dazai didn’t believe in love at first sight. he wouldn’t say that he fell right in love the first time he saw you behind the bar counter at lupin. but odasaku did.

“beautiful,” he said, probably unaware that he was speaking out loud. odasaku’s eyes were fixed right on you as you wiped the counter clean. dazai found himself smiling softly at his friend. he had all the makings of a romantic.

this time, dazai wasn’t up to his usual antics and let himself quietly sip his drink as you and odasaku conversed at the bar. you were young and lived in a completely different world from the darkness dazai and odasaku were used to. and yet, you weren’t completely ignorant of it either.

“and you?” 

dazai looked up slowly to see that you were addressing him this time. it felt as if the sun was warming his skin. “what’s your name?” you asked.

Was there anything more delightful than a kiss?

For having just started your relationship together, Dazai sure had given and taken his share of kisses, his lips rapidly approaching yours at any given moment.

Tonight would be no different, as he walked you home under the twinkling stars, the anticipation of a sweet good night kiss filling him with glee.

Finally the door to your house appeared, your feet slowing to a stop as you came to face him.

“Good night, Dazai,” you whispered, taking a step towards him.

Almost immediately, he leaned towards you and closed the distance, his lips smoothly moving against yours as he tried to savor your sweetness.

But all too soon you pulled away, murmuring an excuse about having to get your sleep.

“Aww, at least give me one last kiss?” He pleaded, clasping his hands together and looking at you with puppy eyes.

You sighed slightly, quirking an eyebrow.

“It’s always kisses with you. How about a quick hug instead?”

“I don’t think a hug will be as nice as a kiss,” he retorted.

“Take it or leave it,” you sang, reaching for your keys.

He wasted no time in snaking his arms around your waist, quickly pulling you closer to him with a childish grin on his face.

You rolled your eyes, smirking slightly. Calmly, you began wrapping your arms around his back, gently bringing your head to rest on his chest, not a single word dropping into the night air as you held each other close.

...oh.
