I hate what druck is doing….. the whole storyline feels like backwards victim blaming??? the issue is not that mailin isn’t telling the whole school it is her nude picture, like she didn’t make a mistake, this isn’t her fault, and she doesn’t have anything to own up to

the person responsible and the person who is in the wrong who is to blame is the dude who shared her picture!! mailin is just as much a victim here as zoe, this storyline seems to pit mailin against zoe and it feels so icky and misogynistic and subtle - or not so subtle - like victim blaming, as if mailin now had to deal with the consequences of her own actions because “oh well she should have thought about it better and not send the picture in the first place”

keyleth is the most relatable character in tlovm bc all it took was vex resting a hand on her shoulder and calling her darling for her to go “huh…. maybe i’m not quite as heterosexual as i thought” 😂

I LOVE how awkward Mailin is. I’ve been in that exact position too many times, and she makes it both comedic and adorable. Also I love the way the camera follows her gaze in this clip. Like she could barely look at Finn in the eye so the camera pointed down as well. And also Mailin! You and Zoe are both valid as you are and neither of you needs to change to fit a mold.

Not so kind reminder that the only people calling Zoe a "hoe" (and worse) are people who believe themselves to be critical of Mailin's "white feminism".

So true. So far Mailin had nothing against Zoe outside of very understandable jealousy. Not only does she not think badly of Zoe, but it’s actually the other way around! She wants to be more like her and in today’s clip went as far as to call herself boring while mentally comparing herself to Zoe (who she views as Finn’s type). Anything else is basically people projecting their own opinions as if Mailin said them and getting mad at her for the things only they themselves thought. There is nothing wrong with the kind of stories Zoe posts and Druck have never hinted otherwise. Rather it’s Mailin that unlike Zoe is closed off and needs to learn to open up throughout the season. Also, Zoe, Isi and Q have all been uploading these kind of posts the *entire* time!! This isn’t anything new, nor is it anything that is attributed to Zoe alone.

I'm actually kinda excited for Mailin's season, maybe I shouldn't be and for my own sake shouldn't have high hopes because there are I'm probably gonna get disappointed but I can't help it! 😅

Mailin reminds me of myself when I was in high school and I think many teens/young adults. She is passionate about things and she believes she is woke and knows everything and all but I think that she sees things black and white and no other colors in between. I hope we get to see her realizing that. Cause there is no black and white.

Also she is definitely insecure and feels inferior especially next to Zoe. I hope those two (Mailin and Zoe) have a meaningful and beautiful interaction and we get an empowerment moment between them! I know many people think this is gonna be a girls pitting girls theme and Mailin is going to see Zoe as a Threat and a Hoe and stuff like that but as far as I've seen there is not such thing in the clips. At least I haven't perceived it like that! I hope they don't give us this kind of drama, I really do.

Mailin and Finn!?!? Okay, okay that was really out of the blue but I like it! I wanna see what's gonna happen between them. I'm really trying not to invest in this this early😂I also like the fact that maybe Mailin is ace, because we don't get to see many ace characters on TV and they really HAVE TO work good with this!

They have interesting topics to work on I just hope they actually explore them and not just start stupid shallow drama for no reason. For me the season has much potential, like Ismail's had, I just wish they give us something good this time!

This all is my opinion of course, maybe I'm perceiving things wrong, but I guess we're gonna find out very soon.

It's sad to see so many fans being pessimistic on this season but I guess druck has disappointed us a lot, so they have every right to be!

I just hope we get some justice this time and all the characters of course.

While I do think Zoe is being presented as somewhat of a foil to Mailin with her overt sexiness, I don’t really see the show painting it as BAD. Moreover, I feel like Zoe is just kind of enjoying the single life. She was in a steady relationship for almost two years. And even though she and Finn are still obviously good friends, it doesn’t feel like she is grieving the relationship the way she was at the end of Isi’s season (not yet at least). It feels like she’s had time to sort of let it go and is now in the stage of embracing her singleness and just having fun. Mailin feels insecure because if she likes Finn, she’s going to think Zoe is his type, and they’re very different from one another. But I don’t think it’s painting either of them negatively, just different. I think if Mailin and Finn start to become a thing, we might see some jealousy from Zoe, but I’m not sure if she still has feelings for Finn or not. It’s just something you see a lot when a person moves on from a relationship. It can be tough even if you don’t want to be with them anymore. Anyway, we will see.

My literal reaction:

I read a lot of 5 times fanfics and decided I should turn the structure into a very slow burn, angsty YA Romance novel about two girls almost kissing and then being super in denial about it every time it happens while everyone else in their lives is like “Those two. It’s some soulmate shit.”  In my pitch, I called it a book about not knowing what you want (while insisting you do), being there for the people you chose no matter what, and figuring out how to deal with the one person who keeps being witness to the worst moments of your life, but still sees the best in you. 

Also there’s only one bed. 

Oh.My.God. I've been waiting for this my whole life.

Do yourself a favor and go read Far from You by Tess Sharpe. If you want to read a gritty murder mystery YA featuring a disabled, bisexual drug addict as she seeks justice for the murder of the most important person in her life, this is the book for you. It tackles themes of love, loss, addiction, recovery, disability, and more, and I really can't recommend it highly enough.

Best book I ever read, and I read a lot.
