Imagine picking up up a pint of ice cream for $5 and when you get to the register it's $6. This is going to be a nightmare for everyone who works there.

If you catch them raising prices on you in the store, complain. Get a manager. Make a scene. Show them time-stamped photos of prices: "I put a $5 item in my cart and that's how much I intend to pay for it." Do it every day. Give them 1 star reviews.

Consumer backlash is how we stop this. It's the only way. Especially with companies like Walmart that have established themselves as the only option in rural communities. It's not "being a Karen" if you're making legitimate complaints and being exploited.

what type of mask/respirator do u wear (as a general rule/on a daily basis, not counting especially high-risk situations like medical settings/airports/etc)

#cloth masks when I'm just out and about#kn95 at work and airports and the like#cloth masks have multiple layers and fit well because i made them to fit my face#the kn95 is tricky because i have to dick around with the nose wire just right#and staple the chin edge back a little so it stays snug#polls#masks#2024

#capital D dreading going to my work retreat because i don't want to find out which of these assholes is super weird about masking#like bro we work for an organization that has front row seats to the information that covid is in fact Bad#the vaccines make a huge difference for prevention and reducing severity#but the efficacy for full prevention starts to wane at six weeks (!!)#and y'all i get sick going around people at the BEST of times#and when i get sick it knocks me down so fucking hard#and just... ugh. i do not want to have to talk about it all and play like I'm normal and chipper about it#and with how my pain has been today i'm probably bringing my cane with me just in case#it's a couple weeks out yet but if one day of strenuous tasks has me feeling like this then I'm mentally prepping now#tag rant#masks#2024#covid

Literally TODAY. This morning at not quite 3am. I learned that Casanova was a real historical figure rather than a literary hero. Somewhere out there is another relatively learned 30 something year old adult who just found out Marco Polo was a real person. In my mind they balance out the magnitude of my misunderstanding with a similar one.
