Ah yes, because (((they))) are coming for you 🙄

copied from one of the replies:

This comparison is deeply, offensively ahistorical and incredibly harmful, both in understanding the Holocaust and the I/P conflict. The motivations, the actions those motivations inspire, and the effects of those actions are all deeply different. And if you are mobilizing people around the idea that they aren’t, you are spreading misinformation that actively impedes the ability for us to create a path towards solutions that lead to peace and the safety of everyone involved.
The Nazis aimed for endless expansion (Hitler was very explicit about the fact that he did not just want to return to the historical borders of the German Empire) & total extermination of Jews, and as such rounded up all Jews & dissidents in any territory they occupied & placed them in industrialized labor and extermination camps, and took over most of Europe and much of the Middle East. Whereas the worst of the worst in Israel are irredentist & revanchist—they want a specific piece of land historically occupied by Jews & they want collective revenge on Arabs & Muslims.
This is racist, reactionary, and violent, but it is not Nazism. Israel isn’t rounding up every Palestinian & dissident they can get their hands on in any territory they occupy. The nearly 2 million Palestinians in Israel are still Israeli citizens with full legal rights. An entire tenth of Israel has been openly attending protests of Netanyahu’s, and haven’t ended up in camps. They’re not an ever-expanding Empire with no end in sight; they’re a tiny country the size of New Jersey, surrounded by multiple factions that have made no secret that their goal is to wipe Israel off the map and chase Jews to the ends of the earth to kill them.
Netanyahu & Likud’s disregard for human life in pursuit of preventing Palestinian statehood & destroying IRI proxy groups like Hamas and Hezbollah (whose existence are existential threats to Israel & Jews living in the region) is more than “regrettable”. It’s unacceptable. But there is no “when they come for you”. And hyperbolic Holocaust Inversion like this, shouting about how the Jews in a little tiny country in the Middle East is like the Jew-killing Empire bent on World Domination, and how it’s “coming for you” wherever you live makes you sound like Alex Jones.
You can easily criticize the Israeli government’s action without rhetoric that amounts to Holocaust Revision/Distortion and weaponizes the memory of the industrialized mass-slaughter of millions of Jews against people still living with its impact—people whose motivation in this war (however brutal & blinded by hate) is heavily informed by a desire to ensure it will not happen to them again.

Also I need to remind everyone that the poem in its original form is also really shitty, insulting, and ahistorical.

The Nazi did not come first for the Socialist and the Communists and then trade unionists and so one until finally they came for the Jews as the poem puts it.

No they started first with Jews and the Roma.

Jews have a long history of being politically left so because the Nazis came for the Jews this meant that any Jews who were Socialists, Communists, members of trade unions, and even anarchists all taken.

The Nazis also came for the disabled and mentally ill.

The purpose of all that they did and their number one target in everything that they did were Jews and the Roma.

That is why our children were in Concentration Camps, that is why our people including children were horrifically experimented, and that is why there men, women, and children from our peoples that were forced into sexual slavery.

Not the Catholics, the trade unionists, the socialists, the communist, and whoever else gets listed on that fakakta poem, no it was Jews and the Roma.

There is a reason why our people have intergenerational trauma from the Holocaust and why each have specific days to remember our victims.

The damage that was done we carry the scars still.

So that poem I hate it with such passion and I need people to understand that what Niemoller wrote is such an insult, it is slap in the face.

when put like that it's almost like the original was meant to appeal to the tankies

I’m slowly realising that almost nobody thinks that antisemitism is a real problem. They only think nazis are a problem (if that even), because they were conditioned to hate them.

But they don’t consider their own antisemitism to be antisemitism - they just consider it to be common sense, or justified political activism!

Whoomp there it is.

I’m about to address something difficult, so please bear with me.

The Guardian posted an article today - now removed - regarding a documentary of the events of the massacre on October 7th. The review spent time wringing its hands over the portrayal of the terrorists as…terrorists.

