life cleansing tips:

- delete conversations between people you no longer talk to. its healthy to let go of the past and not letting yourself dwell on things.

- say kind things about people you like. say good things about yourself. don’t speak or think about people you don’t like.

- look in mirrors. you shouldn’t be afraid of facing yourself.

- clean sheets make clean sleep make clean minds

- allow yourself time to feel and grow. don’t be too hard on yourself for crying, you need to vent in order to move on to better times. even rainy days work towards sunny days.

- if things don’t work out, stop forcing them. there’s no reason for you to keep working and failing if there’s other places/people for you to excel and be happy.

- kiss your body, caress your body. make yourself feel loved.

- running away doesn’t always solve everything. sometimes, the reason that made you run will still be with you. focus on freeing yourself before starting anew.

- a glass of water and a good nights rest can go a long way

Ritual for Positive Thoughts

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • a bowl
  • water
  • salt
  • lavender oil (optional; be sure it is safe for skin!)
  • a rag

INTENT: To bring forth positive thoughts and help reduce nightmares.

STEPS:

  1. Gather your water and salt into a bowl; use two drops of lavender oil if using.
  2. Let the tip of your rag soak in the water.
  3. Close your eyes and focus on the water. Charge it with positive energy by holding your hand over it, not touching.
  4. Take your rag and gently dab it from one temple to the other, using 5-7 light dots of the soaked against your forehead while focusing on positive energies.
  5. Save mixture and repeat daily and/or nightly.

Cathy's Super Easy Guide to Moon Rituals For Witches Who are Equally Useless at Observing Moon Cycles as she is

Can’t stick to making use of the new and full moons?

Loose track of where you are and when the next moon phase is?

Want a ridiculously easy ritual that you and I both are going to stick to?

Want to join me in finally utilising the moon phases?

Okay! Here we go! 3 simple stages to moon witchy goodness!

This post may look long but that all depends on whether you need to read the explanations and the optional extras- for the most simple advice read only the basic ritual bullet points 😌

🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️

1.)

First of all download the free Moon app

this will send you alerts on the new and full moon and you can also set it as a widget if you’re on iPhone (maybe on android too, I haven’t got one so couldn’t tell you for sure) so you can just draw down the notifications on your phone and go to ‘today’ and it will tell you the moon’s current state and what percentage there is to go until the next phase.

iPhone peeps here is your link (maybe some lovely person can please reblog with the android link? Thank you muchly!!)

NEW MOON rituals

✨✨✨BASIC RITUAL:✨✨✨

🌑 spiritually cleanse yourself

(perhaps enchant a glass of water and drink it, enchant your bath or shower water, cleanse yourself with incense, mix some salt and water and put into a spray bottle- spritz it over yourself, meditate and envision bright cleansing light flowing through your body… Whatever works best for you!)

🌑 cleanse your equipment

(Use a clear Quartz crystal or pendulum to cleanse your other crystals, tarot cards, whatever equipment you use on a regular basis. Use incense smoke, water if appropriate- check the stones you want to clean are water safe- some become toxic in water!! Use salt… Blow on them… Whatever your chosen method is- research cleansing methods if you’re not inspired by my suggestions!)

💫💫💫OPTIONAL EXTRAS:💫💫💫

🌑 write a short list of goals for the month ahead and write how you can go about achieving them

(be easy on yourself! Less goals means more chance of achieving them!!)

🌑 do a tarot card reading

My favourite one for the new moon as it’s the beginning of a new lunar cycle and therefore a fresh start, is this one:

Divide your tarot cards into 5 piles- one pile for wands, one for swords, one for pentacles, one for cups and one for the major arcana.

Place each pile face down around you in a star shape, as they would be on the pentagram- imagine you’re in the middle. Pentacles, symbolising Earth would be to the left behind you, to the left to the side of you would be Swords, symbolising Air, to the right behind you will be Wands, symbolising Fire, to the right beside you will be Cups symbolising Water, and infront will be the major arcana symbolising spirit.

Shuffle each pile and go around the piles in turn asking each element to give you wisdom about the month ahead of you. Draw whichever card feels right from each pile- whichever way you usually use to choose which card to draw.

Earth will give advice from a material side of things, Air from an intellectual side, Fire will be to do with your passions and goals, Water to do with your emotions, and spirit will give you a generalised message.

