#important#disability#mental illness#ableism#ohhhh my god#okay time for a#tag rant#when i was diagnosed with cancer a friend of mine went on at length about how she could relate#because of the hard time she went through when she was diagnosed with adhd and depression#and then went on to roll her eyes at my fear that i might have to go through chemo and radiation#(which i did end up needing)#but that initial story#like... bitch you absolutely cannot relate#you know how i know?#because i was diagnosed with adhd and depression as well and it is NOT THE FUCKING SAME#i'm not saying mental health issues are inherently less important or scary than physical ones#but adhd is not life-threatening like cancer is and fuck that chick for implying it was similar#god i was so pissed and apparently still am
