Greetings, and welcome to my tumblr blog.

You may call me Egg or Bao. Some basic things to know about me are that I am adopted and Chinese, I was born in China and although I was raised in the states, I do not feel any ties to the USA, and I do not consider the USA my "home." I attempted to learn mandarin on my own through an app because I wanted to feel closer to my culture. However, due to being very busy, I don't always remember to practice. I am also nonbinary, pronouns they/them/theirs. My partner is Jewish and Cherokee and I love her very much. She is more active on here than I am.

I do have a degree, in which I also double minored in anthropology and communication. I spend most of my free-time playing video games and, when I have energy, I engage in the Big Art™. But I seldom post anymore because of all the AI bullshit happening.

Furthermore, this blog is, as with most others, for my own enjoyment and education/exposure etc. and if you attempt to purposefully disrupt the peace, I'm just gonna block you because I don't have time to deal with people who can't respect that.

Some rapid facts about me:

  • I love Bloodhound from Apex Legends and have been playing Apex since it came out, since pre-season
  • I love randomly watching tech videos because I like learning about it even if it isn't always directly applicable to my life at that moment
  • I love Riverdance, very formative part of my childhood, and I saw them in person last year and it was so fucking EPIC!!!!
  • I have developed a hyperfixation on DBD and am a Nicolas Cage main so there's that
  • I like learning, and due to recent world events, I have learned more about Jewish culture and traditions, much credit to my partner who has been willing to have many endless discussions with me.

0 Tolerance Policy for:

  • Racism
  • Homophobia/Transphobia etc
  • Antisemetic bullshit! I'll even provide you some screenshots of a non-exhaustive list by another Tumblr user to help you because I'm nice, see blow images: (OP is user imnotwhiteimjewish)
  • Not respecting my peace (I don't mind blocking people lmao)

My own thoughts/rants/vents etc random shit will be under #bao thoughts ♡

If you have any questions send an ask.

Alright, see ya later if you stick around ♡

Goyim love to say things like, “How did people let the Holocaust happen?” And there are a lot of possible answers to that question. Some believe that the average citizen of the Nazi Empire simply didn’t know about the camps. Others say that the average citizen opposed the regime, but they were deterred by their government or the fear of being killed. And some believe that it was some kind of perfect storm or one-time-glitch, that those people from that place just happened to be uniquely predisposed to evil, and that it can never happen again.

This is almost always accompanied by some variation on the phrase, “If I had been there, I wouldn’t have.”

Not even a hundred years later, Jews across the world are being targeted for destruction by both White Supremacists and Jihadist Islamists. Both weaponize the same ideologies and tactics that the Nazis used, and both happily embrace the Nazi legacy. Both are emboldened, not disgusted, by the nearly unprecedented increase in antisemitic hate crimes. They are openly calling for our death in our streets and our subways and our political offices.

And yes, in some countries, they are met with opposition by the average citizen. In some countries, decent and caring and inclusive people stand up for us. And in some countries, they win. But not all the time. When they lose, you have to reconcile with the truth:

The Holocaust didn’t happen because the average person in Eastern Europe failed to stop the Nazis. The Holocaust happened because the average person in Eastern Europe was a Nazi. And if the average person is a Nazi in any other nation, at any other time, it will happen again.

And let’s be clear here about what exactly the US Presidential election results mean. Because as of current writing, this was not a spoiled election. There is no swing state that Harris would have won even if she had gotten all of Jill Stein’s votes. And this wasn’t a close race. Donald Trump is on track to win every swing state. This wasn’t even an Electoral College issue. Donald Trump won the popular vote.

As of writing, under 65% of eligible voters turned out for this election. And 51% of those voters chose the white supremacist felon who praises Hitler and said he’d be a dictator on day one. Which means that about seventy percent of the population of the United States either voted for a fascist, or is comfortable being complacent with fascism.

The average person in the United States is a fascist.

American trans pals, life is going to get hard. We know that. I could write a long post about strategies for coming years, but I feel like that will only create decision paralysis here on Day 1.

So, some little things to do today and tomorrow towards becoming a more resilient person:

  • Refill your meds / schedule your next bloodwork appt or other healthcare visits you need - prioritize your health. If you can only do 1 thing today, do this, because it's the end of the year and you might not get on the books for a while.
  • Cancel a subscription you don't need, or that free trial that is about to expire - small steps to saving money
  • Pick up a passport form at the post office. If you don't need it, get one for a friend who does
  • Get a notebook and/or folder for printouts. You will use it soon for collecting hard copies of future healthcare options outside your home state, while the information can still be found online
  • Get a box or bin. You will want to start collecting items around your home to sell/donate/trash in the interests of downsizing. But just get a box or two today.
  • Talk to a friend
  • Get some rest

I can't promise we'll be ok, but we can try to set ourselves up so we bend instead of breaking in this storm.

