Last someone had heard you had gone back up to the two of yours’s hotel room.

Rob rounded the corner, when all of a sudden, the sounds of screams could be heard a few doors down, his door to be exact.

“Y/N.” whispered Rob, taking off running as he tried to get to the door as soon as possible. He knew something was wrong, and this confirmed it.

Getting the hotel key out of his pocket as quickly as he could, Rob was met with the sight of you screaming on the bed. You were kicking and thrashing, but you were also fast asleep.

Rob shut the door, running instantly to your side.

“Y/N, Y/N! Wake up! It’s me, it’s Rob. You’re having a bad dream.” said Rob, shaking your shoulders as safely as he could.

Your eyes whipped open as you shot up in bed, your breathing not slowing down one bit. You knew this, you were having a panic attack.

“Hey, kiddo, look at me.” Rob took your hands, directing your focus to him. “I’m right here, you’re safe. Breathe in, hold for four seconds.” You did as you were told. “Hold for four seconds, Y/N, breath out for four seconds.”

You did as you were told, and it worked, you’re breathing slowed down. You closed your eyes, trying to regain focus.

“Kiddo, you’re trembling, come here.” Rob immediately pulled you into his arms, rubbing your back trying to get you to stop shaking. The damn broke, and the tears began falling as you sobbed in your friend’s arms.

“Kiddo, you gotta tell me what’s wrong. You’re scaring me Y/N, maybe I can help? I promise you you’re safe. It’s me.” said Rob, just trying to comfort you in any way possible.

“You’re worthless, no one needs you. I don’t need you.”

The voice of your father kept repeating in your head as you continued to cry harder. It had hit you, you didn’t have anywhere to go. You were 15, and you were alone. Sure, you had a job, but you were too young to live on your own.

Rob didn’t question it as the tears continued, he just let you cry as long as you did. Just by running into the room he could tell how long you had kept all this inside.

No kid deserved that, Rob could tell anyone from experience.

After a few minutes, you had stopped crying. Rob had wrapped a blanket around you and gotten a glass of water.

“What’s going on, kiddo? I could tell something was wrong the second you walked into the green room on Friday.”

You sat in silence, debating to yourself what you were going to say. Because of the relationship with your parents, you rarely trusted adults.

“Whose been hurting you, Y/N?” asked Rob carefully. He had to start somewhere.

You sighed, looking down at the glass of water in your hands, fiddling your thumbs against the side.

“Rob, my- my parents. My parents kicked me out of the house Friday morning. They’re not good people Rob.” Rob sat back a bit, taking in the shock from your answer. But it all of a sudden made sense. He never understood why your parents never showed up at any of the conventions. He never got why you were alone on every flight you had together.

Rob thought he was just being nice every time he saw you didn’t have any money for food. He didn’t realize how badly you didn’t have anyone.

Well, now he did.

Rob wrapped you in another hug. He knew he didn’t need to push anymore, and he knew how you felt. He knew how it felt for a parent to abandon you, to make you feel like you weren’t worth sticking around for. The words the fell next came without any hesitation.

“You’re staying at my house tonight, Y/N.” said Rob.

“No, Rob, you don’t need to do that.” you said. You stood up going over to your bag to finish throwing the little you had in it. Rob Benedict had done enough for you, and you really didn’t want to dump more on him.

“Where else do you expect to stay?” asked Rob.

“I don’t know! I don’t know. I-.” you stopped, realizing he was right. He was right, and you were exhausted.

Rob sighed, picking your duffle bag off of the bed, and grabbing his suitcase, setting it against the wall.

“Y/N, you are staying at my house tonight. We’re gonna drive through the burger joint, get dinner, and you are sleeping in my guest room. I’ll call freaking child services in the morning, no one kicks a 15-year-old out of the house with nowhere to go.”

Again, he was right.

Taking your duffle bag from him, you followed Rob out the door.

“You know, I’m supposed to be at school tomorrow.”

“Well, I guess I’m giving you a ride.”

Piece By Piece- (Rob Benedict x Reader) PART 1

Summary: Reader is a teenage actress on Supernatural, and at 15 years old her abusive parents kick her out of the house because they disapprove of her career. After an emotional breakdown at the latest convention, Rob takes her in.

Pairing: Father Figure Rob x Reader

WARNING: Parental Abuse, Neglect, Emotional Breakdown, Fear, Loneliness.

I was six years old when my father first slapped me. I was six years old when my mother told me she wanted nothing to do with me. I was six years old when my father told me I was worthless.

I was 10 years old when I discovered Supernatural, and for the first time in my life I found something that made me happy.

By the time I was 14 years old, I was cast on the show. I lived in Los Angeles, and would do anything to get out of the house for a while. Don’t need much more than a signature to fly out of the country by yourself when it’s for a job.

Hayden Strong, 14-year-old teenager turned hunter after her parents died from hellhounds gone rouge. The best thing that would ever happen to me.

I was 14 years old when my character blew up on the show, and within months I was invited to my first convention. I was 14 years old when I met Rob Benedict.

I was 15 years old when he changed my life forever.

“Get out of here! I never want to see your face in this house ever again! Leave!” yelled dad, letting you have nothing more than a duffle bag as he shoved you out of the house.

I closed my eyes, trying to get the memory from this morning out of my head. It was early Friday morning, and I had taken a cab to the Burbank Convention.

I had officially been kicked out, and I was barely keeping it together.

With my headphones in, I walked into the green room with my head down. I didn’t feel like talking to anybody, and to be quite honest I didn’t think I would be able to handle it. I headed straight for the food table, having been too busy to even think of eating breakfast this morning.

Rob, Rich, Kim, and Brianna were the only ones in the green room at the moment, and I could feel their eyes on me in confusion. Why hadn’t I said anything to them yet?

Placing slices of apple onto my plate, they nearly fell out of my hand as someone suddenly tapped me on the shoulder. Turning around quickly, I came face to face with the one and only Rob Benedict.

Over the past year, Rob Benedict has basically become my best friend. He was there to help me around my first convention, he sat with me through every homework assignment I had to do backstage. He bought me every meal I didn’t have money for, every time the cast went out to a surprise dinner.

He even started to pay for a two-bedroom hotel room when he discovered I had been spending each night of a convention weekend sleeping on the couch in the green room.

I pulled my headphones out, looking up at him.

“He-Hey Rob. What’s up?” I asked. Trying to appear as normal as possible was not something I was apparently good at.

“You gonna tell me what’s wrong?” asked Rob, keeping his voice down for my benefit. I wasn’t as open to the rest of the cast as I was to him.

“Nothing, you know. I’m- I’m fine. It’s just been a rough morning you know?” All of a sudden, a door slammed, which caused me to jump with the noise. Rob noticed immediately.

“Hey guys!” Rich’s handler had walked in, but Rob kept his eyes on me as I tried to keep my eyes from spilling. Luckily all the attention from everyone else went to the handler.

“Y/N, it’s me. You know you can talk to me about anything.”

I trusted Rob, but God he already had to deal with so much being my friend. I already felt like so much of a burden for him. He already did so much for me I didn’t want to put more on his shoulders.

I took a deep breath.

“I’m fine, Rob. I swear. It was just a rough morning, nothing more.”

“Hey, Y/N! You’re scheduled for autographs in about five minutes, we gotta head down there.” My own handler had entered the room.

“I’ll see you later, Rob.” I said, beginning to walk away. Rob grabbed my arm, making me wince from the hand-shaped bruise I was hiding under my sweater. Rob let go quickly, reaching into his pocket and holding out a room key to me.

“Here, in case you want to put your suitcase in our room later.”

I took my room key from him.