🌕 recharge any spells you’ve made during the month if they are ongoing spells

For example if you’ve cast a spell to help you save money, recharge it to renew it’s energy and help it work to it’s optimum level! Methods of doing that include recasting the spell if you feel it necessary, if it’s a physical object like a charm you can hold it in your hands and channel new energy into it, say some sort of recharging spell, or leave it in the light of the full moon over night.

New Moon Rituals & Powerful Steps Of Intention Setting

Using the moon phases in your magic will add much power to your rituals. The moon takes 29 ½ days to pass through one of its cycles, and each phase has its own specific energy. This ritual deals with the New or Waxing Moon. You can choose to acknowledge this when it is truly new during the Dark of the Moon, or when you see the first sickle in the evening sky.

Black Moon ~ September 30th, 2016

“What hurts you blesses you. Darkness is your candle. Your boundaries are your quest.”  ― Rumi”

Friday September 30th, 2016 we’ll see the second occurrence of the New Moon in a single month. We’re all familiar with the second full moon called the “ Blue Moon” but the second New Moon also has a special name, she is called the Black Moon, doesn’t that just sound powerful and majestic? well that’s because she is!

The New Moon is a time of initiation and new beginnings. It is the time to plant the  seeds of what you want to grow in your life. Making a wish, intention, a promise, or a vow is a common custom. It is believed that as the moon grows, that your intention or goal will too, usually by the time the moon completes its cycle and returns full circle to new again.

Utilize the energy of the black moon for constructive magick pertaining to: Beginnings, New projects, ideas, inspiration, vitality, freedom, Love, wealth, success, courage, friendship, and protection.

New Moon offers us her energy of intention, to rid ourselves of the negative habits in our life. The energy of the new moon aids us in ridding our minds and bodies of toxic thought patterns as well as eliminating toxic substances like excess alcohol,  processed foods, caffeine & tobacco usage. Starting a new project, or discipline should be substantially less difficult to stick to when started during the new moon. it’s important to come up with a ritual that has meaning for you, instead of trying to follow any set guidelines (unless you’re already part of an established ritual group).

Remember: Magick worked during this powerful transit is not only potent, but effective! Be careful what you wish for.

Astrology expert  Molly Hall has some wonderful insights as to creating a personalized New Moon Ritual.

CREATING A NEW MOON RITUAL:

Gather Sacred Supplies:  Your altar is where you collect your sacred objects – pictures, found objects and the like. Using herbs with healing or symbolic properties adds to your ritual. Stones and crystals are another powerful ally. Candles are magical, and in its form contains all four of the elements. A small journal on hand allows you to keep a record of your intentions.

Preparing for the Ritual: This is the most important part of ritual, since your commitment is the key. Take a ritual bath with sea salt to clear your field of any negative energiesSage is an herb used to clear a space, and make it sacred for ritual.

  • Light the end of the sage wand and blow on it until there is a smoldering glow. Use it around your own body, and in the space of your ritual. Clear your mind with meditation, using music or just quieting down in your cleared, sacred area.

Grounding: This is something that’s important anytime, for staying connected to earth energy. Signs that you’re not grounded are mania, nervousness, racing thoughts and the like. Too often we forget to feel the earth under our feet. I’ve mentioned Starhawk’s grounding meditation a few times on the site, and her tree grounding exercise is one of my own daily rituals. In a nutshell, it’s visualizing the roots going down into the Earth, through the layers, into the core, and then drawing that energy back up through your feet again. It moves through each chakra, coming out the top and down around you. Try this or another variation of grounding before you set new Moon intentions.

Your New Moon Wishes: After you’ve cleared a sacred space and settled your energy, you’re ready to set your intentions. Make a list of what you’d like to draw into your life, and Dream Big! The new Moon is a moment to conjure what seems out of reach, and creating the vision is the first step to making it a reality. But these are not just words on paper. As you write them down as intentions, you are committing to doing your part to make them real. Some call it co-creating, since you’re opening to universal energies to set dreams in motion.

Dreams of the Soul: Your intentions come from the longings that keep coming up. In the days leading up to the new Moon, give some thought to those longings, and see what images, dreams and streams of thought come up. Use symbolic associations to go along with your intentions. Weave in the element for the new Moon, and think about the houses and planets that are affected by it. For an earth new Moon, for example, you might plant seeds that represent your intention. Rituals are a way to work with universal energies, and draw attention to the particular life lessons, or arena (house, planet, etc) that it illuminates for you.