This is something we’ve been dealing with for a year and I feel like everyone has been reticent to discuss it, but here goes: most Palestinians are not terrorists. Gazans are not synonymous with Hamas. That should be clear - and the people praising Hamas and equating all of the people with Hamas are actually the ones being damaging and racist.

With this in mind, there are two massive aspects of this that we need to be able to discuss if ANY progress is to be made or any understanding is to be had. The first is the violent Jew hatred that is used to indoctrinate and incite children, in what should unequivocally, by every humanitarian group in the world, be deemed child abuse. for instance, UNRWA textbooks using examples of killing Jews as math problems is well documented and extremely disturbing. if we are never allowed to talk about the fact that this happens and how utterly destructive it is, then the problem is perpetrated indefinitely.

children should not be taught this, exposed to this. but there is way too much within this to unpack here.

the second point is in regards to the massacre itself. thousands of Hamas members (and other terrorist groups) broke into Israel that day to commit atrocities, but there were civilians who followed them - including people who brought children along (again, horrific child abuse). this is all on the CCTV footage, and captured in emergency calls from that day. just as the streets were flooded with people in Gaza when the hostages and bodies were brought in, who were celebrating and beating them and spitting on them. This DOES NOT MEAN we’re talking about everyone in Gaza, of course we’re not. those thousands of people remain a small portion of the population. yet to deny this happened - and to deny that some hostages were held in homes and civilian areas intentionally - is part of the inability to grant agency to the people who did participate in this. it is, in fact, another form of racism, of the idea of low expectations or noble savagery, that they either have no choice or can’t do better than extremist violence, or that they wouldn’t do that and the victims who witnessed it and suffered firsthand are somehow liars.

it is not “demonizing” the perpetrators to call them perpetrators, it would only be so if it was directing that at the entire people, which it is not. the terrorists and those who followed them made an active choice that day: to brutalize, rape, murder, and pillage across the kibbutzim and a music festival. saying this plainly is not a way to justify war or dehumanize or whatever else, it’s simply the truth of what happened. I don’t believe there is anywhere else on earth where a massacre of this magnitude, with these types of atrocities, would be discussed like this. if one commits acts of terrible violence, if one loots and kills innocent people in their homes, typically there is no ambiguity in speaking about that.

this post has footage from the pogrom, so approach it with caution:

this is from a different forthcoming documentary, but we’ve heard these stories, particularly from the children, since last year. denying them is a secondary trauma. again, because apparently this needs to be made clear, IT IS NOT ALL THE PEOPLE, but there is inherent antisemitism and radicalization that has been perpetuated for generations, even by official governing bodies, that must be confronted or there will never be progress.

everyone who is screencapped or linked here wants peace, none of them want civilians to die, none of them want constant warfare and conflict, none of them wants to see suffering. they all pray for coexistence and a better future for all. this is true for every Jew and/or Israeli I follow. most of them wholly disagree with the actions of the right wing government. yet they’re vilified as monstrous when they speak about the atrocities and grief of a pogrom.

the inability to have a dialogue is making this worse. the media pulling stuff like what The Guardian has done this week (and countless other complicit Western outlets) is making this worse. the fact that only Jews tend to be willing to mourn the victims, listen to the hostage testimony, and hear and hold space for one another is making this worse, continually isolating and traumatizing us, and heightening the intractability of these issues. it is gaslighting, it is structural, and it is also predicated on the ancient foundation of Jew hatred - that violence against us can be upheld or reframed as necessary. that our grief should be contextualized, because it’s not universally human, it’s Jewish, and therefore other.

Adam Kirsch wrote: “Young people today who celebrate the massacre of Israelis and harass their peers on college campuses are not shamed of themselves for the same reason that earlier generations were not ashamed to persecute and kill Jews: because they have been taught that it is an expression of virtue.”

like I can’t…I don’t even know how to express how exhausting and frustrating and heartbreaking this is. we’re still having to fight to even say that the massacre was wrong and extraordinarily brutal and that it caused us collective pain. we’re still not allowed to grieve. and it seems like the world is content with that being our fate forever, condemned to separateness and “context” and regarding us with suspicion (at best). this has to change, but I don’t know how it will.

