Flynn sends her on a retreat to get some space and clear her head away from the eyes of the press and it’s while she’s there she meets Luke and the boys. Alex recognizes Julie right away, but it’s not until Luke hears her playing Wake Up and the boys are all like 😮 but when Julie stops she hears them somehow and they shove Luke forward and naturally he hypes her up, they end up writing together, he helps her finish WAoLOM which leads to a lot of vulnerability from Julie, maybe Luke shares about his mom to even the playing field & the first time they play it with Reggie and Alex, Julie is breathing heavily and Luke’s kind of in awe of the powerhouse of a woman in front of him but he knows now is not the time to make a move—he just knows the world needs to hear this song exactly the way Julie wrote it.
the boys and Flynn figure out a way to get Julie out from her contract with Caleb, Luke and the boys beg her to join forces & Luke says something like “we need a badass front woman who can hold her own. we know you don’t need us but we need you” and then eventually they admit their feelings for each other somehow because of course they fall in love because they’re