Symbolic Acts: Here’s where you get to be creative. If your intentions are to write a book, or broadcast your ideas out to the world, tie them to a helium balloon and send them off. Write them on a stick and offer it to the fire. To open to love, put lavender and a rose quartz in a small pouch, along with the qualities you’re seeking. If you’re inspired, add a symbolic act to your intention-setting ritual.

Keep them Alive: A big part of success with new Moon intentions is what comes after. Find ways to keep them in the front of your awareness. Put them in a visible spot, or keep them in your wallet. Make notes in your journal about your progress. At the full Moon , find ways to take action on those intentions, and celebrate any signs of change.

Basil Prosperity Bath Ritual

Basil is the botanical most associated with attracting wealth and prosperity. Large, fresh, vivid green basil leaves are believed to resemble cash bills. In addition, basil is strongly identified with various spirits of wealth and good fortune. The presence of the botanical beckons these spirits, together with their blessings of prosperity.  Basil belongs to Maitresse Ezili Freda Dahomey, Vodou spirit of luxury and is featured in many of her rituals.”

Ingredients:

  • Water
  • Fresh Basil
  1. Boil enough water to cover basil.
  2. Pick off about a handful of fresh organic basil leaves.
  3. Place the basil leaves into a bowl and submerge them in the boiling water.
  4. Allow leaves to sit in the water for about 15-20 minutes. Strain the basil and add the liquid to your tub of water.
  5. Soak in the tub while floating the basil leaves in the bath water.

Crystals: Citrine, Tiger’s Eye, Obsidian

A Witch’s Full Moon Traditions

I just sent off my third lesson for Movements of the Moon (and it’s a Full Moon tonight), and felt quite pleased with how my brief rundown of common lunar traditions came out - so here it is!

Across many practices, the Full Moon is the most important lunar date of the month. It signifies a time of maximum power and magic, and many traditions choose to commemorate, celebrate, or use the day in their Craft. Some basic Full Moon traditions include:

  • Rituals: Many Witch cultures have some form of a Full Moon honoring ritual. For instance, in Wicca, we have the Esbat: a ritual that celebrates the Moon, the turning of its faces, and the Goddess and the God (in this case, particularly the Goddess). There are many other Full Moon honor rituals for secular witches without the deities, or for Witches of other religions (such as my Hellenic self), you can invoke or call on your own powers and deity(s) as to your personal beliefs. The particular word “Esbat” has also evolved to mean rituals of commemoration and thanks undertaken on the New Moon and Dark Moon as well, per practice. There are many scripts for the Full Moon Esbat, though most should be variations on the same rubric.
  • Drawing Down the Moon: Though sometimes performed as part of an Esbat or Full Moon Ritual, drawing down the Moon is an energy exercise where you connect with the Moon’s energy by calling it into you. This is done by going outside, grounding and centering, and then “breathing in”the Moon by feeling it rush into you and filling you with its light. When done, the energy can be released, used, or dissipated.
  • Offerings: Many Pagan Witches find it optimal to use the Full Moon to connect with their deity or pantheon, and use it as a regular, ideal time to connect, commune, and thank their deities.
  • Meditations: Many secular and nature-based Witches find it lovely to just sit outside, enjoy the moonlight, and spend time meditating. Sometimes, an offering of thanks is left to the moon, such as a small coin or stone.
  • Spellwork: This is the obvious one! The Full Moon is a time of maximum spellpower, and, indeed, certain spells are best cast (and, some may stubbornly argue, only can be cast) on a Full Moon. As a general rule, the Full Moon both indicates the heady powers at hand, but also “flavors” and affects your spell, depending on the Moon and the time of year. A common piece of craft to do on a Full Moon is to create Sacred Water, or Moon Water (every Witch seems to have a different name for this!). Simply put, one draws power from the moon and imbues a vessel of water with it, to charge and keep for later work. There are hundreds of variations on this technique!

These are just a couple examples. There’s a myriad of activity to be had on the Full Moon - I hope you can see more than a couple jumping off points from here!

