The trailer’s out excuse me while I pass out!!! 😱😱😱
Quick notes:
- We’re back in Hogwarts!!!
- Also back in London! And Paris!! AND New York!!!
- Newt’s brother Theseus and co-Aurors visits Dumbledore to ask about Newt
- Newt is the “only one who can defeat Grindelwald” – where have we heard that before?
- Someone uses a Put-Outer, potentially the same one Dumbledore bestows upon Ron

The new official WIZARDING WORLD logo (™ & © Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.)
The WIZARDING WORLD™ of J.K. Rowling gets an official logo, indicating the franchise consisting of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts is only set to keep growing!
The new logo is an open book (for obvious reasons) and the W in Wizarding contains a lighting bolt.
The book’s pages are actually 9 wands, belonging to the main HP & FB characters. From left to right: Voldemort’s, Ron’s, Hermione’s, Harry’s, Dumbledore’s (the Elder Wand), Newt’s, Tina’s, Queenie’s, & Grindelwald’s (the wand he possessed before claiming the Elder Wand).
THOUGHTS?! Does this mean the Wizarding World will be growing even faster and bigger? How do we feel about Voldemort’s and Grindelwald’s wands being included in the logo?
I really love Gellert's outfit. The German/Swiss alpine touch is great! The Lederhosen pattern and the chain on his vest for example. All in all he looks a lot better than in the first one. (But the bar was low). But I'm not happy with Jude Law's Dumbledore look. I didn't recognise him at all at first.
ooooh talk costume design to me 🤤🤤🤤 dang I love hearing about all the little details from someone who actually knows what they’re saying! and agreed for dumble
I only know the chains from the annually “Look at Bavarian Tradition” stuff during Oktoberfest time 😅
But I did a quick research on the chain.
It’s called Charivari (from Latin caribaria = “mess”/“madness”. Pronounced „Schariwari“) and made of silver jewellery chains a day decorated with precious stones, coins, antlers or horns, animal paws, claws, teeth and similar stuff.
It is traditionally worn with Lederhose or Dirndl. And it was passed down in the family (you could not buy the Charivari) and considered a talisman for a good hunt.
The mess/madness meaning is pretty fitting for Grindelwald! I wonder it it’s just a nice nod to his heritage or has some deeper meaning. Also the Lederhose got trendy after WW1 so that’s also fitting in the time. (Although that doesn’t look like a traditional one, but the embroidery seems right.)

Everyone on that photo is coupled up, except (including?) Dumbledore x Grindelwald on opposite ends ...
New Intro Written by Newt Released!
The German version of Newt’s introduction in the new edition of Fantastic Beasts (to be released March 14) has been released! Here are the most interesting points. If any German-speaking fans are able to translate the whole thing please do!
- Rita Skeeter recently published a biography of Newt titled Man or Monster? in which she claims he was never a Magizoologist but a spy for Dumbledore sent to infiltrate MACUSA
- Looking back, Newt thinks it was a huge mistake to bring a case full of magical beasts to New York City
- A year after Newt’s visit, President Picquery signed a decree making Thunderbirds and all magical creatures protected species
- American magical beasts were excluded from the first edition of Fantastic Beasts at Picquery’s request, who wanted to prevent “animal tourism” to America
- Skeeter claims “Newt broke Picquery’s heart.” Newt claims Picquery couldn’t wait for him to leave America
- “It is true I was the first person to be able to arrest Grindelwald, and it is true Dumbledore was more than just a teacher to me.” – Newt (!!!)
- Newt cannot say much because he would be breaking an Unbreakable Vow and revealing secrets Dumbledore confided in him

Mysterious scribbles (likely FBAWTFT 2)
→ Mysterious pages of notes that mention Dumbledore, very likely for the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. From the desk of new JKRowling.com website. Transcript under cut:
Two Takeaways From This:
- If these are indeed FB2 notes and they mention a Draco Malfoy, they’re probably referring to “our” Draco’s great-grandfather, who would be alive during that time
- Jo has a Victini pin on her desk which means she’s aware of Pokémon and my two biggest fandoms collide!
