Found this after I got off the bus on Tchoupitoulis Street in New Orleans
The top 10% of wealthy Americans now own 70% of national wealth and nearly 90% of all stocks
When all the wealth, property and assets of a country are owned by a small minority of the population, what's even the point of Private Property other than to make sure it never benefits ordinary Americans?
Private Property is a scam. Most Americans will never own Property, stocks, bonds, or other major assets.
Eliminate Private Property and return the assets of the United States to its people and return a large portion as reparations to victims of US Imperialism: Native American Nations, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, the DPRK, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Iran, Syria, Serbia, Palestine, Iraq, Panama, Venezuela, Honduras, Columbia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Chile, Cuba, Grenada, Haiti, and nearly the entire sub-saharan African continent.
Even some places the US has never entered militarily have still been destroyed by US Economic Imperialism such as Argentina or Sri Lanka.
The US's favorite weapon of choice when Military options aren't available or prudent is, of course, the IMF.
By virtue of being the world's reserve currency, the US dollar enjoys privileges no other economy does. It can seemingly endlessly print money to fund wars across the globe without any major inflation. This is because, as the world's reserve currency, the US Dollar is always in demand, and so never suffers the kind of inflation Argentina or Sri Lanka might. As long as dollars are in demand, inflation can be staved off.
Meanwhile, other countries must purchase dollars in their own currencies in order to conduct trade. These other countries that don't enjoy "special relationships" with the US like Britain, France or Germany must purchase US dollars at exchange rates favorable to the US since the entire trade system is dominated by US institutions, and therefore the institutions of Wall Street.
If another country tries to print money the way the US does, no one in the West will buy their currency, cratering the currency's value and spiking inflation.
So while other countries must produce surplus value in order to purchase US dollars, the US sits back and collects that surplus value even as the US doesn't even have to produce value to get dollars, it can just print them as they recently printed up $300 BILLION DOLLARS to bail out the super rich depositors at the failed Silicon Valley Bank, First Republic Bank and Signature Bank.
And so, when a country fails to purchase US Dollars and is facing bankruptcy, in swoops the IMF with emergency loans.
These loans not only have to be paid back in full with disadvantageous interest rates, but come with conditions for "Structural Adjustment", in other words, Neoliberal "reforms" that require the country receiving the loans to sell off public assets such as SOEs to the US and its allies, eliminates or reduce public pensions, eliminate wage protections, job safety and public safety regulations, benefits such as paid family leave and sick days, restrict collective bargaining rights, Union and worker rights, along with eliminating things like the minimum wage and limiting social spending, infrastructure funding and even their Healthcare system, all while making a Nation's natural resources available to Western Corporations to steal and exploit.
It's truly Imperialism at its most efficient. First the US created a global financial system that makes it difficult to impossible for impoverished nations to dig themselves out of a hole.
Then the US provides loans with conditions that weaken the state and its people's rights to fight the changes to come. The loans themselves overburden the nation and quickly bankrupt it, forcing the country to go crawling back to the IMF for even MORE Structural Adjustments that further weaken the state's ability to intervene in the economy to help its people while further bankrupting the country.
And the cycle just keeps repeating while the US sucks the wealth, resources and manpower out of its victim.
And so, the US owes reperations across the globe for it's Military AND Economic Imperialism.
And even after reparations have been paid, there will still be plenty of wealth left in the US to make its Working Class healthier, happier and wealthier across the board.

Ukraine war: Wagner may be smuggling weapons from Mali - US - BBC News
Lol, as though Wagner needs weaponry from Mali.
Typical propaganda and gas lighting from the BBC.
Check out this classic line:
HA!
This is rich coming from the United States!
All the US does is interfere in other countries' elections, destabilizes entire regions through warfare, steal a countries' natural resources, conducts regime change operations and lays sanctions against nations that refuse to follow the US Imperialist line.
US war crimes, especially in Africa and the Middle East, are a dime a dozen. The history of US war crimes in Africa goes back hundreds of years and recent decades have only cemented the US's reputation as a destructive colonial power.
Now the US demands of African countries that they uphold the completely fabricated and discredited ICC Warrant and arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Here's what South Africa's Julius Malema had to say about the ICC and its criminal warrant for Vladimir Putin:
"We're not going to be told by these hypocrites of the International Criminal Court who knows the real violators of Human Rights, who know the murderers of this world, that former Premier ah Prime Minister Tony Blair admitted that they made a horrible mistake when it comes to Saddam Hussein. They have not been charged to date. Bush is still there. They have not been charged to date."