🎃🍁🍂✨AUTUMN WITCHY THINGS TO DO!✨🍂🍁🌰

This is my most favorite season. I am feeling giddy as I type this. There’s so much to enjoy during this time of year!

Collecting

🌰 this is the season for acorns! As you might have noticed the ground around some oak trees are already sprinkled with them. You can collect acorns for runes or make acorn bell charms or make floating tea lights with the caps. I love collecting acorns for spells, especially wealth spells. I hold one and bless it, then visualize my spell as if it is already happening, then kiss or blow a kiss at it to seal it (it’s been on the ground so sometimes it safer to blow a kiss to it lol) then tuck it in the earth.

🍁 Collecting leaves! Fall leaves are great for banishing spells especially since they are something that was shed away. You can write on them what things you want to come to an end and burn or bury them. You can also use them to make leaf lanterns or decorate fairy lights with.

🍎 It’s also Apple season! You can go apple picking and use their deliciousness in cooking or dry them in an oven or fruit dehydrator for snacks or teas! Making apple tea is perfect for autumn and also makes a nice gift. Apples are also highly used in spells often for gratitude, offerings or fertility. You can leave out sliced apples as an offering to spirits if you work with them or bury them for spells. If you celebrate the equinox they can make great tea lights and decorations.

🍂 This is also a great time to start preserving. Start to pickle things for winter when a lot less stuff grows. Make extracts from fresh herbs. Gather a clean jar, hard white liquor like vodka and cheese cloth for straining and top your harvested fruit or herbs with vodka and let it sit for a week or two. Shake it daily if you want. You can even keep the ingredients in there for all of winter if you wish. I know you can buy most extracts of anything but I always find it far more powerful when I craft my own. Also infused liquor with fruits and sugar can make fantastic Christmas gifts!

Cooking

🍳 This is definitely the season for kitchen witches! So much is in season and there are so many gatherings that will happen! Perfect your pie making skills and eat the gifts of the harvest. A lot of spices makes its way into my food in this season to combat colds and also for hotter spices to warm the body up. One spice I associate with warmth as it has actual warming qualities is cinnamon and we know this is cinnamon season. Use it in teas, cooking, baking; you can put the oil in lotions and body creams but be careful to not put it on any sensitive areas or it will BURN. For a more savory version you can cook with black pepper. Black pepper paired with allspice makes a good autumn savory combo. I also love adding maple syrup to some dishes but very discreet amounts. For autumn equinox gatherings I bake BBQ chicken with a BBQ sauce that tastes smokey from a bit of bourbon I sneak in that goes well with its spiciness and the maple syrup goes well with the sweetness of the sauce. Maple syrup in savory-sweet dishes might sound weird at first but if you pair it right with sauces like Japanese eel sauce (and make baked glazed eggplants with that) or BBQ sauce, it will come out great. The trick is to add very little by little and taste as you go.

🍭 Also as Halloween is coming up its the time for candy! There’s so many cool ways to make your own treats from Halloween bark, to fudge (2), to caramel, pretzels, gummies and it will be even more magical if you make it for your friends! (Better to make these for private parties cause it can get suspicious handing it out to trick or treaters). It’s also the season for candy coated apples. For the fall equinox each year I make caramel coated apples. I feel like candy coated is better suited for Halloween cause it’s glazed and more dramatic appearing. Making a chocolate covered apple can be a great substitute for candy since many people complain that candy covering is hard to bite through. Also chocolate is easy to color and flavor. I love to decorate with colorful fall sprinkles and crushed nuts (if no one is allergic of course) like peanuts and almonds if it’s a caramel apple.

🍺 Along with preserving, this is also brewing season!! Making cider might be a challenge for some but it’s incredibly rewarding if you go through with it. Look at your local breweries for equipment and advice. If you’re uninterested in doing all the work, supporting their fall brews is just as good! Plus breweries produce some DELICIOUS stuff during the fall. My friends and I have a favorite craft beer store we especially harass during fall. You can also make liquors and liqueurs from harvested fruits. You can either put chopped up fruits and berries with a stick of cinnamon or spices in a jar and top with dark rum, whiskey or vodka depending on how you want to influence the flavor and make an infusion. If you want something sweeter (and quicker to make), get a pan to make simple syrup (1/2cup water to 1cup sugar) and instead of water replace with something like apple cider and as it simmers add cinnamon. You can add the apple spiced syrup to a clean bottle and top with dark rum. The next morning shake it and you will have an apple spice liqueur! I like to make simple syrup with things in season this time of year such as juiced apples or crushed harvested berries and make a berry liqueur with it. It’s delicious and can make wonderful hot toddy drinks that taste like pie!!

