small update on this ring. It’s real now.
I reached out to the original artist of the Bongo Cat and received permission to make this ring based off their art under the promise that they’d receive a portion of the sale. Too many brands steal from artists and I didn’t want to be among them so I voluntarily approached @StrayCarnage on twitter because I felt like this was the right thing to do. Maybe give them a follow, eh?
So! The ring is now available with both paws up. Heres the Etsy Link for your clicking pleasure. It is available in Sterling Silver or White Gold with free shipping if you use the code FREESHIPHOLIDAY.
I had to make some minor adjustments to the design. Mostly the proportions and number of stones.
So the other day, I was thinking about the classic alignment chart, and how it doesn’t really do much for me personally since it’s more about how characters interact with systems rather than how they interact with other people
I had a minute, so I figured I’d throw something together that DID suit my needs!
(Note: This chart regards a character’s intent rather than the outcome of their actions—and for sake of clarity, here are the definitions I’m working with:
Good: concerned with the well-being the collective, often at expense of the self
Evil: concerned with the well-being of the self, often at the expense of the collective
Kind: concerned with the emotional responses of others
Cruel: unconcerned with the emotional responses of others)
I like conceptualizing things this way, cause sometimes Bad People behave with ‘good’ or ‘kind’ intentions, and sometimes Good People do things that seem ‘evil’ or ‘cruel’
Also this gives me a way to compare/contrast characters who get lumped together under the other system
Ohoho. This is gonna change things.
I really like this!!
I’d like to think that modern mages still choose to use grimoires over smartphones and tablets just because technology autocorrects spells.
Mage: Alexa, cast Greater Heal on me. Alexa: Casting fireball on teammate.
Mage: Damn. Okay, Alexa, disable spell checker.
Alexa: Disabling all spells.
how have i never heard of archive.org until today.. it’s an internet library that functions just like a real one, as in you borrow the books for 2 weeks and then they are returned to the archive. you can dl pdfs as well, but you’ll lose access after the 2 week period. it’s all free tho, literally just like a real library. i was searching for a cheap copy of this serial murder book from the 90s for my thesis and i found it for free on here. there’s like.. no gimmick at all? i’m so amazed. i literally just signed up and now i’m reading a super hq scan of this book for free. i love libraries.
I do a lot of this shit. The vinegar and baking soda stuff I’ll have to try.
You can also use craft paper that they sell in big rolls at the hardware store as a weed mat if you don’t have newspaper.
All tricks my pops taught over the years of gardening together.
Let’s not forget my pig’s blood trick…

Do you design a lot of characters living in not-modern eras and you’re tired of combing through google for the perfect outfit references? Well I got good news for you kiddo, this website has you covered! Originally @modmad made a post about it, but her link stopped working and I managed to fix it, so here’s a new post. Basically, this is a costume rental website for plays and stage shows and what not, they have outfits for several different decades from medieval to the 1980s. LOOK AT THIS SELECTION:
OPEN ANY CATEGORY AND OH LORDY–
There’s a lot of really specific stuff in here, I design a lot of 1930s characters for my ask blog and with more chapters on the way for the game it belongs to I’m gonna be designing more, and this website is going to be an invaluable reference. I hope this can be useful to my other fellow artists as well! :)

why have we stopped wearing cloaks and capes. this is ridiculous. the human race is a failure
So this one I can explain!
\puts on reenactor hat\
Simply put, cloaks and capes are, all in all, a massive pain to wear in cold weather. Shocking, I know, but if you think about it, you have this massive amount of heavy fabric that you wrap around you like a blanket. The minute you need to use your hands and arms to, say, pick up something, you have to expose yourself to the cold by opening up your cape/cloak; even capes/cloaks with hand slits only solve the problem with very small items. Coats, by contrast, keep your body and arms warm and allow you to move as you please without having to expose most of yourself to cold. They are also far more fabric-efficient, being substantially less expensive to produce, and they’re a lot easier to put comfortable integral pockets into.
(Side note: for as much of a big deal as we put on women’s clothes having/not having good pockets, I am mystified at why people don’t take this into consideration for outerwear.)
The only case in which a cape or cloak has an advantage over a coat is in rain, and that only includes 100% fulled wool capes/cloaks due to how 100% fulled wool reacts when wet; most moisture rolls right off, but wool can be saturated in its weight in water, even cold water, and still keep you warm. Capes and cloaks made of silk, blends, etc. have zero functional redeeming factors whatsoever, and are only suited to making you look pretty in indoor settings.
You’re completely right, and yet.
you know what? you’re so fucking right.
