8 Queer books I read this year! These are placed in no particular order, they're all sapphic stories, and I HIGHLY recommend every single one :)
had a dream i was on a path in the woods and at the end of the path was a cabin and in the basement of that cabin was a princess and i was there to slay her or it would be the end of the world but when i went in the basement there was just a lone salmon . it wasnt alive . it was a cooked salmon . and the narrator was like ok slay her what are you waiting for and i was like theres no princess and he was like what do you mean shes right there and i was like that is a salmon and he was like what no and i was like its literally not alive i cant slay the salmon and he was like can you at least try so i spent like ten minutes just stabbing this salmon and eventually i was like this isnt working can i go home and the narrator was like you still have to slay the salmon and then i woke up
You are here to fillet her
um. guys. not to ruin anyone’s christmas or anything but a goblin army is approaching from the west
ok? so let them join the festivities
saddest thing ever is seeing new 18-22 year olds talk about how Christmas doesn't feel magical anymore during their transition from it being a super special day of the year to kinda just another average day of the year. I remember that feeling well, and I just want to say to those young people specifically: if you want the magic back you have to create it yourself now, the way you want to. it's your magic now

everyone shut the fuck up this is the only funny addition to this post
This is so funny bc my high school art teacher had a list like this, i went seaching for it and
That list is... absurd.
Like, it's almost literally "you can't illustrate 90% of the things you think about, like, or see around you on a day to day basis." She's basically got ... "furry and non-furry animals" on there, so like, no animals, no food, no modern conveyances, no houses, no cities...
... if she can't teach you how to use common images to make new and interesting art, that's on her as a teacher, tbh, and who fucking cares if your art is trite. The shit you create at school is all practice art. That's the whole point. That's... how you learn.
The number of things she's got on there twice is really, really telling.
yeah that list sounds like a fun challenge to take on due to not liking the year's Inktober prompts or some such, but notice how no fraction of a high school GPA hangs on completing anything for Inktober
At this point i wonder what even IS an allowed subject? Microscopy? Hyperspecific type of plant life drawn as a 19th century encyclopedia entry? Fabric, as in just zoomed in and draped fabric over some uneven surface? Abstract prismatic reflections like light bouncing off of broken glass or a sparkling geode or just an absolute mess of a horrible case of a lense flare? How is everyone supposed to come with entirely original non-repeating ideas with that long list of forbidden themes and objects? Like i get something like top 5 or top 10 to steer people from repeating viral things. But this is like 50+ items
she rules out almost all possible fictional, original, or real biological creatures, all flowering plants, all trees, anything mythological, architecture people live in, the entire universe beyond earth ("outer space"), and the concept of "love"
But I think the funniest part is that birds are specified three times, and the sun is listed twice, but the second time she specifies the sun wearing sunglasses