☕️ Its also spiced tea season! Brewing spiced teas to help cold, plus I was told my spiced teas taste like seasonal candles lol. I love making an orange spice tea and an apple tea with dried apple slices. The orange spice is simple. In a pot of simmering water combine orange slices or peeks, cinnamon sticks and star anise and let simmer for a while. You can add brown sugar to the pot of sweeten it in your cup after. For the apple tea I like to put roobois in a pot and let steep or simmer with apple slices and cinnamon. Another popular tea I drink especially the closer to winter we get is ginger spice. In a simmering pot add slices of ginger, cloves and honey. My dad spikes this with Haitian rum if we feel under the weather. It helps sweat out the cold.

🍂  Crockpot recipes!! Get familiar with the modern cauldron lol!! There’s this wonderful post for crockpot recipes for the colder seasons. Stew season is upon us and there’s nothing better than coming home on a cold autumn evening to a rich stew of squash and pumpkins and oxtail.

Spirit Activity

👻 if you want you could contact spirits easily since spirit activity will heighten. Maybe talk to ancestors since they could be less scary if you want a place to start. If you do NOT want or like spirit activity this would be a great time to set up wards!

🍁 Fall is also a time of gratitude and reflection. As you go harvesting make sure to leave offerings or give thanks to the trees and plants you harvest from! Even a moment of sending a boost of positive thoughts their way can work. Apparently plants can read and communicate through vibrations and are very sensitive so you saying thanks or sending love and gratefulness can make some plants happy lol.

Enchanting

🍂 While you change your wardrobe from warm weather to cold weather bless your sweaters and socks to keep you warm. If you have more time and need a boost put your stored away sweaters in the dryer for a few minutes with a very sealed cloth sack of herbs like cinnamon sticks (not powder) or anything you associate with warmth and comfort before exchanging them with your summer clothes in the drawers.

💄 Also the witchiest season is upon us and if you are into make up and glamours you know this means darker richer lipsticks and richer colors. Enchant your dark lipsticks and make up to make you feel witchier and more powerful! It’s the one time of the year you can wear dark burgundy, chocolate Browns and blacks and no one will ask you about it. (Unless if you’re an all year round goth 👍🏽)

🎃 Pumpkin season is here! A wonderful charm for your home is this pumpkin incense lantern. It’s beautifully festive and will make your space smell like pie!

🎃 Also for pumpkin carving you can use magic to make them into wards. Jack-o-lanterns were created to ward away bad spirits. You can take the ancient tradition and make your Jack-o-lanterns ward away negativity, unwanted visitors and unwanted spirits. Some people like black candles for protection so filling them with black tea lights might look extra halloweeny and help with your ward!

🌑 Also charcoal is good for absorbing negative energy. If these holiday family seasons make you uncomfortable you can make sigils of protection inside of your Jack o lantern or carved incense pumpkin to help with negative tension in the household once family is over or use charcoal and sea salt to make black salt and hide it somewhere in the living room where people congregate or make it into a pretty centerpiece like a candle votive. You can add black glitter or stick in fake plants to make it look like some interesting modern art furniture piece when really it’s black salt to help your uncles, aunts and extended cousins to simmer the fuck down.

 Reflection

🍂  Along with gratitude fall is a time of reflection. Reflect on past issues you faced in the year and how to improve them. Reflect on your craft and how you can improve it and what’s not working. Whatever is not good not working in your life right now it’s a good time for banishing magic. Once again you can use fall leaves because those leaves are something that’s been shed and you can imagine yourself shedding away those things too. Remember to be grateful of those things that are working. You can show gratitude to yourself by blessing acorns and planting them in the earth to grow as a gift back to the earth but also symbolic of those good things to grow.

Longer post than usual but this is my favorite season and I do a lot during it! Of course feel free to add if you have any other ideas or recipes!

