"Who are we kidding right? It was just a dream."
Disappointment sounded in Regina's voice. She quickly looked up to Emma, making it seem as though she wanted the blonde to say otherwise, but Emma felt the courage inside her slowly diminish after being struck by Regina's statement. If it were a minute ago, she would have told her no. No it wasn't just a dream—not to her anyway—but now after hearing the mayor deny it all, she couldn't find it in her to set Regina straight. Whether she was bluffing out of embarrassment or not, Emma didn't want to take the risk.
"Right..." the blonde agreed, looking away to make sure Regina hadn't noticed the disappointed expression on her face.
"Besides, I'm with Robin and you...well...you're with Captain Guyliner," Regina added, doing little to suppress the jealousy in her tone.
"But—"
"No Emma," she interrupted, her voice sounding more brittle. "We...we can't"