What irks me so so much about the Pro Palestine movement and how it took place on my college campus was just how it... fizzled out.

In fall 2024, we've entered the new school year, and knock-on-wood, harassing Jews is not the go-to activism now.

Which I am elated about- we no longer have to hide the locations of events so stringently or keep our heads down in classes, fearing someone will catch us and know. And demand for us to answer for our supposed crimes.

But what stands out to me is that this activism only came from a place of anger they wanted to let out like a rabid animal. Teenagers and twenty-somethings wearing keffiyehs they bought from Amazon screamed about the evils of Zionism. They rattled their signs and beat their drums. They vandalized and attacked. There was nothing held back.

And you know what I never saw? I never saw a bake sale, or any sort of fundraising for Gazans. I never saw food drives for local refugees. There was nothing tangible. There was only a vehement rage for a cause they didn't seem to really care about.

Because they didn't care about the people suffering and dying- they just wanted an excuse to be angry at someone and that "someone" was Jews.

But they got their encampments with machine gun doodles and "glory to the resistance" on their posters. They got their yelling out and their pretty pictures they'll save for their children one day- "Look, Mommy was an activist!"

But you know what sustained me, just a bit? I tried to believe that my peers were in the end well intentioned. That they didn't mean to hurt us. That this was all an awful trick being played and that their goal at the end of the day was a more equal world and end to tangible suffering.

But now- their keffiyehs are abandoned and only taken out for a little progressive fashion statement, paired with pink go-go boots. They are so painfully apathetic, it hurts me.

And I think- I really think- the next time they'll pick up their picket signs again is when Jews get hurt, either in Israel or the diaspora. And they'll line up once more to cheer for it.

I think when goyim hear jews say, "you would not have hid jews during the holocaust," and only hear 'nah nah, you're a fake good person.' They think it's purely a dig or insult and nothing else.

We are super depressed and anxious that you wouldn't stand up to nazis as well you know. It's not my favorite thing to know that .08% of people who had the chance to save jews, did. In fact it's really fucked up that 99.02% of people are happy to help kill us or look the other way. I'm indignant and in disbelief about that shit as much as goyim are.

Can goyim take it as a challenge instead of a slight please? Can you stand up to online antisemitism right now, This very year and minute? It is significantly easier than keeping a whole ass human being in your closet or attic for a year. I consider pointing out antisemitism online the full test for a cool ass good person who's an ally to jews. you stand up once and you are officially an ally. you stand up twice and, damn, color me impressed. you stand up in real life? clean or cross out graffiti that helps no one and makes jews know they aren't welcomed? What a mensch! You are officially invited to shabbat dinner and go down as a personal hero to me. Brave! Beautiful! An Angel! Did you see that? What a move! They aren't even jewish, they just care about people not being discriminated against!

I WANT YOU TO HAVE BEEN THE TYPE TO HIDE JEWS FROM NAZIS, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! We share a dream, let's make it happen together.

Yeah it's hilarious that Israel committed a terrorist attack against civilians and at least one literal CHILD died.

What is wrong with you.

Avatar

Again it was blatantly not against civilians and was purposely made to only harm members of a recognized terrorist group. Hezbolla themselves stated that those pagers were only given to hezbolla members. It is very much a tragedy that a child died but I still find members of hezbolla having their penis exploded funny in the same way I would find a member of the kkk having their penis exploded funny.

Avatar

Got to love how they pretend to give a shit about children, (or any innocent civilians for that matter), but celebrate October 7th, don't give a singular fuck about all of the children terrorist groups like Hezbollah have harmed directly, and indirectly, including their own. You know like that child the ask mentioned - that particular shit heel Hezbollah member had his young daughter retrieve his pager for him despite the messages received earlier that warned members to go to a private location, away from civilians, and to not let others ie non members handle their pagers which were made to look as if they originated from their higher ups. Except some of these despicable idiots didn't obey including that person. He had his own child bring him his pager. If you want to blame someone, dear asker, perhaps blame the terrorists who happily use civilians as human shields, and see the people around them as cannon fodder - for propaganda, human shields, and recruits.