“Thanks, but I only have this anyway.” I held up my duffle bag. I bid goodbye, turning around and leaving with my handler for the day. Thank God, the convention has started, I could definitely use the distraction.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“You alright, Rob?” asked Rich. Rob, Rich, Jared, and Jensen sat at the lunch table backstage in the green room. It was Sunday of the convention. Y/N was doing photo opps.

“Yeah um… I dunno. Has, has Y/N been acting a bit strange this weekend to you guys?” asked Rob.

“What do you mean?” asked Jensen.

“I don’t know guys. She’s barely said a word to any of us all weekend. I just feel like something’s off.”

“What are you talking about? She barely says a word to us any weekend. You know she keeps to herself.” said Jared.

“Yeah, but she always talks to me. I just feel like something’s wrong.” said Rob.

“Care to elaborate?” asked Rich.

“On Friday, when she got here, she jumped when a door slammed.”

“Maybe it just scared her?”

“I grabbed her arm, not tight or anything, I just wanted to give her the room key. But she flinched, she flinched like it seriously hurt, like I was grabbing a bruise or something.” said Rob.

“Are you suggesting someone’s been hurting her?” asked Rich. It was a big accusation to make, especially for a teenager living with her parents.

The sound of a door opening turned the four men’s heads, Y/N had walked in to get some lunch as well.

“I’m suggesting someone’s scaring her.”

“Everything alright, Robbie?” asked Rich, walking up behind his best friend. It was almost time for the Saturday Night Special, and I stayed by himself in the corner of the greenroom.

“What? Oh, um, yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just been a really long day.” I said as I rubbed my forehead. I couldn’t get Y/N’s song out of my head, especially the one lyric.

“Before you leave me today…”

Did she really think that I was going to leave her? I’m in love with her, and I thought that she knew that. Did she really think because she was afraid that I would throw that away?

“Everything okay with you and Y/N? Man, I’m sorry that whole mess got blown up earlier. I could see that you were both shaken up about it.” said Rich.

I sighed, sitting down on the floor against the wall, Rich following my actions.

“She thought I was gonna leave her.” I said. Rich whipped his head towards me, the surprise evident.

“What? What happened?”

I didn’t really know what to say; I knew I couldn’t exactly tell Rich everything.

“Something happened to her in the past, and it’s something that we talked about. But, I don’t know I guess she just thought that what had happened to her I would shame her for.” I said.

“Have you talked to her about it yet?” asked Rich.

“Haven’t had the time. She went up to our room till the concert and I got whisked away to autos and photo opps.”

All of a sudden, I could hear the sound of the door opening, I looked up and Y/N had walked in.

“Here’s your chance.” Said Rich.

“Please give a warm welcome to Louden Swain!” said Misha’s voice that could be heard from the stage. Billy, Mike, and Norton headed out, obviously waiting for me. I looked at Y/N.

“Later.” I could see her mouth.

I nodded, running out to take my place on the stage.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I slipped my key card into my hotel room and walked inside, trying to be as quiet as I could incase Rob had fallen asleep. I could already see that it was pretty much dark in here.

Walking in, I looked up to see Rob standing there, back faced towards me as he looked out the window.

“Hey.” I said, a bit too quiet. I didn’t really know what to do. I didn’t know if the song would change things between us, and I didn’t want it to.

“Hey.” said Rob, turning to face me.

“I’m assuming you listened to the song.”

“Yeah I did.” Said Rob. He sat down on the bed, resting his hands on his legs. I could see the confliction pouring out of him.

“Do you trust me?” asked Rob, finally taking a moment to look me in the eye.

“More than anything.”

“Did you really think I would leave you, Y/N? After everything we have been through?”

I sat down in the chair across from the bed and pulled it up towards him.

“I wrote it based off of the feelings I had before we got together, hell before we got closer.” I laid my hand on top of his.

“I don’t know, I just. I just thought we were getting better. I just thought I would be able to help you, you know?” asked Rob. He stood up, walking back towards the window.

“But you do, Rob. You have, quite a bit actually.” I sighed, walking up to stand next to him.

“I’m sorry Rob, I’m sorry that this has caused you to be, I don’t know, I’m sorry that this caused you to question our relationship.”

“I love you, you know.” Said Rob.

“I know. I love you too, you know.” I said, looking at Rob.

Rob smiled, “I know.”

“Sometimes I just wish, Y/N, that I could just take all that pain away from you. I just wish that I could take all those horrible moments away from you.” Rob sat back down on the bed.

“Well I guess that’s just what we need to do now, isn’t it?” I asked, sitting next to him again. Rob looked at me, tilting his head in confusion as he didn’t quite get what I meant.

“We create new moments, together. We create new moments together, Rob. I love you, and you love me, and that’s all that should matter. Not some silly song that I wrote in a moment of weakness.”

All of a sudden, Rob cut me off, bringing his hand to my cheek and pulling me into a kiss.

“It’s not weakness, for what it’s worth that was the most beautiful song I have ever heard.”

“God, I love you, Rob.”

“I love you too.”

A/N: This chapter is sort of a flashback, it’s the conversation Rob and the reader had. He’s remembering it as he’s listening to the song. Italics are the song lyrics. All rights to the song go to its rightful owners

Shut the door Turn the light off I wanna be with you I wanna feel your love I wanna lay beside you I cannot hide this Even though I try

“Y/N, please come out of the bathroom. We’re alright, I promise. But we need to talk about this.” said Rob carefully as he stood leaning against the bathroom door. He didn’t get it, the farthest the two of you had gotten right then was him with his shirt off, but you still took off running.

You could hear your heart beating in your ears, the fear evident as you opened the door slowly with your trembling hands.

Heart beats harder Time escapes me Trembling hands Touch skin It makes this harder And the tears stream down my face

Rob took no time to wrap you in his arms; he had put his shirt back on at some point already. Eventually the two of you made it back to the bed.

“I was 22, and I, and I missed my ride home after the late shift at a restaurant one night.” you said, trying to compose yourself. Rob sat across from you, quiet and attentive. He knew better than to interrupt you or else you would never make it through this conversation.

“God if I, if I could turn back time I would have never even had left work that day.” You closed your eyes as you tried to push away the flash backs.

If we could only have this life For one more day If we could only turn back time

You sat still as you told Rob everything; from the attack, from the stay in the hospital… to your stay in the psychiatric hospital.

“I love you so much Rob, and I want to be with you, like, like this. I swear to you. It just hurts so much; it just hurts so much because Everytime we get close all I can see is him. It feels like I’m screaming and no one can hear me.”

Hands are silent Voice is numb Try to scream out my lungs It makes this harder And the tears stream down my face.

“I guess I’m just looking for that thing to let me start over.” You felt ashamed, even though you know you shouldn’t. Here you were sitting in front of the man you loved, yet you still felt so alone.

“Then let me be it.” said Rob. You tilted you head in confusion, not really sure where he was getting at.

“Let me be your reason to be, Y/N. Let me be your voice when you can’t stop screaming. I love you, Y/N. Let me help you get through this, together.” Before he could continue, you cut him off with a kiss. Breaking apart, something was different between the two of you and both of you knew it.

“Are you sure? You know I’m perfectly content with just being with you for the rest of our lives. Nothing needs to happen.”

“That’s what makes me so sure.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rob clicked the phone off as the song completed. There was one line from that song that he just couldn’t wrap his mind around.

You know I’ll be Your life Your voice Your reason to be My love My heart Is breathing for this Moment In time I’ll find the words to say Before you leave me today

There were some things that the two of you needed to talk about.

A/N: It’s 6:15 AM and I haven’t slept yet. If there are any spelling or grammar mistakes, I’m not even sorry.

Who could have ever known that one innocent fan question at a convention would open a door in your relationship that you just weren’t ready to have opened.