Everything feels awful right now but it isn't really. We still don't officially have a winner, but regardless of how the presidential election ends up, I wanted to take a minute and find what lights I can in the 3 a.m. darkness. Here's what I know:

* Kentucky overwhelmingly rejected an attempt to undermine the public education system by offering private school vouchers:

* Delaware has elected a transgender woman to the House of Representatives, the first out trans person of any gender ever elected to congress:

* For the first time in history, two Black women will be serving in the senate at the same time, and they are only the fourth and fifth Black women ever elected to the senate:

* New York State has passed a constitutional amendment enshrining the rights of pregnant people (including the right to an abortion), LGBTQIA+ people, the disabled, immigrants regardless of legal status, and other at-risk groups:

* Democrat Josh Stein has beaten self-avowed Nazi Mark Robinson to become governor of North Carolina:

That's everything I know off the top of my head. It's not many bright spots, but it's not zero. I'm going to try to find more and I'll add them to the post. It's the only thing I can think of to do that isn't sobbing and throwing up or looking up Canadian immigration rules.

If you know more good news, I encourage you to add it in reblogs.

* Nevada has amended their constitution to guarantee abortion rights, overturning a state ban:

* Colorado has passed amendment 79, guaranteeing the right to an abortion, with more than a 20 point spread between the Yes and No vote:

* Maryland Question 1, also focused on reproductive rights and abortion, has passed as well: https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/results/maryland/issue-1

* Likewise, Amendment 3 has passed in Missouri, overturning a near-total ban to add reproductive rights to the state constitution:

* Arizona Proposition 139 to protect abortion rights also passed:

Every glimmer helps.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

before it was "don't vote lol" and now its "its not my fault its white republicans!" its both of your faults actually fuck you.

you were so brave and confident, now you want to deflect? come on now

A lot of people think not voting washed their hands from the personal guilt of voting for an imperfect candidate. In reality, they were complacent in the election of an objectively evil candidate. They have blood on their hands.

this also goes for people who encouraged others not to vote

seeing a lot of radfem rhetoric in the wake of this election so here’s a reminder that yes absolutely misogyny played a massive part in this election and trump did not win Because Of MenTM. he won because the political right in this country, including women, have been radicalized to the point of accepting or actively advocating for white supremacy and fascism.

there is a difference between 54% and 44% yes, but not as big as a lot of this rhetoric is trying to infer. lashing out at the men in your life or random men you see is not going to help. driving men to suicide is not going to help. not dating or sleeping with men is not going to help.

the problem is not solely misogyny. the problem is not MenTM. the problem is fascism. do not let people convince you otherwise.

yes, and also, women are capable of being misogynistic as well. me and my gf were talking about this last night. she saw so many women on tiktok talking about how a "woman can't be president." many women voted for trump also because of misogyny.

almost the same amount of white women voted for trump as white men.

Oh, fuck you

First of all, what stance on genocide? You mean her actual stance that the situation in Gaza is terrible and needs to stop? You mean that fucking stance, and not the one you probably made up or heard from a tumblr tankie?

Secondly, “I wish it were” yeah great job admitting you’re actually fine with Republicans winning as long as it’s for the Morally Pure reasons. But we knew that already.

Third—I’m not seeing Democrats blaming the pro-Palestine movement, but you cannot simultaneously say you wished Democrats lost because of your cause, announce that your movement is going to ratfuck an election against Democrats for a year straight, and then get mad if people blame you for Democrats losing! Again, I think I/P had little to do with this, but you can’t say “haha yes we’ll make you lose…..NOOO DON’T BLAME US!!!”

