hey guys! I just want to let everyone know what they're getting into on my blog :)

Y'all can call me Yikes. She/her. This is an atla blog. I'm a fan artist and obsessive head canon creator.

Multishipper but I do admit I have favorites. You'll mostly see zutara, zutaraang, and sokkla out of me. I don't mind my art being reposted/my designs being used for any other ships tho! (Just credit me if you redraw)

There is this huge headcanon that firebenders are harder to burn, which I subscribed to almost immediately (mostly because of the angst potential for zuko lol), but now I've been thinking...

Does that mean the other benders have their own equivalent? I mean, they should. But what would it even be?

Would waterbenders take longer to drown? Be less thirsty? Just able to do without water for longer?

What about earthbenders? What would they have? Take less damage from blunt force treatment? Something to do with landslides or earthquakes? I have no idea!

Airbenders. What about them? Take no fall damage even without bending? Be able to hold their breath longer?

I just find it quite interesting that I've never seen anyone talk about this despite the firebender part being so prevalent in the fandom.

As always, I'm happy to hear your thoughts on this! :3

I just thought about the fact that Waterbenders could be less affected by the cold. You know, water and ice is their thing and they live at the poles. So Waterbenders could just seldom get frostbite or something. This would also be a nice parallel to the fire resistance of Firebenders I think.

Unfortunately I still can't think of anything else for the other two benders.

Maybe the skin of Earthbenders is tougher? Kinda like stone and thus they withstand more trauma to the body? That would circle back to less blunt force treatment I think.

Maybe Airbenders could have a better immunsystem? Hear me out, air is everywhere and there are multiple illnesses in it as well, so maybe they are more resistant to that? Could also be why Aang didn't get ill while the water siblings did. Don't really know about this one though, is kinda a reach.

I've got headcanons like these!

I like to think airbenders have big lungs, faster heart rates, and their blood cells carry more oxygen. This makes it possible to survive at such altitudes with no shortness of breath or altitude sickness.

I think water benders from the tribes are better at surviving off of meat based diets, and holding their breath under water, and withstanding the cold.

Being a multishipper is great because there is SUCH a wide range of dynamics and possibilities that can be explored between different characters. Biggest example for me is in atla.

Like I will never be sick of Kataang and I will never be sick of Zutara. They are my children and I love them equally.