“Have you ever written a song about Rob?” asked a fan; as the fandom had just recently found out about you and Rob’s relationship, even though you had been dating for nearly 7 months.

Your face immediately turned red, the answer now obviously being yes. Rob, Rich, and Matt all turned to you with a smirk on their faces.

“Um, no?” You asked, not really comfortable with where this was going. The answer was obviously yes.

“Oh c’mon that is totally a lie!” said Rich, coming up and slinging his arm around you. He didn’t notice or feel you flinch, though. Rob did, though. After everything you two had been through, he knew.

“Yeah that’s a total lie, Y/N.” said Matt, laughing.

“Okay, okay fine. I have written a song for Rob, but before you even ask Rich, there’s no way you’re hearing it!” You said, turning mostly to get his arm off of you, but playing it off with a laugh.

Rob eyes widened at the answer, not even he knew about it.

“Awe why?” asked Rich.

“Cause not even Rob’s heard it for crying out loud!” you said.

Crap.

“Wait, now I wanna hear it!” said Rob, joking around still.

All of a sudden, Billy, Stephen, and Mike walked out from behind the curtain, indicating the end of the panel.

“Ah, saved by the band. That’s our panel folks!” said Rich, as the four of us slowly navigated off stage. The three of Louden Swain remained to introduce Misha.

You tried to escape to the bathroom, knowing that R2M would hound you for an explanation.

“Oh, no you don’t.” said Matt, blocking your way into the bathroom. “I can somewhat understand why Rich and I haven’t heard this mysterious song written for Rob, but not even Rob has heard it?” asked Matt. You found yourself being pushed to the couch by the three men as they stood around you.

“Look, guys. It’s not that big of a deal! No one’s heard it! Rob, I’m sorry, but I’m asking you to respect that this I just one thing I need to keep to myself.” you said, standing up and pushing past them, leaning against a table with your back facing them.

“Hey, hey. It’s okay Y/N!” said Rob, walking up behind you, turning you to face him.

“Those two idiots will shut up, I swear. If you don’t want me to hear it, I’ll respect that.”

“Hey!” yelled Matt and Rich in defense. You just laughed at the two of them before turning back towards Rob, pulling him into a hug. “Thank you.” you whispered into his chest. He just kissed the top of your head.

“What’re you guys talking about?” asked Billy all of a sudden, entering the room with the other two guys.

“Oh we just found out that Y/N had written a song for Rob.” said Rich, casually.

“Oh, Moments? It’s a beautiful song, isn’t it!” said Billy with a smile, grabbing a water bottle and sitting down on the couch. Rob, Rich, and Matt immediately spun on their heels, facing you with wide eyes.

Crap.

You turned to Billy.

“And thank you, for that.” you said, giving him a look. His face fell as he realized what he had done. “Sorry, forgot it was supposed to be secret.” said Billy as he slid into the sofa. You looked at the other 3 innocently.

“Billy may or may not have helped me with some chords…”

Matt and Rich turned to you, automatically bombarding you with protests of wanting to hear the mysterious song; that all of a sudden you had made into a big deal. You looked at Rob, a bit defeated. He looked sad, leaning against the wall. He thought you were past all this, he thought you were past the secrets, he thought he knew everything.

He thought you trusted him.

You sighed, holding up a hand to Matt and Rich.

“Guys, shut up.” you said, silencing them immediately. You turned to your boyfriend.

“Rob?” you asked. He looked up at you questionably.

“Remember that thing we did, that thing we talked about that we swore we would never bring up again?” Matt and Rich stepped back a bit, not realizing that an intimate line would be crossed in this conversation.

Rob tilted his head confused. Of course he knew what you were talking about, but by your request he promised never to bring up the conversation you two had ever again. He was surprised you did. Never the less, he nodded.

You reached into your pocket, pulling your phone out as well as pulling the song up on it.

“Well, it’s about that. If you want to hear it, fine. If not, well fine. But there’s no way those two are gonna be in the room when you hear it, and I don’t want to be either.”

“Oh c’mon, Billy, back us up. You’ve heard it and obviously know what it’s about!” said Matt.

Billy looked up from his phone, barely even paying attention to the conversation.

“Oh, I’m with her on this one.” Billy glanced at you and Rob, realizing that the two of you didn’t expect to be put in this position today, and the five of you others being in the room probably wasn’t helping.

“Um, fellas? Why don’t we go hang out outside for a while?” he asked as he faced Rich, Matt, Norton, and Mike. He didn’t even give RM a chance to respond before pulling them out of there, the other two trailing behind them.

You looked up at Rob, just waiting for the next word to come out of his mouth.

“I’m sorry Rob, I didn’t mean for this to come out today, let alone at all.” You slid your phone back into your pocket, sitting down.

“Hey, hey it’s okay. Really.” said Rob, coming up and kneeling in front of you. He wrapped his arms around you and just held you for a minute, stroking your back in an attempt to calm you. He knew the stakes. He let you go, facing you still.

“If it’s alright, I really would like to hear it still.” Rob reached up; wiping a tear off your face that you didn’t even realize had fallen.

You sighed, not seeing much of a point to keep this to yourself any longer. You pulled out your phone again, pulling up the song as well.

“I’m, I’m gonna go back to our room for now. I’m done for the day so, I’ll see you at the concert?” you asked, softly.

Rob smiled, leaning up to kiss you.

“I love you.” said Rob, as you walked out. He sighed, sitting on the couch and pulling his headphones out of his pocket. Knowing you, the next few minutes were definitely going to change your relationship.

Strung Out Photographs (A Billy Moran Fanfic)- Chapter 2

A/N: THIS TOOK SO LONG I’M SO SORRY AHHHHH.

*CHAPTER IN BILLY’S POINT OF VIEW*

I sat at the same table, a bit dumbfounded. Who was this girl? Why was she so intriguing?

The girl raised her hands, signing something way too quickly for me to understand with my limited knowledge of the language. I held my hand up to stop her.

“I o-n-l-y k-n-o-w t-h-e a-l-p-h-a-b-e-t.” I finger spelled. The girl smiled, I could tell she was surprised either way.

“O-n-e s-e-c.” said the girl, catching on to the only finger spelling. She turned to her computer, pulling up a word document.

“Hi! I’m Carver.” she typed, turning the computer to me. I laughed, she was smart.

“Nice to meet you, Carver.” I typed, pushing the computer back to her.

Carver looked the words I typed. Reaching her hand up, she pointed to each word, doing a sign after it.

“Is that how you sign ‘nice to meet you’?” I asked. She nodded. Gosh, she was really beautiful.

“Can I ask what you’re doing here? I’ve never seen you around before.” I said, typing again.

Reading the computer screen, Carver lifted her hands up, miming the action of taking a picture. Then it clicked, Chris was leaving early this weekend and Creation had given the choice on whom else to hire.

Before I could type anything else, a guy walked up behind her, tapping her on the shoulder before looking towards me.

“Sorry to interrupt.” said the guy, signing and speaking. Carver watched every move, so I assume he was her interpreter.

“Carver, Chris is here.” said the guy. He pointed to Chris standing by the door, he had just walked in. Carver turned and looked, nodding. She turned back to me.

“D-u-t-y c-a-l-l-s.” she finger spelled, signing with one hand and using the other to close her computer.

“Nice to meet you, B-i-l-l-y.” I recognized ‘nice to meet you’ by now.

“Nice to meet you, C-a-r-v-e-r.”

With another smile, she walked away.

“Earth to Billy?” I jumped, surprised at the sudden voice. I must have zoned out a bit too long. I looked up to see Richard standing above me, waving his hand in front of my face.

“Oh, hey Rich. What’s up?” I asked.

“You’ve been staring at your guitar pic for like 10 minutes.”

