Basically Norman or another cast member went off and revealed that in the beginning Daryl was already intrigued by Carol and watched her. In CDC, He was supposed to offer his bottle of wine to Carol during dinner time. In the episode we saw we see him staring at her but not approaching her. The deleted part was Daryl coming to her, offering her wine and being flirty with her while Sophia sits beside Carol.