3 civilians died. Which, asker, you would know if you weren't maliciously ignorant, uneducated, and so blinded by your own prejudice that you neither can be bothered to,nor ever willing to consider sources that don't confirm your biases.

Remember when they pretended to give a damn about Syria for a hot minute when it was still vaguely fashionable? Who wants to tell them that their beloved terrorists kill plenty of the "good brown children" they pretend to care about? That these terror groups keep a brutal strangle hold of the lands their white guilt-white savior-noble savage complexes claim to care about?

Hezbollah commits daily atrocities on civilians including children. They abuse their own.

The fucking audacity of you people to pretend to care about the welfare of civilians especially children is laughable.

You and your lot are vile bigots who never understand nor care for anything but your moronic, hypocritical, intellectually dishonest prejudice based belief system. And no history will not look kindly on you.

These terrorist blorbos of yours would slaughter you without a second thought, and you hail them heroes.

Fuck off with your hypocrisy,asker.

IT WAS A FOCUSED AND TACTICAL ATTACK ON TERRORISTS ONLY!!! ONLY TERRORISTS HAD THE PAGERS. ONE LITTLE GIRL DIED BECAUSE OF BAD PARENTING A CHILD SHOULDNT BE HOLDING YOUR BEEPER YOU USE FOR TERRORISM.

Civilians were mostly unharmed. But propaganda is better than facts, right?

Maybe don't be a terrorist involved in a war and you won't get hurt.

How many times do we have to say it?

Oh right, you're just antisemetic and want an excuse to bash Israel and the Jews.

Also

Israel is a country

Avatar

Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb here and make what is apparently a radical ethical statement.

If someone's response to hearing of the October 7th mass murder of Israelis was to celebrate or applaud or otherwise express joy, they're an antisemite. Period.

If someone's response to 10,000 dead Gazans was to celebrate or applaud or otherwise express joy, they're an Islamaphobe. Period.

In general, if you hear about thousands of people dying for being in the wrong place at the wrong time or being born to the 'wrong' group, and your reaction is "HUZZAH!", you are a horrible person.

I need to talk about these tags. and this is not about any specific person, this is a really widespread view. which is why i'm talking about it.

I did not know any of the following info before Oct 7th. Like, just to be clear, this was news to me too.

Hamas's attack, Hamas's history, Israeli history, Palestinian history, and Jewish history, became a sort of bulk combo special interest for me really quickly.

The short version is: Hamas is not Palestinians retaliating.

Hamas was created, almost 40 years ago, specifically to violently destroy Israel and take the land. Not because oppression. Because Jews are Bad.

After years of terrorism (mainly a LOT of suicide bombings in Israel), Hamas put a bunch of people up for political offices in what ended up being the last Palestinian election, ran a VERY smart campaign, and took over Parliament.

Two years later, in 2008, it staged a violent coup and kicked the Palestinian government out of Gaza by force.

Hamas has run Gaza as a dictatorship ever since.

No one in Gaza is allowed to speak out against them. Journalists have been imprisoned for mentioning criticism or protests against Hamas. People have been imprisoned for speaking against Hamas online.

This is a vivid description - by Hamza Howidy, an activist who used to organize "We Want To Live" protests against Hamas, who fled Gaza last August - of what life was like there.

There are many, many Palestinians who work directly with Israelis toward peace, against oppression, toward two free countries side by side. Like these folks, who Hamas imprisoned for it.

Or like Bassam Eid, who quit working with B'Tzelem (a Palestinian human rights org in Israel) because he was frustrated that they weren't paying enough attention to how Palestine treats Palestinians.

He founded the Palestine Human Rights Monitoring Group. I think it's now defunct, but his current writing can be found here:

The other reason that what Hamas did was not Understandable Violence In Response To Oppression, as its leaders like to characterize it, is... well. Graphic.