“Oh, have I?” I asked, not really paying attention. My eyes glazed over to Carver, she stood on the other side of the green room, talking to Chris. Rob and her, I assume, interpreter stood with her.

Richard followed my gaze.

“Why are you staring at Carver?” asked Rich.

“Wait, you know her?” I asked, slightly confused yet surprised.

“Dude, you don’t? You’ve known Rob longer than I have, hell I only ever met her the one time, but…” I gave him a confused head tilt. I’d known Rob for years and he never even mentioned someone named Carver.

“You really don’t know who she is? Dude, that’s Carver Benedict, Rob’s little sister.”

My eyes widened, shooting my head back over to her. Rob had another sister?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A/N: So I don’t have to type the interpreting anymore, whenever Carver is in a conversation with someone and she responds automatically, assume it’s because Danny is interpreting for her unless stated otherwise. Cool? Cool.

“Okay, so your job for now before I leave tomorrow afternoon is to shadow me, watch the routines of the photo opps and things like that. You following me?” asked Chris. Chris, Danny, and I were in the photo opp room, waiting for the day to begin.

I nodded at Chris.

“Whenever we’re not in here or you have free time, feel free to take pictures of whatever you want.”

“Cool, and again, I appreciate this opportunity Chris.” I said, signing back.

“No problem, I loved your portfolio. Can’t believe I didn’t make the connection that you’re Rob’s sister though! Guess talent runs in the family.”

I smiled at Chris slightly, a bit uncomfortable at the comment. Rob and I were nothing alike.

Chris turned, completing the set-up of his camera equipment. Apparently Rob’s photo opps were first, so we’ll see how this goes.

A/N: Never been to a convention, forgive me if I get the order of photo-opps wrong.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“How’s she doing?” asked Rob to Chris later in the afternoon. Chris had left Carver to handle the Kim and Briana photo opps for practice. Rob and him stood in the back of the room, watching Carver and Danny work.

“Dude, she’s fantastic. I’ve never seen anyone understand what to capture so easily, especially without having to be told. Danny’s barely done any interpreting.”

“Yeah, she’s always been like that. I’m pretty sure Danny’s only here for emergencies.” said Rob, staring at his little sister in awe.

Here’s the truth, Rob and Carver Benedict were nothing alike. Rob was 8 years old when Carver was born, so the age difference was hard enough.

But then it was discovered that Carver was deaf, and the Benedict family’s entire world changed.

Rob’s a musician; music had been his life for as long as he could remember. It was really hard for him to make a connection with someone, who he thought, couldn’t appreciate one of the things he loved.

If he was honest with himself, it took him years to finally buck down and learn American Sign Language. Years went by with communications being made with just a pencil and paper.

If he was honest with himself, he didn’t even realize Carver had moved to Los Angeles.

If he was honest with himself, there was a reason none of his band mates even knew she existed.

If he was honest with himself, Rob didn’t even know Carver had started a photography business.

But, if he was really honest with himself, he had no idea that a guitarist in a room on the other side of the convention hotel was using his free time to look up basic ASL lessons on YouTube. A musician that was willing to do all the things that Rob hadn’t.

“You’re sick. This can be cured. We can get you help.”

“I’m just gay, dad. This isn’t a disease.”

“Then you aren’t my son.”

Rob sat in the hidden grove of the forest, hidden behind a cave. Back against the cave well, he sat with his knees against his chest. The tears flew down his face as he tried his best not to hyperventilate.

16 years it took him to tell his father, 16 years too soon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rich sat on the swing of his back porch, fiddling around with his bass guitar. Not much on his mind, just wanting to pass the time.

All of a sudden, his phone rang in his pocket.

CALL: Robbie :-P

Smiling seeing his boyfriend’s name, he clicked answer.

“Hey babe, what’s up?”

“Rich?” Rich tilted his head in confusion, checking at the caller ID again to make sure he hadn’t read it wrong. It was Matt Benedict on the phone, not Rob.

“Rich?! Hello?” asked Matt.

“Matt?”

“Is Rob with you? For Christ’s sake please tell me he’s with you.”

“No, no he isn’t. Matt what’s going on?” asked Rich. He set his bass to the side, sitting up; he was now really concerned.

“Rob told Dad.”

“Rob told your dad wha-….oh.”

“Yeah, and he ran out of the house right after; we haven’t seen him since. We’d been trying to call him, but I just found his phone in our room. God, Rich, I was hoping he was with you. It’s been almost two hours.”

“It’s been almost two hours, and you’re just now calling me?” asked Rich. He was already halfway inside to get his shoes and keys. His boyfriend was missing.

“Like I said, I was hoping he was with you. Do you know where he could be?” asked Matt.

Of course he knew; he always knew Rob’s hiding places.

“Yeah, yeah I think I know where he is. But, Matt, I can’t promise you I’ll be able to bring him back home if he’s there. But if I find him, you’ll know immediately.”

“I just need to know he’s safe. Staying at your house for a while is the least of my worries. Just let me know he’s safe.”

Rich looked outside, seeing the raindrops beginning to pour.

“Deal.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Rob?! Robbie, are you here?! Rob it’s me! Just call out to me, baby. It’s just me here, I promise.”

Rob’s eyes opened slowly; sleep still evident. He sat up, just now realizing he was soaking wet.

“Dammit.” said Rob. His body started trembling from the cold.

“Robbie!” said a voice, coming from behind him. Rich, he could tell. It was Rich. He lifted his arm up, just high enough for it to be seen above the rock.

“Oh, Robbie.” said Rich. The rain was still pouring as Rich ran up, pulling a blanket out from his backpack, and wrapping it around Rob.

“Let’s get you home, bub. Okay?” asked Rich, softly. He pulled Rob up, getting him to stand.

Rob shook his head quickly, burying himself into Rich chest. He couldn’t go home, not now. Not yet. The tears started again as his body shook even more.

“Shh, shh. It’s alright, I got you.” said Rich. He wrapped his arms around Rob, trying his best to calm him.

“Back to mine then?” All Rob could do was nod.

Keeping one arm wrapped around Rob, he led him back to his car, helping him into the front seat. Slipping into the driver’s side, he pulled his phone out from the glove compartment, dialing Matt.

“Hello?” asked Matt.

“Hey man, it’s Rich. Just wanted to let you know I found him. He’s alright, soaked and shaken up, but he’s safe.”

“Oh thank god. Mom’s been freaking out, but I’ll tell her you got him. I’m assuming he’ll be staying at your house for a while?” asked Matt.

Rich took a glance at Rob. By this point, Rob had curled himself into a ball in the front seat, the tears still falling.

“Yeah, you could say that.”

Matt sighed. “He knows it’s safe to talk to me, I’ve known about you two for months. Just let him know it’s safe to talk to mom too, alright?”

“Yeah, of course. We’ll talk to you later, Matt.”

“Bye.”

Sliding his phone into the front cup holder, Rich lifted the middle divider, adding on to the space. The second he did, Rob slid over, burying his head into Richard’s chest, sobbing heavily.

Starting the car, Rich wrapped his arm around him again.

“I got ya, let’s just get you some place warm.” said Rich. He drove off.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arm still around Rob, Rich led him into his house.

“Head upstairs baby, alright? I’m just gonna get some warm blankets and extra clothes.” Rob nodded, slipping his shoes off. The blanket Rich had given him was still around him. He turned towards the stairs.

“Hey Robbie?” Rob stopped, turning around.

“I love you.”

Rob walked up; pulling Rich into a kiss with any energy he had left at the moment. Rich kissed back, wrapping his arm around Rob’s lower back.

“God I love you.”

Rob turned back around, limping his way up the stairs.

Rich turned to the kitchen, trying to find a way to explain to his mom all that’s just happened.

“Mom?” asked Rich, quietly.

