TWD Family ❤️💔
So lately, I’ve been thinking a lot of the TWD Team Family/ladies and Rick & Michonne being canon.
It all started from this post. :) The post brought up an idea of Carol hanging out with Carl talking about Sophia. The picture on the post was actually them talking about Lori. Then the post talks about Daryl with Judith. It’s all Rick & Lori’s kids hanging out with the Team Family kind of thing.
Anyway, I was thinking about who in the Team Family knows Lori and the Grimes family. It really made me focus on the group of characters in the show.
Team Family
the Alanta 5: Rick, Carl,..... Daryl, Carol, Glenn.
Farm team: Maggie
Prison team: Sasha, Michonne, baby Judith
after-Prison: Tara, Rosita, Abe, Eugene
Alexandria: Aaron, Enid, Denise.
...and some others, minor characters.
I want to point out ones who are friends with Lori and are still living.
Carol, Maggie, Daryl, Glenn. (or Caryl and Gleggie)
Since Richonne went canon, I hope for Carol, Maggie, Daryl, and Glenn’s thoughts of Richonne/family. I know it’s all supportive and positive. I really want to see their reactions and thoughts about Richonne, because they know Lori and the Grimes before. Lori had been a big part of the show too and if we get a moment of them talking about Richonne and Lori, it’s like a full circle kind of thing for the show. This show have a long history. But, most TV shows.. don’t really show other character’s reactions or what they’re thinking of couple being canon...or not enough moments for me. sigh.
I especially want to see Carol and Michonne to interact too. Or, Carol and Maggie to interact with Michonne. Carol and Maggie are the only ladies who knows Lori. Also, hey, Team Moms.
Back to Carol and Michonne. Lori’s closest friend was Carol. Also, Carol is like the mama-bear of the Team Family. She looks after Carl and Judith a lot. Up to season 4, Michonne started to be more of the mothery role to Carl and Judith...,and with the story, Carol was apart from the group. Actually I think Team Family had more interactions together in s5-s6 (which is why I probably really into the show now. Because the Team Family are together in one place now.) I think it would be really interesting to see Carol with Michonne to interact (more) and be best friends, pleaaase. I want to see Carol telling Rick that she’s happy for him and is glad that Michonne is like the new wife to Rick and new mom to Carl and Judith. (Plus, Carol and Michonne have a lot things in common.)
idk why I keep bringing up the s6b EW magazine covers.... Each TWD cover of the EW magazine was Rick, Michonne, Carol, Daryl, Glenn, and Maggie. With that you pair it up, you get Richonne, Caryl, Gleggie. BTW, Caryl and Gleggie are ones who knew Lori, were on the show longer than most characters. Do you get it? The 3 pairings are the longest living pairings on the show.
Make me choose - lori or michonne as a motherly figure

SOMEONE PLEASE TALK TO ME ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK LORI WOULD THINK OF MICHONNE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH CARL AND RICK
BECAUSE I AM CURIOUS WHAT SHE WOULD THINK OF IT
I think she’d want Rick and Carl to be happy. Michonne would die for Carl, and while I can’t really say exactly what her relationship with Rick is (a strong friendship/understanding, with the possibility of more), if Michonne and Rick did get together, I think Lori would want him to have that type of relationship. I think deep down both Lori and Rick felt they weren’t good enough for each other and it hurt them both deeply. There were many sides of Lori she never wanted Rick to see, and Rick was the same way with Lori. If Rick can have a relationship that is honest and full, then I think Lori would be happy (and I think she and Rick were on the way to having that again, for the first time in many years, when she died).
So I think she’d be happy for them, and grateful to Michonne, especially because of how much Michonne loves Carl.
How do you think you’d get on with Lori if you met her in real life? If she existed?
can we clear up the bullshit once and for all re: lori being mad at rick for killing shane
good post. i did think it was something about Carl's innocence...but there was something she was mad about or got scared of Rick later on. She's mad at Rick for not letting Carl losing his innocence? I just think there should be more explaination on her reaction.
Also I wonder why in s3 she was not mad at Rick but trying to get him to forgive him. I think I heard SWC that Lori's reaction is what sets Rick to alienate her because Rick needed her and she wasn't. Also, in the winter, Lori realizes that and forgives Rick and then wanting to Rick to forgive her, love her.
a character to hate
"I think it's great that you hate Lori. When I hear something like that I smile and think about what an amazing job Sarah Wayne Callies has done and also how fearless the writing is with her character.
What I find interesting about TV and the audience reaction sometimes is that everyone tends to want each character to be likable or consistent. Even with villians, if they are consistent, they kind of like them. Then, when a villian displays some sort of warmth, they go bonkers because they love the idea of a villian with a heart of gold.
But how come it's harder to swallow when it's a good person that isn't consistently good?
I remember reading the comic and HATING Lori. I hated her because she was bipolar; irrational in one moment but then suddenly rational the next. Loving one moment, and scornful the next. But then I realized as I took a step back and looked at the whole that her character is completely necessary and makes for interesting drama.
They are in a zombie apocalypse. They are going to be inconsistent. People are going to mess up. People are going to be irrational. People are going to be selfish. People are also going to be good.
Makes for interesting TV." -Steven Yeun
I like this quote about characters you might hate in any story. It make sense that if someone you thought or expect to be.. is inconsistent..that makes people upset. Unless it's like Lori, meant to be inconsistently good. All what writers meant to do, though.
*BTW I don't hate Lori.
oh this really shows it better. at first it was a glimpse of hope of them rebuilding their relationship, then the walker attack, he's desperately want to find Lori but she's gone. that feeling of too late. Lori loving him always.