As in, what it did on Oct 7th -- what it planned for two years to do, what it did in just one day, across 22 towns and a music festival -- is nightmare-fodder, literally nauseating levels of graphic.

If anyone wants to just accept that at face value and not read on, I won't mind.

Anyone who thinks Hamas and its attack might be justified, however, should just fucking read on.

An addition... And one correction to @autismserenity it was the last election in Gaza, the Palestinian Authority still hold regular elections.

-

One thing people should keep in mind is that there is no monolithic entity called Palestine.

Prior to the formation of the state of Israel there was the British Mandate for Palestine, which is the name of a British Administrative District. Before the British it was broken up into multiple districts under Ottoman rule and colloquially referred to collectively as Filistin.

Up until recently the areas of the West Bank and Gaza were occupied by Egypt and Jordan, until during the 6 Day War they were Captured by Israel along with the Sinai Peninsula. Israel offered to Return the Sinai and Administration of Gaza to Egypt, and Egypt refused Administration of Gaza but accepted return of the Sinai. Israel Offered to return Administration of the West Bank to the Kingdom of Jordan but this was refused. This left Gaza and the West Bank under the status quo of Israeli military administration.

Since then the creation of the Palestinian Authority with it's official armed wing the Palestinian National Security Services, and the PA sitting as an observer to the UN.... is the closest we have come to establishing an independent state for Palestinians ever in History.

The Palestinian Territories are those Administered by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, and Gaza formerly administered by the PA and now administered by Hamas (since the 2007 Hamas PA War) who are a part of Iran's foreign Proxy Network and a radical excommunicate offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.

But there is no distinct entity called Palestine, "Palestine" is a term that you need to specify your meaning.

-

Also, this is the flag of the Palestinian Authority, and the Flag that represents the Palestinian National Security Services.

-

This is the flag of Hamas, who despite attempts by the Palestinian Authority at political normalisation are not affiliated with the PA.

Repeating this extremely important fact:

Up until recently the areas of the West Bank and Gaza were occupied by Egypt and Jordan, until during the 6 Day War they were Captured by Israel along with the Sinai Peninsula. Israel offered to Return the Sinai and Administration of Gaza to Egypt, and Egypt refused Administration of Gaza but accepted return of the Sinai. Israel Offered to return Administration of the West Bank to the Kingdom of Jordan but this was refused. This left Gaza and the West Bank under the status quo of Israeli military administration.

If you're all so "indigenous," then why don't you all just go back to your homeland and stop subverting the rest of the world. If you did that, we really wouldn't care so much about the ongoing genocide.

Honestly I’m very confused. Many of us DID go back to israel, and you get mad at us for that. Now that we don’t, you get mad at us. If we went, you would still care about the “genocide” because we’re white colonizers now. You just hate Jews.

Avatar

"In the end they told us to go back where we came from, so that's what we did."

I'd love to ask the anon: where EXACTLY do you think the Jews came from if not Israel? Please, where is the Jewish homeland if not the Levant???

"From the river to the sea", where do the Jews go?

Maybe they go back to where they came from?

Oh right!

Let's go back to Algeria

Where they cleansed us like bacteria

We still got 4 Jews in Syria

We should start checking Expedia

I hear 1% of the community, still managed to stay in Tunisia

And if we're really feeling introverted?

There's 0 Jews left in Libya

I mean maybe like

Maybe the canceled their anti-jewish laws?

Maybe they're down for the cause?!

Maybe to Egypt? They got 3 Jews, give 'em a round of applause

Maybe back to Sudan? Where there's no evidence of Jews alive

Or Iraq, where there where 140,000 once, and now there's 5

Wait, they probably left out of their own will, it was their choice

And probably not because somebody flipped and then drove em out, like a Rolls Royce

They squeezed them a little, but in the right places, like tights

Where they couldn't work? Or go to school? Or own property? And had no rights?

There were 55,000 in Yemen! Now there's 10, maybe they'll want us back?