His mom stood at the kitchen counter, turning around to face her son.

“Yeah Rich?”

“Um. Rob, Rob has to stay here for a few days. Is that alright?” he asked, a little nervously.

Rich’s mom smiled, pulling him into a hug. A little confused, he hugged back.

“Vivienne called me. She told me everything. And I mean everything.”

Oh.

Rich pulled back, a lot nervous now.

“Oh.” he said.

“Hey, don’t be mad at her, okay? I think she just assumed I knew already.”

“I’m, I’m not mad. It’s just… not the coming out I was hoping for I guess.”

All of a sudden, the sound of the dryer being done could be heard from the ajar laundry room. Rich’s mom went off, returning shortly with a stack of blankets and clothes, warm from the dryer. She handed them to Rich.

“Go, we’ll talk more later, alright? Because damn you’re soaked. Go make sure he’s alright. Know you’re both accepted and loved here.”

Taking the blankets and clothes from his mom, he nodded at her.

“Thank you, Mom. Thank you.”

Rich ran up the stairs, his wet shoes discarded by the door.

He opened his door, closing it before turning to face his boyfriend.

Oh God.

Rob stood in front of Rich’s mirror, shirtless. His chest and arms were covered in scars, some fresh, some new. All obviously from his own doing.

“Oh, Robbie.” said Rich, not really sure what to say.

Startled by the sound of Rich’s voice, Rob jumped, grabbing a blanket to cover himself.

“No, Robbie. Hey. It’s okay.” Rich walked forward, pulling Rob’s arms away as he stuck them to his chest trying to cover himself.

Rich sighed, looking into the blue eyes of the boy in front of him. He kissed Rob’s forehead.

“Let’s just get out of these wet clothes, and then we’ll talk?” asked Rich. Rob nodded slightly as Rich stepped back to strip out of his wet jacket and t-shirt. He dried his chest off with a towel he had grabbed before slipping on a hoodie. He looked up at Rob, noticing he hadn’t moved. Rich sighed, realizing.

“They’re on your legs too, aren’t they?” asked Rich. Rob nodded, not trusting his voice. He was so afraid he would start crying again.

“Would it help if I turned around?” asked Rich. Still for a moment, Rob nodded again. Rich turned around, continuing to change to put on a pair of sweatpants.

“You- you can turn around now.”

Rich turned around, now seeing Rob in Rich’s gym sweats.

“Come here.” said Rich, pulling Rob to the bed.

“But I thought-.” Rich cut him off.

“It’s been a long and rough day, Rob. Right now, you’re gonna lay here, possibly sleep, I’m gonna hold you. We’ll talk in a while. But right now I’m more worried about your current mental state than your dick of a father.”

Rob sighed, joining Rich under the covers. He didn’t realize how exhausted he was until now. Rich pulled Rob to his chest, both arms wrapped around him. The two slowly fell asleep.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“How long?” asked Rich. It was 3 AM as R2 lay wide awake in Rich’s bed. Richard’s mom had been kind enough to leave food for the both of them on the desk as they had slept through dinner.

Rob sighed, knowing Rich was referring to the cuts and scratches covering his arms and body.

“Almost 3 months.” said Rob. His voice had finally found his way back to him.

Rich rolled onto his side so he and Rob could face each other. He stroked his hand up Rob’s arm softly, trying to keep him calm in the current situation.

“Talk to me baby, please. Please don’t shut me out.”

Rob shut his eyes, trying to keep a tear in that was already threatening to spill.

“I just feel, I just feel so empty. And sad. All the time Rich. All the time.”

“What about?” asked Rich.

“I don’t even know though, that’s the thing. And that just makes it worse. I feel so guilty about it. Ugh, about it all.” He felt the tear escape, not bothering to hold it back this time.

“About…about being gay maybe?” Rich was a little afraid to hear the answer. He also knew, though, that Rob was having a tougher time with it.

Rob leaned forward, pressing his lips against Rich’s. He laid his head against Rich’s chest, tucked under his neck.

“I can’t tell you no to that, Richie. Cause frankly it hurts, it hurts knowing what my dad thinks of me. That look in his eyes when I told him, I can’t forget it.” Rich sighed, bringing his arm to Rob’s back to pull him in closer.

“But I will tell you Rich, you’re the one thing that makes sense to me in me right now. I love you so much.”

“I love you too.” said Rich, kissing the top of his head.

“Rob, sit up for a second.” Rich sat up as Rob joined him. He reached down, intertwining their hands together.

“Your mom, she’s okay with it. Matt told me, and you know already Matt is okay with it or else he wouldn’t have kept you coming out to him a secret for the past year and a half.”

Rob nodded, letting go of a breath he didn’t realize he was holding in. Rich pulled at the end of Rob’s sleeve a bit, debating on how to do this.

“Can I, can I see them?” asked Rich. He looked into the blue of Rob’s eyes, hoping Rob could see the love he had for him through the glance.

Rob stayed silent for a moment before nodding, slowly pulling off his sweatshirt. Meanwhile, Rich leaned behind him, turning on the lamp.

Turning back, his mouth went agape a little, just now seeing the plethora of marks covering Rob’s skin.

“Please don’t look at me like that.” said Rob quietly. He quickly did his best to cover his chest with his arm.

“Shh, Robbie. It’s okay. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to look at you in a different way.” He grabbed Rob’s hand, kissing it.

“I’m assuming the last time you hurt yourself was after talking to your dad?” asked Rich. Rob nodded.

“Look, I can’t make you promise to stop, but I do need you to promise me to at least try. I trust you enough not taking away any razors in your bathroom, but I need you to promise me.”

Before giving Rob a chance to answer, Rich pulled him into a hug, stroking his head as he thread his fingers through Rob’s hair. He went on.

“Whenever you have the urge, just come to me, please. Whenever you feel like giving up, or giving in, I don’t care if it’s 4 AM and you’re throwing rocks at my window. Just come to me, please. I’m not letting you go through this by yourself, not anymore.”

Rob was the one to release from the hug, slamming his lips against Richard’s in a heated kiss. He could taste the salt of his own tears.

“I-I pro-pro-mise.”

Rich leaned down, pressing a small kiss to as many different marks he could see. The two of them hadn’t been this intimate before, but he really didn’t care. Rob thread his hands through Rich’s hair, pulling him up to kiss him again.

“You’re not alone.” said Rich against Rob’s lips.

“Not anymore.”

Know That I Love You (Rob Benedict x Richard Speight, Jr.)

Teenage!Rob x Teenage!Rich

"Truth or dare." Said Matt, staring at Rich.

