Imagine that after their reunion, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian were hugging each other, silently, just enjoying each other's company, when Hua Cheng asked, "Gege, will you marry me?"
Caught off guard, Xie Lian pulled away from the cocoon he had made in Hua Cheng’s chest to look at him. Xie Lian was in a trance, frozen and enchanted, but he couldn’t help but ask, “Is this another one of San Lang’s jokes?”
Hua Cheng lowered his eyes in embarrassment, but soon looked back at Xie Lian, "No, I'm serious," and Xie Lian smiled, returning to his cocoon.
"Yes," Xie Lian said, his voice muffled against Hua Cheng's chest, "of course I do."
Squeezing him into his embrace, Hua Cheng laughed delightedly. “I already have plenty of wedding gifts for you,” he said passionately.
"Hmm? Already? Since when?" Xie Lian asked, relaxed.
Hua Cheng’s body tensed, which caused Xie Lian’s eyes to look up at his face, his brow furrowed in confusion. “…it’s been a while, gege.”
Xie Lian raised his eyebrows. “How long?”
Hua Cheng bit his lip. "...A while?"
Xie Lian laughed. "San Lang, have you been planning to win me over and marry me since before you met me in the bridal sedan?"
Hua Cheng fell silent, looking away.
Xie Lian blinked. “Wait… Really?”
"...Hm," Hua Cheng stammered, still not looking at him.
Xie Lian let out a delighted chuckle and lifted his face to kiss his cheek. “You cunning fox. I’m curious to know what those gifts are,” he lay back down.
Hua Cheng laughed lightly, relieved, and kissed his head.