In Uzbekistan, they're at 5%, cause they ran us out like a running back

And Lebanon became Lebanon after most of them chose to flee

From 20,000 to 30, and they can't even practice publically

The Jews in Iran left the driver door open and skirt'd that shit like a murcielago

So did the ones in Bahrain, Afghanistan, 99.2% of Morocco

What about Krakow? In general Europe seems pretty tight?

Last time we were in Europe they killed 6 million of us?

Right..

And that's what ethnic cleansing looks like And we're not out here making a scene

And Meanwhile in Israel the Muslim population multiplied by 15

But the Gazans couldn't have 5x under "genocide" or else god forbid

In the end they told us to go back to where we came from, so that's what we did

“stop subverting the rest of the world” makes me think of this comment I saw yesterday. it was a reply to a woman saying there are only 16 million Jews in the world.

“+ USA + Europe not even enough for you” is this dude believing that Jews actually secretly control the US and Europe and are thus trying to take over everywhere. in reality, this is nonsense, and very old antisemitic rhetoric. to him, it’s an obvious truth about Jews’ unfair omnipotence. that’s how conspiracies work.

“stop subverting the rest of the world” is verbatim “Jews will not replace us,” just dressed up in leftist language.

Idan made it catchy, but listen to what he’s recounting, and remember there are centuries’ worth of that history. it doesn’t matter where we are, where we go, it’s a matter of existing at all that becomes the problem.

I’m really frustrated with how this is becoming an omni-issue; I can’t go to my feminist bookclub because this month’s book is about Women’s Rights in Palestine — I read the first chapter and it completely disregards the imperialism that drove Jews into diaspora in the first place. I can’t go to my queer bookclub because this month’s book is about Queer Rights in Palestine, and it’s full of Holocaust inversion. My town doesn’t have enough Jews for a minyan, or enough Muslims for a Mosque, or any ties to Israel, but it had dozens of people show up to a protest for Palestine outside city hall. I think it would frustrate me less if there were some sort of actionable goal to it all, but it’s pure stupidity to think that the city hall of our rural Canadian town could negotiate a ceasefire; they’re choosing to be angry for the sake of righteous anger, instead of actually doing anything useful. These people didn’t care about women’s rights on October 7th, they don’t know the first thing about Jewish history, they don’t care at all about the hostages, and it’s really alienated me from progressive spaces; my values haven’t changed, but my friends aren’t who I thought they were, and I wish every day that I had a Jewish community to belong to.

This was created by an Israeli artist & activist whose family fled persecution in Tunisia & Iraq. Please ditch the "Israelis are all white colonizers, and Israel is Bad for everyone who isn't religious and white" nonsense.

wow that's so cool I bet there isn't any really famous violent and eugenicist Israeli state policy that targeted Ethiopian Jews specifically. I won't do any research on this!

me when I know what sarcasm is

I honestly can't make fun of the rest of this post they basically defend the racist forced sterilizations of refugees by going "well it's still better than what they were fleeing" actually evil

and if you're saying "omg og OP won't do research" chances are they have ^_^ and you're just self projecting at this point.

me when your fave knows how to read so it makes them actually evil

OH AND BY THE WAY, SWEETIE!

The narrative from many so-called American progressives is that Israel is a racist state. Many Israel-haters have jumped on this accusation of forced sterilization as proof of Israel’s racism. But what is the truth?

What Really Happened

From 1977 to 1991 Israel rescued thousands of black Ethiopian Jews and resettled them in Israel; more immigrated to Israel in the 2000s. Israel granted them citizenship and took steps to integrate them into Israeli society. Today the population of Ethiopian Jews in Israel is 135,000-strong, with many of them born in Israel. In the late 2000s, reports appeared in the Israeli media that claimed that injections of Depo-Provera, a long-acting contraceptive, had been forced on hundreds of female Ethiopian immigrants. The contraceptive effects of Depo-Provera last only for about three months. A small number of Ethiopian women received the Depo-Provera injections every three months for a while. An Israeli TV reporter asked a group of women who had received these injections if they were able to conceive after stopping the drug. All said they were.Israel-haters who say that Israel tricked black Ethiopian women into being sterilized are wildly wrong. At worst, these women received temporary birth control medication.