Teenage Matt, Rob, Rich, Bri, and Kim sat in Rich's living room, playing a stupid game on a Saturday night. With a glance you could tell just how bored the 17 year olds were. Rich sat at the end of the couch, Rob, his boyfriend, laid on it, his feet across Rich's lap. "Uh, truth I guess." Said Rich. He was too comfortable in the current position to choose dare and risk moving. "How many times have you fucked?" Asked Matt, not even skipping a beat. Rich's eyes went wide as he choked on his coke a bit, not expecting that question at all. He glanced over at Rob who was squirming slightly. None, the answer was none, and his boyfriend was obviously uncomfortable. Rob had sat up, trying to ignore how uncomfortable he felt. He stared at his hands, nodding slightly telling Rich he could expose the secret to their best friends. "None." Said Rich, rather confidently. Matt spat out his beer, along with Bri and Kim. "Wait, what?!" Asked Bri, totally surprised. "Yeah, i second that. What??" Said Kim. Matt took at look at Rich, not believing him. He glanced at Rob. "You two doofuses have been together since 8th grade. 8th fucking grade, and you're telling me you're both virgins??" Asked Matt. Yeah. He definitely didn't believe them. Rob squirmed some more, now really uncomfortable. He was the shiest of the group. Hell he only ever spoke if he needed too, took some convincing from Rich to hang out tonight with the others in the first place. Now he really regretted it. Noticing, Rich slid over, wrapping his arm around Rob'a waist, giving a gentle squeeze. He placed a kiss to his cheek, now looking over to his friend. "Relationships aren't defined by sex, Cohen. Get you're dick back in your pants and shut it." He gave Rob another squeeze, trying to comfort him as best as he could in this situation. Rich turned to Briana. "Truth or dare?" ------------------------------------------ Rob and Rich laid on Rich's bed watching tv. Deciding to stay the night after their friends had left, the room was silent. Rob laid, his head on Rich's chest. Rich's arm wrapped around him, holding him as best he could. They both laid under the covers, the tv on. Other than that the two were quiet, but there was a lot on Rob's mind. "Richie?" Rob asked softly, half scared to start the conversation. "Hmm?" Hummed Rich, kissing the top of Rob's head. "Can- can I talk to you about something?" He asked. Rob shook when he got nervous, and he was shaking now. Feeling it, Rich immediately turned off the tv, flicking on the lamp beside him. He sat up, facing Rob. "What's up Robbie?" asked Rich, looking concerned and confused at the same time. Rob took a deep breath, not really sure how to start this. He looked down at his hands, fidgeting a bit. "Hey, hey. Look at me." Said Rich. He tuck his finger under Rob's chin,  making him look him in the eyes. Leaning in, Rich pressed his lips against Rob's kissing him softly. "It's me, baby. You can talk to me about anything. You know that." Rob nodded, calming himself. "The question Matt asked, during- during Truth or Dare.. have you ever, wanted to have sex? Have you ever wondered why we, you know, haven't?" asked Rob. Rich sighed, scratching the back of his neck. He needed to choose his words carefully. Grabbing Rob's hand, he squeezed it. "I'm gonna be honest with you, Robbie. I have thought about it. About a year or a year and a half ago I started thinking about it. I know I love you. I know I'm ready for it. And you're so beautiful and perfect, I want to share that with you." Rob took a deep breath, looking down. He knew he was the reason they hadn't done it yet. His arms were covered with scars, scars not even Richard knew about. He loved Richard so much, but he just was so scared about what was hidden underneath. "But-." Rob looked up, surprised that there was more. "But then I took a minute and realized how much of an idiot I was being. I meant what I said to Matt tonight; a relationship isn't defined by sex. I realized I was being an idiot because I realized how in love with you I was. I realized how I'd wait a 100 years for you if you needed. I don't care about that part of the relationship. I'm right here, with you, and that's all that matters." Rob gasped, he could feel the tears welling up in his eyes. Rich chuckled a little bit, reaching up and wiping the tear going down Rob's cheek. Rich pushed forward, capturing Rob's lips in a heated kiss, wrapping his arms around him. He was trying so hard to show him, show him he didn't need sex, he just needed him. Pulling away for air, he threaded his hands through Rob's hair. "I love you, Richie." said Rob, nuzzling his head into Rich's neck to hide the blush his cheeks held. Rich tightened his grip around Rob into a hug. "I love you too, baby. So much. So damn much."

Guitar Picks P.2 (Rob Benedict x Richard Speight, Jr.)

Ah conventions. Weekends filled with anything and everything, any actor barely had time to sleep. Especially Rob and Rich. Since Rob and Rich had to be at conventions on Friday, they were there first. Every since their relationship had began, they had flown in together. Ever since Rob's huge panic attack a few weeks back, Rich had been keeping an extra eye. Rob hadn't used the safe word yet, but he could always tell when his boyfriends hands would shake just a little bit more than usual. This was one of those times. Rob stood at the hotel bathroom sink, hands against the edge. He wasn't exactly having a panic attack, but he could feel the anxiousness in his chest. Looking down at the floor, he didn't hear Richard come in. Heck, he didn't notice until he felt 2 hands wrap around his waist from behind, a small kiss pressed against the back of his bare neck. "You alright Robbie?" Asked Rich, softly. Rob turned around in his boyfriends arms, pulling him into a hug. Hoping this feeling would pass, he nodded quickly, nuzzling his head into Rich's chest. Rich knew better to argue, any pushing could just make whatever Rob was feeling worse. He sighed, tightening the hug, just trying to make Rob feel better any way he can. Pulling away from the hug, Rob looked at Rich. "Let's just go get some breakfast now, okay?" Rich nodded, stroking Rob's cheek. "Okay." ----------------------------------------------- Time passed. The feeling had not gone away. It was moments like these that Richard could realize how good of an actor Rob was. To an untrained eye he looked fine. Rich's eyes were trained. All through morning panels, autographs, even some photo ops, Rich could tell. He could see the extra shake in his hands, how he was sweating just slightly. He could see him coughing more, trying to breathe better. He even noticed how much Rob never left his side if he could help it, Rich's presence was an automatic feeling of sanctuary. Then the annual R2M panel happened. Rich, Rob, and Matt stood on stage, almost all of the way through their afternoon panel. Rob was getting worse, shaking more, and him containing it wasn't helping. "What's your favorite Kings of Con memory?" Asked a fan, not realize the intensity of the area. "Definitely being able to play a complete 180 of my self." Said Matt with a laugh. "How about you, Rich?" "Oh, I don't know, having an excuse to spend all moments of the day with your boyfriends pretty nice." The audience awed, just recently finding out about the two men's relationship. "How about you, Robbie?" Asked Matt. Rich and Matt turned to Rob, and it wasn't a pretty site. Rob was hunched over a chair, his breathing audible even through Rich's in-ears. Rob pulled the mic to his mouth, wanting nothing more than to get off the stage at the moment. "Ehhh heeeh ehhhh heee Guita- Guitar Pick." Rob said in between breaths. Rich's head whipped up at the words, turning towards the audience quickly. "Would you excuse us, for one moment?" asked Rich quickly, ignoring the confused looks from Matt. Rich grabbed Rob's arm, pulling him off stage as fast and as safe as he could. Setting Rob down on a couch in the green room, Rich pulled a chair up so he could sit across from him. Rich sat his hands on Rob's knees. "Let it out, Robbie. It's okay." Rob broke in a second, the tears streaming down his face. His breathing quickened, and he rocked back and forth quietly. Rich pulled Rob into his chest, one hand wrapped around Rob's neck while the other stroked his back lightly. "I love you so much sweetheart. You're safe, right here. I'm right here Robbie. I got you." Rob's breathing slowed slightly, but not by much. Rich started worrying he was gonna pass out. Matt walked back in, the panel apparently now over. Rob's face was in Rich's shoulder, the tears still there. "Is he alright?" Mouthed Matt to Rich. Rich held up a hand. "He will be." he mouthed back. "W-w-water?" asked Rob, almost as quiet as a mouse. "I got it Robbie." Said Matt, walking out to get water so Rich could comfort Rob. "Shhh, Robbie. I got you. I'm right here." Rich released Rob slightly, yet still holding him close. He grabbed one of Rob's hands, placing it on his own chest so Rob could feel his heartbeat. He put Rob's other hand on Rob's chest. "Here Robbie, match your heartbeat to mine. You're safe, I promise." Matt walked in, handing Rich the water bottle quickly before walking out again. Rich opened it, giving it to Rob. Taking a sip, he seemed to be calming down. After a minute, Rob's breathing steadied. He looked up at Rich, tears still evident in his eyes. Rich reached up and wiped one away as it fell. "You alright?" asked Rich. Rob nodded, having a hard time getting words out. "I'm- I'm sorry." Said Rob quietly. He looked down at his hands "Hey hey, look at me." Said Rich, using his finger to make Rob look at him. Rich leaned in, kissing his boyfriend, still in an attempt to get him to calm down even. Letting go, Rob leaned his head into Rich's shoulder. "I don't deserve you." whispered Rob. Rich tightened his grip on Rob, wrapping him in another hug. "I love you too much to hear you say that." "I love you too." Better Than Willow (Rob Benedict x Reader)

A/N: Do you ever have those times when you start writing a one shot and by the end of it you’re just like why the heck did I write this? Yeah. That’s me with this one. Welp.