"And then Obama killed Gaddafi, and then nothing has happened!"
"We're here today with Libya being destroyed and unable to recover because of America."
"We know very well where NATO gets involved, those are terrorists! We know very well when the US says, we're going in to install peace. That place will NEVER know peace as long as America has visited that place."
"So we don't want the ICC's hypocrisy to apply here in our country. President Putin is welcomed. We know our friends. We know the people who liberated us."
"In Cuito Cuanavale, the weapons that were used in Cuito Cuanavale that led to the liberation of South Africa were coming from Russia. Russia supplied us with weapons in Cuito Cuanavale. Cuba supplied us with soldiers. MK was drunk."
We all know the real Imperialist War Crimes are conducted regularly by the United States and its allies: bombing civilians, leveling sanctions that impoverish, not just the nation being sanctioned, but also all of the countries that do trade with a country sanctioned by the US, further impoverishing the Global South.
When the US sanctions Russian commodities like food, oil and gas, it's the Global South that suffers as they try to replace cheap agricultural products and energy commodities from Russia with far more expensive American and European products.
The US is a great big engine of destruction. It's an empire of, by and for the Trans-Atlantic Capitalist Class. A hegemonic power that suppresses and oppresses working people across the globe.
Something about the Liberal mind is broken by Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Trump.
Trump is right when he says we need to bring this war to an end. It's not about winning or losing, it's about bringing an end to the bloodshed.
Something Liberals and their Neocon allies don't seem to be able to comprehend: you get rid of Putin, and you're virtually certain to bring a bigger hardliner to power on Ukraine and NATO than Putin ever was.
Has anyone been listening to some of the shit Medvedev has been saying??? About Nukes?
The idea that Liberals would think it's okay to try to take out Putin and this is somehow magically going to mean a Ukrainian victory marching into Crimea.
It's a complete fucking fantasy!
What you're more likely to get is the rise to power of a Medvedev, chomping at the bit to let loose the Russian military on NATO assets they know are just sitting on the other side of the border with Ukraine in Poland.
I mean, let's be clear. When we're talking about overthrowing Putin, we're talking about the unleashing of what will likely be a series of events that lead straight to WWIII and Nuclear Holocaust.
And some of the people openly discussing these kind of ideas, ideas we know will lead to disaster, are people with major influence in the halls of power. People in organizations like the Atlantic Council, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Brookings Institute, all openly calling for the US to do MORE for Ukraine, and NOT to find a way to end the bloodshed.
These people are quick to call you a Putin apologist, a Russian puppet, all these cliché gotcha names that allow Liberals and other supporters of the Ukraine Proxy-war to completely ignore facts about the war and dismiss any news they don't like (such as pointing out the very obvious heavy losses Ukraine is sustaining, and their inability to continue to suffer losses at these rates for much longer) as Putin's propaganda.
While these internet "soldiers" enjoy the moral high ground (or so they imagine) online, and truly the largely Western online audiences applaud them and cheer them on, rewarding them with likes and shares and pats on the back.(Good work!)
Meanwhile Ukraine is suffering unimaginable loss: hundreds upon hundreds of casualties every day, expending far more manpower and ammunition than is capable of being replaced by Ukraine and the West. And the Ukrainian economy is barely treading water despite Billions in Western aid, the US even going so far as to fully fund Ukraine's Public Pension system. (Even while our own citizens remain homeless by the tens of thousands and most Americans are struggling without the benefit of a public pension system.)
But point any of this out, easily provable information if you're willing to spend a little while sifting through the propaganda... and you're a Putin puppet, because apparently Americans cannot think beyond the Democrat talking points being spoon-fed to them on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and in the pages of the NY Times and Washington Post.
What exactly are all these Liberals and Neocons going to do when Trump wins the election and Ukraine collapses??? I mean, this is looking more and more likely to happen in less than two years.
I mean, how do you reckon with all the Russiagate garbage, the censorship, the Jan 6th obsession, the lies to make it look like Ukraine ever had even the slimmest of chances against the Russian Federation, the absolutely UNBELIEVABLE turnaround in the media on the existence of Nazi paramilitary forces in Ukraine, all the fake investigations and nonsense around Trump over the last too many years, as though any of it was going to stop him from running for, and winning, the next Presidential election, it's all going to collapse like a ton of bricks in their faces.
