New blog post from Jim Ross

Jim Ross has posted a new blog over at JRsBarBQ.com. Below are some highlights:

"The Nashville Raw ran smoothly for Cole and me at the announce table. Our two man chemistry is evolving nicely as I keep @Jerry Lawler's seat warm for his return which I assume will likely be sometime before the end of the year. I haven't heard an exact date as that decision will be left up completely to the medical people. I'm assuming that King will return and take his seat next to Cole and that JBL (@JCLayfield) will continue to work with Josh Mathews on Friday Night Smackdown but that's simply one man's observation.
It seems like more and more each week that @HeelZiggler aka Dolph Ziggler is taking on more of the personality traits of @ShawnMichaels had back in the day. I'm not saying that Ziggler is going to surpass arguably the greatest in ring performer ever but if one had to pick a guy to study and to emulate to a certain degree then Ziggler has picked the right guy. Showoff equates to Showstopper as Dolph and Shawn have similar athletic traits and confident attitude. As Ziggler continues to become more natural on the MIC the comparisons will likely grow.
Ryback vs. CM Punk in the main event inside HIAC in Atlanta is something that I never foresaw coming this quickly but I';m excited to see the bout. I have no preconceived notion of how it will go but my guts say it won't be a scientific masterpiece but will be physical, straightforward and smash mouth.
The Raw broadcast this Monday should tell us even more about this matchup. Certainly Ryback is on a roll, has yet to lose or to ever compete inside Hell in a Cell so this main event has several viable unanswered questions that, as a fan, I like."

After Raw went off the air - The Undertaker appears and more

After Raw went off the air, John Cena came out and introduced a video tribute to Shawn Michaels. Michaels then came out to the ring, followed by Triple H, and CM Punk. Punk thanked Michaels for inspiring him and noted Shawn’s autograph is one he has kept since age 15.

After Punk left, Vince McMahon came out and told Michaels that he felt like a father to him and said, “I love you son,” and they hugged. Hunter then brought out the entire locker room. Out came Undertaker.

Taker told Michaels that if he had to list his Top 5 matches of all-time, Shawn would be directly responsible in some way for three of them. He then thanked Shawn for being a friend, and they hugged.

Shawn Michaels was presented with a commemorative plaque to honor his work for the AT&T Center, as well. The last person who came out was John Laurinaitis, who received an immediate Sweet Chin Music out of the ring. Hunter and McMahon rolled Johnny back into the ring to chants of “One more time,” which Michaels obliged.

Michaels closed by thanking everyone for supporting him, then he, Triple H, and Taker posed for pictures to end the night in a WrestleMania 28 reunion.

Daniel Bryan talks WrestleMania

Daniel Bryan spoke with GQ.com before Tuesday’s live SmackDown in Hampton, Virginia. Here are some highlights:

Q: Monday was a special night. What were you thinking as the night went on and the chants just kept going? Daniel Bryan: I thought the whole thing was unreal, that all these people were getting behind me. Or maybe they weren’t getting behind me. Maybe it’s just fun to chant “Yes!” But it was really cool. I came out and did a post-show [non-televised] dark match, and there was a really special moment where they were behind me 100%.

Q: Do you have any ideas as to why it’s happening right now? Daniel Bryan: Especially last week in Miami, I feel like part of it was a backlash against how short my match at Wrestlemania was. A lot of it is that people like to boo me, but they kind of like me. They don’t want bad things to happen to me, like an 18-second loss at Wrestlemania, especially the hardcore fans, which is mostly who comes for Wrestlemania. People come from all over the world. They travel to Wrestlemania, and a lot of those people know my story, how long it took me to get a Wrestlemania match. And then for my first one to be an 18-second loss, it actually generated a lot of anger.

Q: Do you share that anger? Daniel Bryan: Of course I do. I was World Heavyweight Champion for four months. I wanted to go out there and steal the show. I was trained by Shawn Michaels, and that’s what he’s notorious for. I’ve always had the mindset that my wrestling is as good as or better than anybody out there. I was really looking forward to going out there and showing everybody what I can do on the biggest stage of them all, and then I just wasn’t able to do it.

Q: You’ve known CM Punk for a long time. On the indies, you used to call yourself “Best in the World,” and he’s adapted that as his catchphrase. Did he clear it with you beforehand? Daniel Bryan: No, he didn’t [laughs]. Literally, we haven’t talked about it at all.

Q: You’re not annoyed about it? Daniel Bryan: No, not at all. Chris Jericho had done something similar after I had done it. The only thing that I find really funny is that the “Best in the World” font on the back of his T-shirt is almost identical to the “Best in the World” on the back of my Ring of Honor shirts. It’s just funny.

Bryan also revealed that he got the idea for the “YES!” chants from UFC fighter Diego Sanchez.

Update on The Undertaker

Undertakers left shoulder was in bad shape and he was banged up when the Hell in a Cell match with Triple H was over at WrestleMania 28. However, he came out of Hell in a Cell less injured than he came out of the WrestleMania 27 match.

Regarding Triple H’s status, he will wrestle sparingly from here on out as office work is taking a priority. The belief is that he will still do some matches from time to time.