“We’re so mad that the car isn’t slowing down fast enough that we’re going to take the brakes off”

things we need to address:

  • gen z men getting pulled into alt-right pipelines through andrew tate, joe rogan, elon musk, jordan peterson etc
  • the gullibility and stupidity of half the country voting against our collective best interests
  • the broad effect social media has on public and common good
  • lazy minds and lack of empathy
  • outside-country interference (trump and elon’s connections to russia and the amount of bots from other countries spreading misinformation)
  • the long-term effects of AI and rampant disinformation

reblog this version instead

here’s more

  • uninformed voters
  • misogyny and a concerning amount of young women turning to trad life
  • lack of spirituality. humans for whatever reason need this or else they go crazy at the collective level. i personally am not a fan of religion but religion isn’t the same thing as spirituality. essentially, concern with the soul and self-growth than material things. people are looking for this (hence why so many are turning to guys like jordan peterson) but they are looking in the wrong places and being pulled into regressive ideologies that hurt the people around them rather than enrich the lives of themselves and others

My dream for the election is that it’s definitive. I want a 2012-style Election Day where everyone built it up beforehand to possibly be close but then the results start rolling in and it was like “Oh, nevermind. It’s obviously Obama. Everyone go to bed.”

I just want voters to put a stake right through the heart of Trumpism so that it crumbles to ash before our eyes. That’s the dream.

Ah yes, because (((they))) are coming for you 🙄

copied from one of the replies:

This comparison is deeply, offensively ahistorical and incredibly harmful, both in understanding the Holocaust and the I/P conflict. The motivations, the actions those motivations inspire, and the effects of those actions are all deeply different. And if you are mobilizing people around the idea that they aren’t, you are spreading misinformation that actively impedes the ability for us to create a path towards solutions that lead to peace and the safety of everyone involved.
The Nazis aimed for endless expansion (Hitler was very explicit about the fact that he did not just want to return to the historical borders of the German Empire) & total extermination of Jews, and as such rounded up all Jews & dissidents in any territory they occupied & placed them in industrialized labor and extermination camps, and took over most of Europe and much of the Middle East. Whereas the worst of the worst in Israel are irredentist & revanchist—they want a specific piece of land historically occupied by Jews & they want collective revenge on Arabs & Muslims.
This is racist, reactionary, and violent, but it is not Nazism. Israel isn’t rounding up every Palestinian & dissident they can get their hands on in any territory they occupy. The nearly 2 million Palestinians in Israel are still Israeli citizens with full legal rights. An entire tenth of Israel has been openly attending protests of Netanyahu’s, and haven’t ended up in camps. They’re not an ever-expanding Empire with no end in sight; they’re a tiny country the size of New Jersey, surrounded by multiple factions that have made no secret that their goal is to wipe Israel off the map and chase Jews to the ends of the earth to kill them.
Netanyahu & Likud’s disregard for human life in pursuit of preventing Palestinian statehood & destroying IRI proxy groups like Hamas and Hezbollah (whose existence are existential threats to Israel & Jews living in the region) is more than “regrettable”. It’s unacceptable. But there is no “when they come for you”. And hyperbolic Holocaust Inversion like this, shouting about how the Jews in a little tiny country in the Middle East is like the Jew-killing Empire bent on World Domination, and how it’s “coming for you” wherever you live makes you sound like Alex Jones.
You can easily criticize the Israeli government’s action without rhetoric that amounts to Holocaust Revision/Distortion and weaponizes the memory of the industrialized mass-slaughter of millions of Jews against people still living with its impact—people whose motivation in this war (however brutal & blinded by hate) is heavily informed by a desire to ensure it will not happen to them again.

Also I need to remind everyone that the poem in its original form is also really shitty, insulting, and ahistorical.

The Nazi did not come first for the Socialist and the Communists and then trade unionists and so one until finally they came for the Jews as the poem puts it.

No they started first with Jews and the Roma.

Jews have a long history of being politically left so because the Nazis came for the Jews this meant that any Jews who were Socialists, Communists, members of trade unions, and even anarchists all taken.

The Nazis also came for the disabled and mentally ill.

The purpose of all that they did and their number one target in everything that they did were Jews and the Roma.

That is why our children were in Concentration Camps, that is why our people including children were horrifically experimented, and that is why there men, women, and children from our peoples that were forced into sexual slavery.

Not the Catholics, the trade unionists, the socialists, the communist, and whoever else gets listed on that fakakta poem, no it was Jews and the Roma.

There is a reason why our people have intergenerational trauma from the Holocaust and why each have specific days to remember our victims.

The damage that was done we carry the scars still.

So that poem I hate it with such passion and I need people to understand that what Niemoller wrote is such an insult, it is slap in the face.

when put like that it's almost like the original was meant to appeal to the tankies

I’m slowly realising that almost nobody thinks that antisemitism is a real problem. They only think nazis are a problem (if that even), because they were conditioned to hate them.

But they don’t consider their own antisemitism to be antisemitism - they just consider it to be common sense, or justified political activism!

Whoomp there it is.