But the saddest part of it all is that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and Russians will have to die because of the sheer HUBRIS of Liberals and Neocons in the US and Europe.
And THAT is a War Crime that should always be remembered.
Ukrainian Air Force denies reports Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missile downed over Kyiv / The New Voice of Ukraine
Just to combat all the anti-Russian Propaganda and Ukrainian disinformation claiming that Ukraine somehow used an American-made Patriot Missile Defense System with its terrible reputation in the real world, to shoot down a modern Russian Kinzhal Hypersonic missile.
Well here it is and the verdict is in: it's completely false according to the Ukrainian Air Force and as reported in The New Voice of Ukraine, a strongly Pro-Ukrainian media source.
Does anybody ever just wonder why the US always spends ten times as much as other leading nations on everything from the Military to Healthcare, yet the results are always such shit?
The answer, of course, is the degree of Privatization, Financialization, and Deregulation.
Our Healthcare system is so expensive and so poor because a Capitalist stands between you and your doctor, extracting profits even as they demand as few expensive treatments as possible, regardless of that treatment's effectiveness.
The results are predictable: poorer results with shorter lifespans, worse quality of life, and fewer overall doctor's visits. The other obvious result is the extraction of a larger percentage of profits for the Capitalists and the same or lesser care than other countries for you. Medications and treatments that cost just a few dollars in Cuba or the UK can cost thousands in the US.
Well the same is true of the US Military and even NATO itself.
We spend absolutely OUTLANDISH amounts of printed money on high tech military equipment with the extraction of profits amounting to thousands of percentage in profits for Defense Contractors over their costs.
Last year alone, the Pentagon had, get this, over $35 Trillion dollars in "adjustments" to its budget and $30 Trillion the year before. It's the hidden cost of the Capitalists at play.
Cost overruns? No Problem! Congress will authorize more spending! After all, those same Defense Contractors spend billions on buying Politicians from both Parties.
This is plainly a recipe for disaster. Besides bankrupting the US, the MASSIVE Pentagon spending is only bringing us closer to nuclear conflict as the Biden Administration is ratcheting up tensions with China on a daily basis, even as they continue escalating their provocations against Russia in Ukraine. The US sends more and more weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, including some armaments previously considered "off-the-table" by the Biden Administration because of their potential to escalate the conflict.
The same is true of Taiwan, as new contracts have been announced including weapons procurements for Taiwan lasting into 2029.
But if you take a look at the non-privatized Military spending by Russia and China, it becomes incredibly obvious just how much more efficient Military procurement is for them. You don't read about "adjustments" in the trillions from the Chinese or Russian Ministries of Defense. It just doesn't happen. A contract is agreed to with Defense contractors mostly or fully controlled by the State, and those items are procured at the agreed rate. Period. Completely unlike the years-long court battles, lawsuits and cost overruns in the hundreds of percent you see with US Military procurement.
How much longer can the US spend more than its entire economy on Pentagon "adjustments" every year?
Can the US, with it's "just-on-time" military procurement system really continue to challenge Russian and Chinese Military power on the other side of the globe?
At this point, the US system is in a slow-motion collapse under the weight of its own corruption. The status-quo cannot continue without bankrupting and impoverishing us all.
Empire, Capitalism and corruption all come with a cost. And that cost will be felt for generations to come.
Is there any way we could somehow advertise for a fake RAND Corp Global Oil Market Strategy Forum and when all the Neocons are gathered in the same room together, we convince Russia or China to drop a small tactical neutron bomb on the gathering?
Is this a possibility?
I mean, think, millions of people will likely have been spared very horrible deaths by this one action.
Take a moment to consider the abuses by police officers. From intimidation, physical and verbal abuse, to entrapment, blackmail, corruption, scheming setups, planted drugs, even rapes, murders, and coverups.
Beyond that, there's the systemic abuse and over-policing of poor and minority neighborhoods.
Often cop's crimes go completely unpunished and as a class, cops are among the least accountable citizens in society.
All these abuses and more occur despite our Constitutional protections, "democratic" norms, and a strong Judicial system and strong govt institutions.
Now imagine halfway across the world, in amorphous war zones in foreign countries occupied by US troops, the CIA and their proxies.
