The following is an English Language Translation of an article in En Marche, the official Organ of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Ecuador. The original Spanish language article is linked above.

The peoples of Bolivia fight against fascism

The coup d'etat promoted by the right, the police and the Bolivian military, which has the support of imperialism, the OAS and the reactionary governments of the continent is rejected by the workers, peasants, youth, revolutionaries, leftists and democrats of that country , of the region and the world.

After several years of management, the government of Evo Morales and his MAS movement reaped criticism and claims from large sectors of the population, who saw how he implemented a policy contrary to his "leftist" and "anti-imperialist" speeches, while applying a policy of division in the popular movement (as all the so-called progressive governments have done): they divided the CIDOB (Confederation of Indigenous Peoples of Bolivia), then divided the CONAMQ (National Council of Ayllus and Markas del Qullasuyu ), they tried to create - and at one time it seemed possible - a parallel APDHB, and related labor unions were also subject to parallelism or judicialization of opposition leaders and the destruction of undisciplined union directives.

Discontent with the Morales government was accumulating in «popular sectors and the urban middle class: the TIPNIS, the disabled, the teaching staff, the university students, the ADEPCOCA coca growers, the working children, Tariquía, Potosí, Achacachi and many other sectors they were victims of the government and its policies of extractivism and developmentalism aligned with the Chinese-Russian imperialist bloc ”» point out the comrades of the PCR of Bolivia. Authoritarianism is a characteristic of self-styled governments as "progressive", who had as main enemies organized popular sectors and organizations left.

The atmosphere of social discontent was expressed for a long time, clearly becoming evident when he lost the referendum called to reform the Constitution and be able to stand for a new reelection; It was clearly manifested in the vote of the elections last October, which did not give him the victory in a single round and forced him to go to a ballot, but he chose fraud by precipitating the events that the world knows.

In the initial protests against electoral fraud, two aspects must be distinguished: the popular sectors that did so from progressive and democratic positions (it should not be forgotten that the COB in recent days withdrew support for Morales), and the mobilized sectors on the most reactionary right of Bolivia. The latter has had the ability to capitalize in his favor the popular discontent against the withdrawal, and with the support of the Army and the Police to give a coup d'etat that is showing its reactionary and criminal nature.

Today the people fight in the streets against fascism. The organizations of the left that fought against authoritarianism and several of the economic measures of neoliberal dye promoted by Evo lead the discontent and work to give direction to the antifascist resistance. The government of Áñez, the army and imperialism exert a strong repression that has cost the lives of more than 20 people.

The will of struggle of the Bolivian peoples, expressed during these last days, gathers the experience and teachings of the struggles in the past decades, which makes it appear that the correlation of forces and the relationship between them becomes increasingly complex as that at present there is no clarity of what the final resolution to the political crisis would be.

Absolutely no mention in any media outlets beside Democracy Now and RT about the coup against the democratically elected Bolivian Government of Evo Morales. The coup, orchestrated by the Bolivian Military leaders, specifically groups of White Supremacists within the Bolivian Military. Most of whom have been US Military trained to be the newest Latin American Death Squads.

Supporting, organizing and orchestrating the coup behind the scenes, was of course the CIA, the US State Dept., and the US Government's "Non-Profit" Industrial Complex arm.

The US Media's silence on Bolivia has been deafening. When mentioned, the word "coup" is never used, just false conspiracy theory about so-called "Election irregularities". The US media claims Morales was instead "asked" to resign by the. Bolivian Military, yet no condemnation of the Military interfering with the Electoral results of a fairly won election. There's also been no mention whatsoever that Morales was forced into hiding until he could flee the country and claim asylum in Mexico.

The US Media has made no mention of the role played in the coup by the CIA and State Department.

Worst of all, other than some vague mentions about clashes, there have been no attempts by the Corporate US Media to mention the systematic slaughter of Indiginous people's who make up an estimated 90% of Bolivia's population, and not a word about the Lithium Reserves at the heart of the reasons Morales was removed under threat of his life from office.

The US is a danger to the Planet, to Ecosystems across the world, it is the enemy of Democracy, Peace, and Prosperity. And make no mistake, this comes down to US Imperialism and Bolivia's natural resources the Morales refused to allow to be extracted unless the profits were to be shared with the Bolivian people.

American Imperialism must be destroyed. The machinery of Imperialism must be smashed and Capitalism's rule must be ended for anything to change in the world.

The US must be burnt to the ground so the seeds of Proletarian Democracy can sprout and world based on the principles of Socialism established in its place.

In the meantime, let's turn the heat up on the US Imperialists interference with Left Wing Governments all through Latin America!

It's time to bring some serious sunlight on the media blockade against what's happening there! Hit the streets any chance you get and make it clear a Political price WILL be exacted for the interference in Latin American countries.

Solidarity with all my Indiginous Comrades on the ground facing extreme violence and imprisonment to fight Imperialism and the coup!

If anyone on the Left needed a reason why Democratic Socialists can never win the battle against Imperialism, Bolivia should be where the buck stops.

