30, Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum debuted Feb 70 and peaked at number three, scoring 1273 points.

Norman was born in Malden, Massachusetts, and had two other chart entries 1970-71 after this, his solo debut. Neither of them made the top 40. Previously, Norm was lead singer of Dr West's Medicine Show and Junk Band. The group peaked at number 52 in early 1967 with The Eggplant That Ate Chicago.