Can we even begin to imagine the daily horrors and abuses inflicted on civilians caught in these war zones? Do we really think traumatized teens and twenty something's sent across the globe to plunder resources for Billionaire Oligarchs and the Transnational elites aren't committing far more horrid crimes against civilians in these places?
Whatever abuses Americans suffer at the hands of cops living in the imperial core, multiply that a hundredfold when it comes to US occupying forces in obscure war zones.
What kind of accountability do you really think exists in practice for victims of crimes by US occupying forces or CIA proxies in far flung battlefields in Iraq, Syria, Yemen Libya, Somalia or Afghanistan???
And never forget that the tools of yesterday's foreign wars often become the tools for societal control at home. Remember, the Dept of Homeland Security still sends countless shipments of military overstock, gear and weaponry, to police and sheriff's departments all across the country every year. Those stocks of weapons and gear, including armored vehicles and chemical agents are rolled out en force the moment there's unrest or mass protest.
You can't be anti-cop and pro-Imperialism, just like you can't be anti-Imperialist and pro-cop. The two are intimately intertwined, and whatever we inflict on the outside world, we tend to import home: drugs, gun violence, sex trafficking, corruption, and Fascism.

It’s so important we humanize the leaders of Proletarian Revolution. For too long the Imperialists and Capitalists have determined how we view Socialist leaders. Enough’s enough.
Before all the idiots swallowing Western Propaganda say a Fucking Word, Here you Go:
DPRK
Number of Prisoners: 150,000
Prisoners Per Capita: 600 per 100,000
(since these figures were calculated, the DPRK has closed on of it's largest Prison facilities)
Total Number of Prisoners Executed: 105 between 2007-2012
China
Number of Prisoners: 1.6 Million
Plus: 600,000 short term detention centers
(these numbers are the highest estimate, most Organizations put these figures much lower)
Prisoners Per Capita: 170 per 100,000
Number of Executions: (last known years as reforms began to Capital Punishment) 2013-2014 2,400
United States
Number of Prisoners: 2.3 Million
Prisoners Per Capita: (Estimated) 655-800 per 100,000 (figures that combine all Federal, State and Local Jails and Prisons are not kept. Figures range from 655 on the lowest end and 800 on the highest)
Number of Executions: (2018) 25
So take this however you like. The US clearly has the highest incarceration rate in the world while China clearly has the highest amount of Executions in the world. Though China has made multiple reforms to their Capital Punishment System and each year the number of Executions has gone down markedly, yet they still have a long way to go.
The DPRK however is not near the top of either list, and exact rates are unknown and both China and the DPRK say the actual rates in the DPRK are actually far lower than what US and Western Government funded Non-Profits claim them to be, especially the largest Prison complex has since been closed.
Doing my part in making Mickey Mouse a pro Hong Kong icon! Mickey says: democracy now!
Mickey is the mascot of a brutal capitalist machine, so yea, I would say he’s the perfect mascot for HK.
Fucking amazing how people in the West are always being so easily duped into supporting Imperialism while expertly making their support seem "Progressive".
Even when they're soaking knee-deep in indiginous blood they'll still refuse to question their blind servitude to Imperialism and the Bourgeoisie.

Imperialism: The Highest Stage Of Capitalism
The International Socialist Organization and the 2012 US elections
By David Walsh 25 October 2012
The International Socialist Organization (ISO) in the US plays a definite role in American political life. It translates the circumstances and concerns of certain better-off layers of the middle class into the language of left-liberal politics.
As a consequence, the ISO operates politically as an advocacy group in and around the Democratic Party, seeking to improve opportunities for the academics, identity politicians, trade union officials, think tank and media consultants, institute fellows and “radical” journalists and researchers who make up much of its membership and periphery.
The ISO is oppositional and “socialist” only in so far as the milieu it operates within and speaks for is discontented with the extreme concentration of wealth and political power in the US. In particular, the group’s constituencies would like to see the legal and financial position of the trade union apparatus secured and greater numbers of African Americans, other ethnic minorities, gays and women in public office, academic positions and company boardrooms. In the pursuit of those aims, the ISO calls for increased government spending (Keynesian policies) and greater regulation of big corporations.
That the ISO describes itself as socialist and revolutionary while accepting the existing political and economic set-up gives the organization’s utterances their peculiarly two-faced and deceitful character.
