Theseus is Newt’s older brother, and Head of the Auror Office at the Ministry of Magic. The Ministry is at Hogwarts to find out Newt’s whereabouts from Dumbledore, who at the time is Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts
The Travers family is one of the “Sacred Twenty-Eight” families. At least one of its members was one of Voldemort’s most important Death Eaters. He later escaped from Azkaban and fought in many battles, including the Battle of Hogwarts
The WIZARDING WORLD™ of J.K. Rowling gets an official logo, indicating the franchise consisting of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts is only set to keep growing!
The new logo is an open book (for obvious reasons) and the W in Wizarding contains a lighting bolt.
The book’s pages are actually 9 wands, belonging to the main HP & FB characters. From left to right: Voldemort’s, Ron’s, Hermione’s, Harry’s, Dumbledore’s (the Elder Wand), Newt’s, Tina’s, Queenie’s, & Grindelwald’s (the wand he possessed before claiming the Elder Wand).
THOUGHTS?! Does this mean the Wizarding World will be growing even faster and bigger? How do we feel about Voldemort’s and Grindelwald’s wands being included in the logo?

Everyone on that photo is coupled up, except (including?) Dumbledore x Grindelwald on opposite ends ...

“Newt is absolutely still in love with her” ... “she has ... power over him”
Inspired by @katiehavok’s Newt/Queenie fic where Tina and Theseus get together, and by a pic of Callum Turner and Zoe Kravitz.
What if the reason Newt and Leta aren’t together is because she fell for <I>Theseus?</I>
You’re a Seer! It was just confirmed today Leta and Theseus are engaged
EEEP!
This is looking more and more like Leta and Theseus are a thing.
It’s been confirmed on Pottermore they’re engaged
• Newt’s brother Theseus is engaged to Leta Lestrange (!!!)
• A new character played by South Korean actor Claudia Kim is a Maledictus, someone who suffers from a ‘blood curse’ that turns them into a beast

Newt Scamander, fueling a new round of potential ship pandemonium...
The German version of Newt’s introduction in the new edition of Fantastic Beasts (to be released March 14) has been released! Here are the most interesting points. If any German-speaking fans are able to translate the whole thing please do!

We already know FB2 will mostly take place in Paris, France. On Twitter, Jo confirmed that further by posting an old-timey French typewriter that’ll be used in the film. Will we get to visit the French Ministère de la Magie?! 😳😍
The lyrics to the Ilvermorny song:
We stand as one, united Against the Puritan We draw inspiration From good witch Morrigan For she was persecuted By common wandless men So she fled from distant Ireland And so our school began Oh Ilvermorny, Massachusetts We choo-choose it, we choo-choose it The wizard school supreme Your castle walls they kept us safe Our days with you a dream You taught us all of magic And now one thing’s quite clear Where'er we roam, where'er we roam Our one true home, our one and on’ Is Ilvermorny dear
This song was written by Alison Sudol [Queenie]
Was there anything in the script that was particularly difficult to shoot? Actually there was. There was a really beautiful scene that [J.K. Rowling] wrote where Newt tells Tina about a young African girl that he tried to save, because this young African girl had an Obscurus.
It’s a really difficult story for Newt to tell. They’re in a department store, chasing the Demiguise. Newt shares this story with Tina and, as he shares this story with Tina, the Demiguise has a forward vision of multiple futures for Tina and Newt. They start to peel away from each other and then you see these multiple Tinas and Newts having different conversations about their future.
It’s an absolutely beautiful scene on the page, and I always loved it. When we were developing it in the script, [producer] David Heyman kept saying, “That’s a tricky one there, isn’t it? How does that work conceptually? How does that not stop the film from rolling forward?” And I always said, “Look guys, it’s so beautiful” – this idea of future Newts and Tinas. It was very trippy and very fun. But, of course, when I put the movie together it just felt – in the moment – we were gaining so much momentum chasing that Demiguise that it felt like it stopped things.
Rather than deepening Newt and Tina’s relationship, it didn’t quite take us to where we wanted to be with them. And so, we took it out. It’s a testament to Jo’s unique imagination that she comes up with stuff like that all the time. Most of the time, when we shoot it, it works – but in that case it just seemed to stop things a bit.