“I’ll see you Monday.”

“Man, I just feel so bad for Willow! She’s in love with Xander and he’s just a doof.” said Rob, leaning back against the couch opposite of you. It was a Friday night, and you and Rob were sitting on the floor of your living room, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was another one of those nights when you didn’t have anything else better to do.

You were a recurring character on Supernatural, a witch turned hunter, and the fans had just adored you. You had known Rich for years, but only met Rob and others through the conventions. Over time R2 had become your best friends.

One little problem.  A problem that only Rich knew and he had been sworn to secrecy.

You had fallen in love with Rob.

I mean, who could blame you? Those piercing blue eyes; that laugh. He was the most genuine and kind person you have ever met.

God damn your heart, it’s always causing you problems.

“Man, it must suck, falling in love with your best friend and they’re just oblivious.” said Rob, taking a sip of his beer.

“Yeah, I would know.” you said softly to yourself, not really thinking before speaking.

Rob choked up on his drink, obviously hearing your words and making a connection.

Rich was married, he wasn’t.

“Wait, what?” asked Rob, immediately grabbing the remote and pausing the show.

Your eyes went wide, realizing what you just did.

“Uh, nothing! I mean, it must really suck, especially being best friends and all, ha.” You reached over to grab the remote.

“Let’s just keep watching, shall we?” you asked. But it was Rob, you should have known better than to think he would drop it.

“Oh hell no,” Rob grabbed the remote before you could, “what do you mean, ‘you would know’?”

“Um…” you scratched the back of your neck, bringing your knees up close to you; something you always did when you were nervous.

“Do you, um, do you, do you have feel-.” I cut him off.

“Can we, can we just forget that the past 2 minutes never happened?” You took a swig of your beer. Dear God you could be an idiot sometimes.

Rob slumped back, a defeated look on his face.

“Well… if you’re sure.” He knew you as well as you knew him. Rob grabbed the remote again, turning the show back on.

Oh great, now you’ve done it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rob and Rich sat at a table in a bar, beers in front of both of them. The first con of the year was coming up, and the two co-hosts needed to preplan.

However, Rob had other things on his mind.

“Hello, earth to Bob-o? Robbie you still on the planet here or?” asked Rich. He could tell his best friend had zoned out.

Rob shook a little, coming to.

“Huh, what?” he asked.

“Pretty sure you haven’t heard anything I’ve said in the last five minutes.” said Rich.

“Sorry, I’m sorry. I just. Ugh.” Rob laid his forehead on the table.

“What’s on your mind, Bob-o?”

Rob looked up, being careful of his words. He didn’t know if Rich knew about Y/N.

Fuck it.

“How long has Y/N been in love with me?”

Rich choked on his drink.

“Is in love the right term? I mean. Ugh. How long has she had feelings for me?”

Rich sat his glass down, not saying a word. He had to be careful on what he said as well.

“I was wondering when you were gonna bring it up.” he said.

“She told you?” asked Rob. I mean, he had assumed, but it had been about a week since he had seen you.

“Are you kidding, she was banging down my door as soon as you had left.” said Rich.

“Rich, I left her house at one in the morning.”

“I know.”

Rich sighed.

“Remember that time you were totally obsessed with that girl from Jason’s show? How Y/N did whatever she could to help you get her attention?”

“Buddy, that was nearly 3 years ago.”

“Dude, why do you think she tried so hard to help?”

Rob’s eyes went wide in realization. You had sat with him with every idea, stayed by your side when you were just plain old frustrated.

Slamming his fist on the table slightly, Rob slid back in his chair, again frustrated.

“Dammit, Y/N.”

“What is it?” asked Rich.

“I fell in love with her a year later.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Thank you! Goodnight!” said Rob on stage. It was Saturday night, and the annual Saturday Night Special had just ended.

The band navigated backstage, joining the rest of the group.

“Alright, everyone ready to get back to Briana’s room?” asked Kim, ready to head towards the annual after show gathering. A crowd of murmured yesses went through the room. People slowly headed out, you stood up, ready to follow.

“Hey Y/N? Wait up?” You turned around. It was Rob, the last one in the room as he was still packing up his guitar.

It was also the same Rob that you haven’t had the courage to speak to for the past two weeks.

“Um. Sure.” Rich gave you a look as he stood by the door.

“Talk. To. Him.” He mouthed at you, before leaving.

“No.” Rich groaned at you, but left, leaving just you and Rob. After a few moments, he closed the case, leaving it in the corner for the next day. He walked toward you, offering his arm.

“Ready to go?” You laughed slightly, taking his arm.

“Lead the way.”

The two of you walked in silence, making your way to Briana’s hotel room. After a while, Rob spoke up.

“So…”

“So…”

“Y/N, were you ever gonna tell me?” asked Rob.

You sighed.

“No, not really.” you said.

Rob sighed, laughing slightly as he sat down on a bench in the lobby. He pulled you down with him.

“Man do I feel like a dick.” said Rob. He set his head in his hand, pushing his hair back.

“Why?”

He turned towards you, grabbing your hand in his.

“That girl from Jason’s show.”

“Oh, that.”

“Yeah, that.” said Rob.

You looked down, not really knowing what to say.

“Hey, look at me, please.” Rob reached his hand out, lifting your chin up.

“It’s okay.” Rob leaned in, apparent to kiss you.

Was this really happening? The man you’ve been striving for for almost three years? It couldn’t be. You jumped up.

“Don’t.” you said, stepping back.

“Y/N-.”

“You’re my best friend Rob; I don’t need you to pity me.”

“Do you really think that low of me to believe that I would actually do something like that?” asked Rob, both surprised yet slightly offended. You didn’t really know what to say to that.

“God, Y/N. I wish you would have told me sooner. I wish you didn’t stay by my side when I was obsessed with that random girl. I wish you would have given me a slap in the face and maybe then I would have realized sooner. But no, I didn’t realize it till a year later.”

You looked down at your feet, crossing your arms in solace.

“Realize what?”

Rob stepped forward, using one arm to hold you against him and using the other to again lift up your chin. He leaned down, pressing his lips against yours, giving you the thing you’ve been waiting years for.

Eventually, he stepped back, looking directly into your eyes. You looked into his.

“I’m in love with you too.”

Strung Out Photographs (A Billy Moran Fanfic)- Chapter 1

A/N: I can’t believe I actually wrote this oh my lord. I would SERIOUSLY appreciate feedback on this friendos. I tagged anyone who sounded interested in the fanfic, but please tell me and I’ll tag you in any future chapters!

NOTE: As someone who is conversationally fluent in American Sign Language, I am aware of the grammatical differences between ASL and English. For the sake of it being a written story, ASL is written as if it were English.

“You alright, Carver?” asked Danny, signing to me as we walked through the busy hotel that was holding this weekend’s Supernatural convention.

“Fine, I’m fine.” I said, signing back. Danny was my best friend, as well as my ASL interpreter. Both his roles were definitely going to be needed this weekend.

I looked down at my badge on my lanyard.

Carver Benedict Assistant Photographer All Access Reference- Chris Schmelke

Danny tapped my shoulder. “It’s just I know how long it’s been since you’ve seen your brother.”

“I know. I just don’t know how he’s going to react to seeing me. You know how iffy our relationship has been.”