In regard to the 2012 elections, the ISO and its publication, Socialist Worker, criticize Barack Obama and the Democratic Party from within that party’s own general orbit, campaigning for greater lobbying pressure on the Democrats so that the upper-middle class “left” can get what it wants.
The ISO leadership is also highly sensitive to the danger of a popular movement against capitalism emerging outside of Democratic Party and trade union control, and feels that it can better block such a development if it has a certain flexibility of movement.
A recent article, “What’s Wrong With Lesser Evilism” (socialistworker.org, October 24, 2012), exemplifies the group’s duplicitous words and deeds.
The column begins, “Does Barack Obama deserve your vote? That’s the question people on the left should be asking as Election Day approaches.”
Not so. Genuinely socialist-minded people should and will be asking themselves what is to be done about a moribund political system that guarantees that one or another reactionary millionaire will make decisions affecting the lives of tens of millions of people over the next four years. They will be asking themselves how best to proceed to uproot this anti-democratic process that serves the interests of the financial-corporate oligarchy.
The ISO, on the other hand, begins by implicitly accepting the legitimacy of the political set-up, the elections and the two-party system.
The Socialist Worker comment proceeds to criticize the Nation magazine, whom it includes among the “most liberal and even radical voices,” for its open endorsement of Obama and the Democrats.
It chides the liberal-left magazine’s editorial writers both for making undue claims about Obama’s “accomplishments” and for asserting, in the ISO’s paraphrase, that “our movements will be in a better position to accomplish our goals with Democrats in control of the White House and Congress.”
In regard to the first point, the ISO accepts the Nation’s contention that there have been limited advances under Obama, but that (a) the White House “moved achingly slowly on LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] rights,” for example, and (b) “that Obama had to be pushed every step of the way to follow through on any promises at all,” such as his support for same-sex marriage.
Again, the social interests involved are clear. Nothing about the tens of millions of unemployed and under-employed people, the poverty-stricken and homeless, those who have lost their life savings with the housing price collapse or seen their wages and benefits slashed. The ISO is as indifferent to the conditions of broad portions of the working population as the official Democratic Party campaign.
Still more revealing is the ISO editorial’s reasoning about how “our movements” can accomplish their goals. The Nation’s stance, writes socialistworker.org, “enables the Democrats’ shift further and further toward the right, because party leaders know they can take progressive voices for granted.”
So the task of “progressive voices” is not to fight resolutely for a break with the Democrats, exposing its anti-working class, imperialist character, but to avoid being taken for granted by Democratic Party leaders. The ISO’s quarrel with the Nation, the organ of self-satisfied, well-heeled American liberalism, proves to be a tactical one: how to position oneself so as to have one’s demands taken seriously by one of the country’s two big business parties.
The ISO editorial goes further. It explains that “supporting the lesser evil requires muting the criticisms of activists and the left—ultimately, tailoring our movements and struggles to the needs of the Democrats, rather than demanding that the Democrats live up to the promises they make to win votes, or face the consequences.”
This could not be much clearer. The Obama re-election campaign is not promising anything to the unemployed, to auto workers (whose wages have been cut in half), to young people who face a bleak future. It does, however, seek to win votes from sections of the middle class with pledges about gay and women’s rights, making it easier for unions to secure membership, greater opportunities for minority “entrepreneurs,” and so on. The ISO exists, in its own words, to exert pressure on the Democrats to make good on these pledges.
In any event, even the Socialist Worker’s nominal rejection of “lesser of two evilism” and the Democratic Party is empty and duplicitous. In practice, the ISO collaborates on a daily basis with Democrats and their public supporters in the trade unions, “civil rights movement” and elsewhere.
The organization provides platforms for and promotes charlatans such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton… and pro-Obama groupie John Nichols of the Nation. It invites union officials such as Sal Rosselli, president of the National Union of Healthcare Workers and formerly of the SEIU, an early and enthusiastic supporter of Obama in 2008, to address its conferences.
In 2008, it should be remembered, the ISO did everything but publicly endorse Obama. The organization would now like to pretend this didn’t happen.
In September of this year, socialistworker.org ran an interview with leading ISO member Lance Selfa (“What Do Socialists Say About Election 2012?”). The anonymous interviewer began, “Many people approached the 2008 presidential election with a sense of hope and expectation, but the 2012 election is taking place in a very different atmosphere? Why is that?”