But were they appropriately informed about the nature of the injections they received?

Some of the Ethiopian women received these injections in transit camps in Ethiopia as they awaited transport to Israel. Many of the injections were administered by non-Israelis. Others received the injections in medical clinics after they arrived in Israel.

A small group of these Ethiopian women reported they had been tricked or coerced into accepting these injections. In 2016, Israel’s State Controller conducted an investigation into the matter. The investigation concluded that the women had not been coerced into taking the injections. But doubts remained. Critics of the investigation pointed out that the State Controller had not heard testimony from the alleged victims, and that questions remained about the role of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the organization that had cared for these women in the Ethiopian transit camps.

Years after this incident we know that no Israeli government agency or private clinic sterilized patients against their will. For the Ethiopian women who received temporary birth control injections in Israeli clinics, it is hard to judge whether there was an element of coercion. The women who received the injections were uneducated and did not speak Hebrew—-so it is not surprising that miscommunication occurred in some cases. In the transit camps some women may have felt obliged to please their caregivers in order to smooth their journey through the immigration process. Once in Israel, medical personnel may have administered the shots based on the medical records from the transit camp.

What We Know

It is possible that some clinic personnel applied inappropriate pressure on the Ethiopian women or failed to take the time to inform them adequately about Depo-Provera. If so, this is a case of poor medical care, not a racist plan to sterilize black women.

The charge of involuntary sterilization makes no sense. If Israel wanted to limit the Jewish Ethiopian population why did they spend millions of dollars to bring tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel in the first place? And why did they then provide the new immigrants with housing, free health care, and schooling for their children? And if Israel’s aim was population control, why did they extend the state’s generous child welfare allowances to these Ethiopian immigrants, a practice that encourages large families? The final proof of the absurdity of the forced sterilization charge is that, since their immigration, the Ethiopian population of Israel has grown in leaps and bounds.

Israel’s operations to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel had its intended success.

The irony in all this is that, while Israel has never practiced involuntary sterilization, many other countries have. The examples below are just a small sampling.1

A Disingenuous Magnifying Glass

There are many Israel-haters in the world today. These haters take a magnifying glass to Israel. They ferret out every hint of human rights abuse, they distort and exaggerate the evidence, ignore context essential to understanding Israel’s actions, and engage in out-and-out lies. At the same time, these Israel-haters turn a blind eye to the many countries in the world that are true human rights abusers.

False accusations of compulsory sterilization by Israeli clinics is but one manifestation of this phenomenon.

Israel is like the younger child who behaves well but is perpetually blamed by his parents for the misdeeds of his older brothers. Eventually Mom and Dad figure out what is going on.

Hopefully the human rights community and the wider world will figure out the true story about Israel and the slanders against it.

At the end of 2018, the population of Ethiopian origin in Israel was 151,800 residents. Approximately 86,900 were born in Ethiopia, and 64,900 were Israeli-born with fathers born in Ethiopia.

"if there's a bad policy towards ethiopians in Israel, like we have fought for progress on others policies in the past - would be happy for us to take it on as well to change it for the better" is LITERALLY in the tags. You must have been fun at libraries

Oh, and hey Hamasniks, you fucking RACISTS, instead of talking over Ethiopian Jews, why don't you listen listen to what Ethiopian Jews have to say. But we know you won't because you Leftists are racist, Orientalist bigots.

Oh and also you morons, it is COMMON PRACTICE in refugee camps to give women contraceptive measures. This is well established. So the whole thing about "Jews sterilizing Ethiopian women" is pure Jew-hate and anti-Israel conspiracy theory bullshit. The fact that you don't know that just shows how little you know about history.

If I see one more anti Zionist here try this bullshit. -stop patronising Jews of Color and believe them when they tell you what their reality is like.

They won't listen to Jews of Color, because that would mean actually acknowledging that they've been a bunch of racist, privileged asshats who've been talking over minorities and not actually doing a damn thing to help the people they supposedly champion.