5. You were not specific enough
Did a great ritual for abundance, but didn’t specify what kind of abundance you wanted? Great, now your zucchini plant is making all that extra summer squash when you wanted money. Maybe you can sell zucchinis…
4. Your rituals are more focused on changing the world around you than changing yourself.
All ritual magic works best at changing ourselves, sure, your neighbor is a jerk and you want them to be at least polite, but maybe if you were nicer to them they would be more polite to you. A ritual helping you have patience or having a better way of communicating with them would probably do more good in the long run.
3. Your ritual was directed towards a deity you have never interacted with before.
“Hi! It’s me, that person you don’t know? Yeah, I need some shit.” Good way to set up a reputation of being a needy jerk. People have long standing relationships with deities for a reason! And that reason is, when you work for someone else, they are more likely to work for you. At the very least give them an offering for their time.
2. There was no sense of sacrifice in your ritual.
That’s right, sometimes you have to give something up to get something in return! Ritual magic sounds like a great way to get what we want with very little cost, but it does not work that way! If you do a ritual for change, you need to be willing to sacrifice something. A nice bottle of wine (not for you, for the spirits!), a dedication that once a week you will give the spirits some food, or sacrifice some of your own comfort. If spirits see you struggling for something, they will be more likely to want to help you. To sacrifice your comfort you can do ritual all night, dance for the spirits for hours, do a sweat, or give up chocolate. There are a myriad of sacrifices of personal comfort that will have little to no ill effect on your health.
1. You did that ritual, and nothing else.
Do all the rituals you want to get a job, but unless you went job hunting, handed out some resumes, and put in the legwork, you won’t get one. Sure that was a powerful and awesome ritual, you got everything right you possibly could of, but if you did not physically do anything, the likelihood is no one is going to call you and offer you a job.

Prosperity Spell

*purpose: Draw money to you

Take a medium/dark Green candle- if encased in glass, take off any stickers (if the written word is a spell, what are those labels?) and provide your own imagery (dollar bills, money symbol $, etc). If not encased in glass, take any stickers off and inscribe the images with a toothpick, pencil, etc. write your intention along the side of the candle and write either your name or initials and date of birth on the base of the candle.

anoint candle with 3 drops of bayberry oil or cinnamon oil or fast luck oil

*dont have the oils? sprinkle in some cinnamon (draw in money) and a crushed up bay leaf (protection)

place 3-13 (odd amounts) copper pennies (before 1982) around your candle. (copper is a great conductor of energy, it helps direct energy, amplify crystals and other metals)

if you can, incorporate 1 strong magnet

Incense: Cinnamon, Frankincense, Fast Luck, Bayberry

Result: An in pour of money from various sources. (do not not think about how the money will come to you or who it may come from, doing this will affect the spell.)

This should be done between the new moon and the full moon.

New Moon rituals with my girls last night. This New Moon was very intense for all of us and we ritually burned so many of our fears. The main fear that we all shared variations of is the fear of not being enough. Not enough for love, not enough for our jobs, not enough in life in general. Planting your fears in the fire during a new moon helps you reap your courage when the full moon comes. Im excited to see what the next full moon in Scorpio will bring to us.

Simple Morning Rituals

  • Brew your tea or coffee, and say a little blessing over it. You could add an intent for the day to boost your likelihood of actually doing it. Stir in sweetener/creamer clockwise to gain positivity, and stir counterclockwise to banish laziness, negative thoughts, etc..
  • Go outside and meditate on your front porch. Think of how new the day is, and the fact that this 24 hours has never been experienced before. Allow yourself to be refreshed and renewed.
  • Light a tealight or small candle and grab a fireproof container. Come up with a good sigil to focus on for the day. Burn it and pretend you never even thought about it. Haha what sigil?Alternatively, make a sigil and empower it through the day. Burn or dispose of it when you feel accomplished.
  • Splash your face with water after you bless it. It feels really good to be purified from energy-filled water, and you can charge it how ever you like. You can make it a gem elixir, a bowl of moon water, sun water, rose water… the possibilities are endless.
  • Braid your hair if it’s long, and fill each knot with a specific energy. Confidence, love, power. Whenever you feel like you’re lacking this energy, unbraid your hair. If your hair is short, simply put bobby pins somewhere inconspicuous and pull them out for a boost. If you don’t have any hair, put stickers or gems on the nape of your neck where they won’t be visible pull them off accordingly.
