Lady Feral: I’m inclined to agree. I’ve been hearing about shady practices from them for years. I have one friend that I know of who gets help from them, but he’s the only one out of dozens.
They are openly spending donation money suing any smaller charity that uses the words “wounded warrior” anywhere in their name or marketing. If they could sue the DoD for having wounded warrior battalions, you better believe they already would have.
Jim Amos was aggressively trying to block them from doing any fundraising or even selling merchandise on Marine bases.
They have been garbage since day 1 and it’s a shame they get away with profiting off of American sentimentality for “the troops.”
When I was stuck at the wounded warrior regiment, the combat wounded guys would always talk about how shitty they were. They told me that they wouldn’t really help them unless they would agree to be used in advertising. Like fucking props. You had to be “visibly deformed” if you wanted anything from them, like amputations, shrapnel scars, TBI ticks, etc.
Yeah, my one buddy who actually gets things from them is in photo ops all the time and is an amputee, so that all adds up.
