Favourite episode The secrets of Castle McDuck. Simply because I am a huge (Mc)Duck lore nerd. 🤭 Favourite season The first, but maybe I just can’t remember enough of the rest.
Favourite ship Super cliché but Daisy and Donald. Outside of dt17 my fav is Scroldie, but I was not feeling 2017 Goldie idk.
Favourite friendship Webby and everyone she meets.
Underrated character FETHRY 😔 Give my man the screentime and personality he deserves. They really watered down his quirkiness in dt17 however.
Favourite side character Gyro?
Favourite character arc Scrooge’s non-existent arc.
Favourite villain Magica, do I need to say more.
Favourite character design Definitely Daisy! I’d almost say her design is more cute than in the comics.

Duckburg’s Girls
They did a survey a loong while back and asked girls which female Duck character was their favourite. Probably no surprise but is was Magica. And it doesn’t take long to understand why.
First of all, there are arguably barely any girls in Duckburg for some reason compared to the male population? 😭 And most important, more then half of the girls were created just for the sole purpose of being a love interest. Daisy, Goldie, Brigitta etc. Of course there are exceptions, like grandma Duck, Dickie and Della. Yet the size of their role compared to their male counterparts is debatable.
Obviously by now things have slightly, depending on the writer, changed. Daisy goes on her own adventures besides going on dates with Donald and Brigitta sets up another business every week with her partner in crime. Still I believe the lack of whatever non-existant female protagonist (that’s not a love interest) is something to think about. At least the dt17 production team did, which resulted in Della finally making her major character debut after decades.
Also it doesn’t help that some (Italian) artist tries to push in his oc as Gladstone’s love interest. Ehem.
Anyway, it is no surprise young girls would rather look up to Magica when she’s a rare example of a major female character that’s not there mainly to be in love.

- Katrien Duck - Daisy Duck | Really old fashioned name lol
- Dagobert Duck - Scrooge McDuck | Dropping “Mc” is such a loss, it’s said he dropped it to save ink as stingy as he is. Also Dagobert is lend from the Germans.
- Guus Geluk - Gladstone Gander | Geluk = Luck
- Kwik, kwek en kwak - Huey, Dewey and Louie | Basically what a duck says (Quack/kwak)
- Zwarte Magica - Magica De Spell | “Black Magic(a)” cos thats what she does basically?
- Diederik Duck - Fethry Duck | Just a goofy name
- Gijs gans - Gus Goose | Gans = goose
- Superdonald - The duck avenger | I’ve always found this one weird, cos wdym you don’t see the link between superDONALD and Donald Duck 💀🙏
- Willie Wortel - Gyro Gearloose | Wortel = mathematical root (although it can also mean carrot but first one seems more obvious)
I think it’s to say that in Dutch some were given “actual” first names instead of charactonyms, except for HDL.
