If there was so much discourse over continents I CAN'T WAIT for you to find out about the south-up map
This is what the earth looks like btw
Ok stop answering to this post with "up and down don't matter in space" cause north and south are not up and down and their orientation doesn't matter on earth either. This is legit what the earth looks like.
Well somebody has a superiority complex. Go to a shrink or something idk
Just in case you're feeling important, our planet also looks like this:
"there's a very good reason we humans tend to draw north up maps" yeah, colonialism and eurocentrism. anyway south up rules

@elodieunderglass You might appreciate Jarke van Wijk's "Unfolding the Earth: Myriahedral Projections" (site, pdf)

Yulan magnolia flowers looking like birds
I absolutely love this.
We love our new book train. It’s helping to quickly transport materials from the stacks beneath the Stephen A. Schwarzman upstairs to the researchers who need them!
At first I thought this was really cool. Then I watched it with sound. Morning made.
this audio is what i imagine in the background of @copperbadge’s daily life.
It’s true, this is the kind of tune that follows ambiently behind me when I’m Getting Stuff Done. They don’t even remark on it in Target anymore.
[ID: A video of book transport carts rolling around on special tracks, delivering books various places; there is no narration, but a plinky, upbeat jazz piano tune plays throughout.]

Experimenting with a bunch of stuff: soft pastels (love em), white markers, pastels, black brush pen, felt nib black pen.
Tons of fun, very messy. The pastel fixative dulled the soft pastel colours which is a shame, they were so bright orz