“Ah, the classic case; the musician doesn’t know how to handle having a deaf sister.” I shoved him on the shoulder.

This was going to be a long weekend.

I took in my surroundings as we walked towards the direction of the green room. Thousands of people, girls mostly, surrounding the walls and room. Rob and I may not see each other as much as I wish we would, but I was sure damn proud of him.

Danny and I finally reached the green room, a man stood outside the door. I’m assuming Clif. Danny and I raised our badges. Clif nodded, letting us in.

“See Chris?” signed Danny.

“Nope. How about Rob and Rich?” I asked, signing back. I had had the opportunity to meet Rich in the past and we had gotten along pretty well.

Danny shook his head. He pointed to the bathroom on the other side of the room. “I’ll be back.” I nodded, turning my attention to my camera that was still in my bag strapped to me.

Rob and I had a rough relationship to say the least. With me being significantly younger, and well, deaf, it was just hard to find a common ground. Normal, I guess.

I was a photographer, and I was getting pretty good as well. I liked pictures. You could tell a story without having to hear any words. Chris Schmelke hired me to help him this weekend because he had to leave Saturday afternoon. I was honored he had asked and immediately took the job.

All of a sudden, a hand was being waved in front of my face as I had been looking down at my camera. My eyes went wide and I looked up. A blonde woman stood before me, Briana I think her name was?

Her lips were moving, but of course I couldn’t hear anything.

I pointed to my ear, shaking my head quickly, trying to indicate my inability to know what she was saying. Thank God Danny opened the bathroom door just in time. He ran to my side. He started signing and speaking at the same time, I watched his hands.

“Sorry about that, Carver here is deaf. My name’s Danny, her interpreter. What were you saying?”

The woman’s eyes went wide as she turned back to me. She spoke, but I continued to watch Danny.

“I’m so sorry for my ignorance! My name’s Briana, we were all just wondering why someone we didn’t know was standing in the corner of the room, not talking to anyone.”

“No need to apologize,” I signed. “I’m looking for either Christ Schmelke or Rob Bene-.” Before I could even finish finger spelling the name Benedict, I was engulfed in a hug, I stumbled back a bit.

It was Rob.

“What are you doing here?” signed Rob quite excitedly. Realizing it was my older brother that I hadn’t seen in years, it was my turn to engulf him in a hug.

“Chris hired me to help him this weekend.” I signed, I showed him my badge. Rob’s smile just grew bigger, giving me another hug.

“Hey, Danny!” signed Rob, using Danny’s sign name. He shook my best friends hand in a greeting. Rob and Danny turned to Briana as she started speaking again. I turned back to Danny.

“What’s going on here?” asked Briana. Rob answered, signing and speaking for my benefit.

“Briana,” finger spelled Rob, “meet my little sister. Carver Benedict.”

“Nice to meet you.” I signed, Danny voicing.

“Are you the photographer taking over for Chris after Saturday?” asked Briana. “He said he has a family thing or something.”

I nodded, looking from Danny to Briana.

Rob tapped me on the shoulder.

“The convention is going to start soon. I have to introduce Briana here and Kim with Rich, who’s going to be very excited to see you by the way. Chris isn’t going to be here till later. You and Danny going to be alright till then?” signed Rob.

“You underestimate me big brother.”

Rob smiled, ruffling my hair as he walked away. Briana tapped my shoulder.

“It was nice to meet you!” she said with a smile. I looked back at her from Danny, smiling as well.

“Nice to meet you as well.” I signed, Danny speaking again for me.

Danny and I were left by ourselves again.

“Hey Carver, I’m going to go get our stuff from the car and put it in our room. Are you going to be alright here by yourself?” signed Danny.

“Yeah, I’ll be alright. I’m just going to make sure that my memory cards are all set up.” I gestured to an empty table I planned to sit at. All that was there was a dark orange guitar, left abandoned.

Danny nodded at me, leaving the room. I went and sat down in the chair next to the guitar.

I grabbed my computer out of my bag, making sure everything was in order. Chris was going to have me shadow him for the first day and a half before leaving me on my own for the last day and a half. He had given me a list of things to have and I just wanted to make sure I had everything on his list.

After a while, a felt someone moving the guitar, sitting down in the chair next to me. I looked up, expecting to see my brother, but not. A younger guy with black curly hair and glasses sat next to me. Not wanting to deal with the struggle of a language barrier, I quickly looked back down to the laptop.

Until he tapped me on the shoulder.

Looking up, the guy’s lips started moving, indicating he was saying things I obviously couldn’t hear. I quickly pointed to my ear, shaking my head; trying my best to indicate my deafness. But the guy caught me by surprise.

“O-h,” he began finger spelling, “M-y n-a-m-e i-s B-i-l-l-y.”

The Morning After (Rob Benedict x Reader)

Summary: You and Rob have sex for the first time, your first time, and he wants to make sure you know how much you mean to him.

You woke up with a soft grown, the light from the window shining in your eyes. Taking in your surroundings, thoughts from last night came back to you.

Are you sure?” asked Rob, as he lay on top of you, careful not to crush your small figure.

You reached up and kissed him, nodding your head slightly. You were ready, you trusted Rob more than anything.

Rob nodded, pushing himself into you slowly. You grabbed his hand and squeezed it tight. He squeezed back, not daring to let go.

Smiling at the memory, you zoned back to where you were. Rob and you laid in bed, completely naked, his arm wrapped around you as you had your head laying on his chest. Your arm was wrapped around his torso.

You squeezed him tighter and pressed a kiss to his chest, loving the moment. Loving him.

“Good morning, beautiful.” said a groggily voice. You looked up to see Rob’s bright blue eyes, now awake.

“Good morning.” you said. You could feel your face turning red as you realized how close and intimate you two were in this moment.

“Last night was-” Rob cut you off.

“Amazing.” he said. You reached up and kissed him, smiling through it.

“Was, was it ok? Were you ok?” asked Rob shyly. He knew how much last night meant to you. You knew how much it meant to him that you had trusted him enough to let him see you. All of you.

“You underestimate yourself, Mr. Benedict. Perfect, that’s what it was.” you said, your head still on his chest as you squeezed him again.

Rob laughed slightly, rubbing your back with his hand. He kissed the top of your head.

The two of you lay there quietly just taking everything in. You didn’t think it was possible to feel this content in your life.

“Y/N?” asked Rob, breaking the silence.

“Hmmm?” you glanced up at him.

“You know how much I love you, right?”

You nodded, staring at him with love and concern mixed into one. Where was he going with this?

“I’m in love with you.”

Your body went sort of stiff as you took in what he just said. No one had said that to you before and he knew it.

“Rob I-”

“Wait, let me finish?” asked Rob. You could hear the anxiety in his voice. You nodded, implying for him to continue.

“You’re beautiful, Y/N. So beautiful. You mean so much to me, you don’t even know. Every day when I wake up in the morning. I’m so glad to know it’s your face that’s gonna greet me by my side. You’re my best friend, and I’m the luckiest man in the world to be able to call you my girlfriend. And last night? Last night is one of the best experiences of my life. I’ve never felt more connected to anyone in my entire life. I thank God it was with you.”

You could feel the tears escape your eyes as Rob said these words. Happiness. That’s all you could feel.

You slipped more on top of him now, your bodies pressed together. Rob’s face aligned with yours as you rested your hand on his cheek.

“I’m in love with you, Y/N.” said Rob softly, his hands caressing your back.

You leaned down, kissing him as passionately as you could.

“And I’m in love with you.”

A/N: I wrote this yesterday when I was supposed to be doing my APUSH homework and I post it today as I’m supposed to be doing my APUSH homework. Full circle.

Also, this is my favorite one show I’ve written. I hope you enjoyed it.
