no but like, Yaz being the doctor is narratively important and at the core of the whole era’s philosophy, let alone the main point of the last episode, but lets pretend she did nothing or achieved nothing at all in her time on the show, sure.
#the point is the master is the doctor quite literally and he's still the master#meanwhile yaz is like. Okay so she's out of the game. My Turn.#anyway yaz's main goal has ALWAYS been to help in important ways#she identified 13 as a way to do that#to achieve that goal#and to culminate her arc she Becomes her ideal#meanwhile the entire era is going HardBall on the fact that The Doctor is a choice#they're not who they are because of a shred of code#it's because of their choices#it's why the master stole the doctor's body but Still didn't become the doctor because they are their choices#so in effect. Yaz's arc is fulfilling the wish she had from her first moments on screen. helping people.#doing something Important#she saved the whole damn world!!!!#and she saved the woman she's in love with#and not to mention other assorted people#while the master's reward is the curse of Doctor Frankenstein. A Pointless Hopeless Death.#because the measure of a man to him is its parts#the era triumphs our identify as that of the choices we make in whatever agency we have#yaz's frustration in the begining was her agency was too small#she wanted More#and damn did she get it.#13 was her ticket to this.#and getting offended by That is to be pissed at a whole ton of Other companion journeys as well so can we not#that's kind of how the show works (via @ssaalexblake)