After Democratic Socialist President of Bolivia, Evo Morales refused to give up Bolivia's Lithium resources to Western interests without the profits being shared with the Bolivian people, the US CIA staged a coup against Morales and his Socialist cabinet.

If it weren't obvious to some that this was in fact a CIA staged coup, look no further to the announcement just days after the coup, by Tesla's Elon Musk that he will be opening a new Lithium battery factory in Europe. The stocks for Tesla went up more than 20% after the Bolivian coup, even before Musk's announcement.

The other big mistake by Morales against the Western Imperialist Powers was his Nationalization of the Oil and Natural Gas sectors of Bolivia's Economy.

But the last straw that broke the Imperialist back was a deal announced by Morales to allow China State Industries to mine the Lithium resources in Bolivia in an agreement that would share the profits with the Bolivian Government to pay for new Social Programs, Public Services and educational opportunities for the people of Bolivia.

Morales offered the same deal to Western Corporate interests and they refused to a profit sharing agreement. They insisted they get all the profits from mining Bolivia's resources.

Nothing about any of this is new. The US for more than 200 years has been expropriating Latin American resources, and controlling puppet Governments in Latin America to allow Western Corporate interests to endlessly syphon off those resources without sharing any of the profits with the people in Latin American Countries.

Whenever US Corporate Hegemony has been challenged by those Nations Governments, the US has staged coups.

I cannot even list them all because a list of Latin American coups by US interference would take all day. But just in the last few years, the US has assisted in the ouster of Brazil's Workers Party from power, including the illegal incarceration of the immensely popular Lula Da Silva when it looked like he might be able to win elections. There's been the attempted coup against Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro, and even an attempted assassination of Maduro by the CIA by flying a drone strapped with explosives over him while he gave a speech. When that plot failed, the US Corporate News Outlets claimed the whole thing was a set up by Maduro to solidify his support! That's right, he tried to kill himself with explosives to "solidify" his already high levels of support.

There's also been two coups in Honduras in recent years, including most recently in the middle of Presidential elections when it looked like the corrupt Juan Orlando Hernandez was going to lose, suddenly the computer systems tallying the vote count went down, and when they came back up hours later, suddenly Hernandez was back in the lead and still won by the slimmest of majorities.

So in all of History, the closest thing to a successful Democratic Socialist government winning power through the Bourgeois Democratic Electoral System is in Venezuela, and yet Nicolas Maduro is pilloried all across the world as an Authoritarian Dictatorship despite winning elections in what the Jimmy Carter Foundation claimed was one of the most secure election systems in the world. Nevermind the attempted coups and assassinations.

It becomes more and more clear that Western Imperialism will never allow Socialism to gain a foothold in the world Electorally. There is NO reason to think otherwise. Only Marxism-Leninism offers a way to create Socialism in the world today.

It's clear we need Socialist Revolution within the heart of Imperialism to put an end to Capitalist exploitation and oppression. The Bourgeoisie will stop at nothing to crush any legitimate Electoralism by Socialists within their Bourgeois Democratic Systems. Even with all the odds stacked against us, when we manage to secure power in a Bourgeois Democracy, we are crushed by the Imperialist Powers from without.

There's no reason to support Bourgeois Democracy anymore. As a Socialist you will be called an Authoritarian Dictator no matter how you take power, so the best way to be sure you cannot be crushed fr without is through a Marxist-Leninist Revolution, the consolidation of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, and the build up of a Revolutionary Army capable of defending the Revolution from Imperialism.

We cannot be so naive as to believe the Capitalists will just allow Socialism to be elected into power peacefully. The Imperialists will stop at nothing to stomp out Socialism whether through coercion or through extreme violence.

We have to be ready and willing to defend a Socialist society through a Dictatorship of the Proletariat. This means completely crushing any and all Counter-Revolutionary forces whether through oppression or violence. We have to be willing to smash the Dictatorship of the Bourgeoisie and all their tools of coercion and violence.

It's time Socialists stopped being naive and powerless in the face of Imperialism!

Marxism-Leninism offers us the opportunity to take power back into the hands of the Working Class, it gives us the chance to determine our own future without the coercion and exploitation of the Bourgeoisie.

When offered the opportunity to take power and determine our own future, or continue to be powerless at the hands of a Ruling Class who's only interested is your own exploitation, take that chance, take back power, take back your ability to determine your own future and decide how you should get to work and live!

The Global Capitalist System is on the verge of collapse. We will soon have an opportunity to take that power back in a way we haven't had in over a Century. Whether you believe me when I say that or not, if and when the time comes to do something to determine your own future and the future of Workers everywhere, don't sit back and wait for someone else to do something. Take back your power.

But in the meantime, you have the ability to join and organize with other workers, to learn Revolutionary theory, to help educate and raise the consciousness of the Proletariat so when the opportunity comes to strike, we will not hesitate.

Bolivia should be the last example any of us should need to see why we need to get ready to overthrow the Capitalist System and the Bourgeoisie for good. Don't sit your hands and wait for change to come to you. Study now and prepare for Revolution.
