*deep breath* I think it’s time to rewatch Julie and the Phantoms (again), she says as she feels her anxiety skyrocket.

I saw someone said “Girl Haunts Boy” on Netflix has a similar vibe to JATP and tbh that’s a turn off to me because I will just get mad that they made this movie/show instead of finishing JATP 😭

was watching High Potential and there is an executive producer named Alex Mercer and when I tell y’all my jaw DROPPED—

She glances at the sleeveless boy—Luke, she guesses, only to find he’s already looking at her. His face turns a light shade of pink once he realizes he’s been caught, but then his eyes flick to the boy in front of him.

“It’s okay. Just please, keep it down. Or maybe play at a normal time?” Julie considers throwing in that she’s trying to protect them from Flynn’s wrath, but decides against it.

“Of course,” he agrees. “We—”

He’s cut off by loud buzzing coming from inside the apartment behind him. The three of them immediately cover their ears, with Luke quickly turning around to reveal a third boy with a bass guitar strapped to his shoulders and frantically pulling different cords from the amp next to him.

“I’m not doing it! I can’t get it to stop!” Reggie shouts.

The blonde boy hurries over and rips the power cord out of the wall, effectively silencing the amp.

As Julie brings her eyes back to Luke, she realizes there’s a 4th person present. An older man stands next to the amp. He looks like a roadie Julie’s mom used to have to help her out at her shows. “Wait, can you see me?”

She tries to avert her gaze, but it’s too late. “You can see me!” the ghost exclaims.

A Juke Fic I’ll Never Write

aged up!Julie writing? covering? Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me by Taylor Swift out of pure feminine rage at her treatment not only by people in the industry but also her manager and head of her record label aka Caleb Covington who instead of working to protect her & build her up threatens to ruin her career? somehow?? if she lashes out against the media who spread lies and rumors about her for clickbait.

Flynn sends her on a retreat to get some space and clear her head away from the eyes of the press and it’s while she’s there she meets Luke and the boys. Alex recognizes Julie right away, but it’s not until Luke hears her playing Wake Up and the boys are all like 😮 but when Julie stops she hears them somehow and they shove Luke forward and naturally he hypes her up, they end up writing together, he helps her finish WAoLOM which leads to a lot of vulnerability from Julie, maybe Luke shares about his mom to even the playing field & the first time they play it with Reggie and Alex, Julie is breathing heavily and Luke’s kind of in awe of the powerhouse of a woman in front of him but he knows now is not the time to make a move—he just knows the world needs to hear this song exactly the way Julie wrote it.

the boys and Flynn figure out a way to get Julie out from her contract with Caleb, Luke and the boys beg her to join forces & Luke says something like “we need a badass front woman who can hold her own. we know you don’t need us but we need you” and then eventually they admit their feelings for each other somehow because of course they fall in love because they’re