Selfa replied by noting that a poll early in 2009 gave newly elected president Barack Obama a high approval rating and indicated that a majority of those interviewed “said they were confident Obama could achieve all of his major campaign promises… It seems like a century ago, but those were the expectations of millions of people in 2009.”
Selfa is being dishonest. The ISO strongly encouraged those illusions in 2008-2009, as the record demonstrates.
Immediately following the November 2008 election, for example, Socialist Worker wrote, “The sweeping victory of Barack Obama in the presidential elections is a transformative event in US politics, as an African American takes the highest office in a country built on slavery.”
In a subsequent editorial, the ISO observed, “Four years ago, a shroud of despair and fear descended after George W. Bush’s re-election… Four years later, the mood could not be more different…
“In this sense, the [popular] celebration of Obama’s win isn’t just of one side beating the other, but of history being made.”
The ISO claimed in late 2008 that Obama’s coming to power meant “the conservative stranglehold over US politics for a quarter century under Republicans and Democrats alike has been broken” and that the depth of the crisis was inexorably “driving Obama toward a different [i.e., progressive] agenda.”
The organization has never offered an explanation as to how it could have been so utterly wrong. It feels no responsibility to those who have suffered painfully under an Obama administration, in the US and abroad. The ISO’s general orientation has not changed. It is merely attempting to adapt itself in 2012 to the deep disillusionment with the man whose election it once characterized as a historical breakthrough.
In 2012, as in 2008, the ISO’s chief political activity is to pursue the narrow aims of the social element it represents. What this petty bourgeois “left” wants stands in opposition to workers’ interests. Thus, the ISO is a staunch opponent of the political independence of the working class, the central perspective of a genuinely socialist and egalitarian movement.
This is why a truly democratic and worker led revolution can occur only once worker's and young people are educated to the fact that the vast majority of today's left in America has been deeply co-opted and corrupted by the Liberal Bourgeoisie. They look to moderate radical forces on the left and channel it into the system through the Democratic Party, which is and always will be dominated by the ruling class Capitalists and the billions of dollars they pour into the Party.
The Capitalists have full control of the Democratic Party and no intention of letting it be wrestled free of their control. We can't change the party. No matter how much work and organizing power Left organizations put into pushing Democrats to become a Progressive force within the Capitalist system, the Bourgeoisie will always have more money and power to co-opt and ultimately neuter those efforts.
In a society where a handful of people own more wealth than the bottom half of society, and the middle classes have been turned into a reactionary right-wing force in American politics for the most part, along with the Bourgeois control of the Media, we can never hope to defeat them in their own plauground.
Our ONLY hope, our only course to succeed is the unity of the Working Class to overthrow Capitalism through a worker's revolution and the establishment of a dictatorship of the Proletariat, a true Worker's Democracy that seizes the means of production and establishes Socialism right here at the very gates of the Global Capitalist machine.
Half measures, compromise and pragmatism will NEVER succeed at demolishing the Capitalist system that uses racism, patriarchy and sexism, white supremecy, homophobia and transphobia, bigotry, and xenophobia to divide us, to divide the power of workers and use our differences as one of it's many tools of repression including using the State and the threats of poverty, homelessness and starvation to keep us from challenging their Bourgeois rule.
We're all comrades in arms being crushed under the weight of oppression by Capitalism and Bourgeois Democracy. Whether or not we agree on how to make a fairer, more humane world based on equality. We all agree this isn't the world we want for ourselves, our friends, our neighbors and our communities.
We have to put aside our differences and stand in solidarity against Capitalism internationally.
“One of the most important things the [Black Panther] Party did was to make it really clear who the enemy was: not white people, but the capitalistic, imperialistic oppressors. They took the Black liberation struggle out of a national context and put it in an international context…. It was also clear to me that without a truly internationalist component nationalism was reactionary. There was nothing revolutionary about nationalism by itself-Hitler and Mussolini were nationalists. Any community seriously concerned with its own freedom has to be concerned about other peoples’ freedom as well. The victory of oppressed people anywhere in the world is a victory for Black people. Each time one of imperialism’s tentacles is cut off we are closer to liberation… Imperialism is an international system of exploitation, and we, as revolutionaries, need to be internationalists to defeat it.”
— Assata Shakur, “Assata: An Autobiography”
